Yeah, if you combine flying and carbs/sodium and maybe even some alcohol, 9 pounds water is totally possible. My prediction is that ~6 of those will be off in a couple days, and much of the rest shortly after.

I wish I felt that way. I can't even get to the point where I don't feel that I'm torturing myself each time I force myself through the door of the gym. It's not even that it's all that painful or anything. I just find it boring and unpleasant, and instead of the supposed happy endorphin feeling, I feel cranky, awkward and…

I drink tea almost daily. Although I don't really think it's helping my diet because of any properties of the tea, having something hot to drink with no calories in it helps me stay on track with my eating plan.

If you want to tone but without losing weight, you really should probably go to maintenance calories. While you aren't getting your period regularly it is much less likely -- although not impossible -- to get pregnant.

I think bloating is correct. It's water weight, air, or food in your system, as there is no reasonably way you would have 'moved' the inches from your waist to your stomach.

Since I think all the obvious, probable answers have been given, I'll offer a couple of exotic suggestions that might or might not help. First, you could try getting tested for food allergies and sensitivities. The inflammation response from eating something you have a mild intolerance to can keep you full of water weight…

I generally only eat mine back on a regular basis if I'm hungry (rather than just 'snack-y'). If I worked out much more than usual, I go ahead and eat back 30-50% so I don't have an 'empty day' the next day!

Fit back into a dress that looked roll-y and awkward at the start of my MFP journey!

I experience this slightly. At my heaviest, my arms and etc were firm and round and smooth, then I lost a some quick weight at the start of tracking and things looked a bit saggy and droopy and worse, then my loss slowed down and things seemed to partly tighten back up. It's probably not dramatic enough for onlookers to…

If you lose 4 pounds next week as well, my opinion would be to up the calories a little. The first 3 weeks are always a little weird because of water weight. (I lost 4 the first week, gained 2 the second week, then lost 6 the third week... and have since settled into a pretty regular loss of about .8 per week without doing…

This happens to me on and off. I talked to my doctor about it and he chalked it up to either hormones or my slight anemia. Maybe if you're newly vegan you need to get more iron?

If you are active daily and have a small appetite and most of your body is lean mass, then yes, probably. For me... no. Not all all. If I am not spending a good portion of my daily physical and mental energy controlling every morsel of food and forcing myself to exercise even though I hate it, I am gaining weight. Life…

This sounds like me, too! >_< Thanks for the useful and quite entertaining info!

For me it was just being inactive and having too many sweets.

Write down what you eat. When you get home, log it into MPF. Consider taking a lot of walks while you're there, and lowering your calories a small amount each day of the week leading up to your trip to make some wiggle room in your weekly average (either eat slightly less, or add on a little activity... Don't go crazy with…

The possibilites as I see them are: You're eating fewer calories than you think you are on the new eating plan You're eating a different ratio of macros on the new eating plan that either doesn't work for you, or will take some time to adjust to You're burning so much on the new workout plan that you just plain need a few…

One binge will not immediately sabotage or ruin your progress. If it happens on a regular basis it will start to slow you down or stall your weight loss, but overall for me it's better when a setback happens to just back back on my regular plan, maybe try to fit in some extra exercise or cut out a couple hundred calories…

Swimming is a good way to burn calories and puts less stress on your joints than something like running that's high impact.

On average I think 2-4 drinks a week, but it's not consistent. Some weeks I have none, and once month or so I may have 3-5 in one night. I do log them/include in my calories....

I eat fruit daily and am losing weight.

Buying fresh produce is more costly than buying junk, but the amount I'm saving by not eating out as often and drinking more water a fewer purchased drinks out has more than balanced it out. I would suggest stocking up on staples when they are on sale and then storing/freezing them in one serving portions.

I picked a goal weight based on what my Dr recommended. It will put me at the high edge of a healthy BMI for my height, so my plan is when I reach that point, I'll see how I look and feel, and adjust things as needed.

Anecdotally, I felt the same way, puffy-fingered and swollen when I was on antibiotics last year. Attempting to take waterpills or something like that when you're already ill isn't something I would suggest unless your doctor is on board... personally I just tried to drink as much water as I could and waited it out. As far…

I got Mirena in January. From Jan-April I gained about 10 pounds (while not logging and eating whatever). From April-now I lost about 10 pounds (while logging). So at least for me it seems not to have an effect on weight loss. It has my my period situation unpredictable and strange, but not in a way my Dr is worried about.…

5-10 pounds of carrots a day? That seems like it could cause more problems than it solves, and wouldn't leave much room for any other nutrients. Or did you mean 5-10 carrots?

If the person I was on a date with decided he didn't like me anymore because of the food I ordered, I would consider it his loss and not mine.

Fat helps you utilize the nutrients in greens, so I think keeping at least some of the fat is a good idea. Still, you have 5 fat-containing ingredients in that salad, so I doubt dropping one or two would hurt if you are concerned about it.

Fitbits are water resistant (at least I know the flex is....) so it might be just fine!

I think using the website trendweight.com might be useful for you. You should still try to limit yourself to weighing in once per day, at the same time. I like to get on the scale right before hopping in the shower.

I have (hereditary) high cholesterol, and my doctor advised that the cholesterol found in relatively lean but high cholesterol foods like eggs and shrimp were okay for me to have. He said that exercise and losing weight would have a lot more impact on my levels than eating some eggs would. But next time you see your doctor…
