I used to get toe bang when I was learning to ski because I kept leaning back instead of staying centered. It was pushing my toes into the front of the boots. Just a thought.

I run 3x a week and cut back to lifting weights 2x a week. I do a full body lifting routine and still can see muscles. I was hating 3x a week lifting.

I run slow too. Now with the heat I run even slower. But I have learned that if I run slow, I will always accomplish the distance I set out to do. Also it's always in the back of my mind that if I run slow, I will have less chance of injury.

I work out at home and only have powerblock dumbbells to 45 lbs.

Thank you so much for the info. I learned a lot and hopefully I will be able to progress either now or soon.

My shin splints went away when I changed from neutral to stability shoes. A deep leg massage also helped a lot.

How much of it is mental.

Yes, it might be the seat. That's what caused my knee pain. Once that was adjusted (it was either too forward or back), I was good.

Thats when I run. Besides wearing light colored tops, I bought a Princeton headlamp and step into it so that its snug around my waist. It will light the path in front of me for about 30 feet hands free and cars see it too.

I went from a neutral shoe (Asics Cumulus) that the running store recommended to a stability shoe (Asics Kayano 22) and my shin splints went away. Am also working on strengthening my glutes and ankles as recommended after my gait analysis was done by a sports lab.

The longest distance I have covered after taking a month off to rest my shins is 2.2 miles, doing a run/walk combo on Week 3 of C25K. I just read the article. I weigh 151 lbs and am 5'8"

My friend used to dance hard for 30-45 mins when she was a stay at home mom and she lost a bunch of weight. She probably did it while the kids were sleeping.

Thank you. Theres hope then.

@pzarnosky How long did you have to stop running for before you started back? I have tried everything and now finally stopped running for a bit.

Add me please. Am about to start Week 3.

Add me. I am in same exact place you are in c210k. Hoping my shin splint gets better so I am starting over again.
