I've done vacation breaks without any issue. I tried to stay mindful in some situations and just lived it up in others. Logging breaks for no reason other than not feeling like it, though, = me and the scale having problems. Go enjoy your weekend and don't stress about food.

It's something that can become a vicious cycle. I do go back to my normal deficit often, but I am guilty of getting into binge/fast routines on occasion.

Kinda boring, but I have been on a SF jello kick lately. Can shove a giant bowl into my face for hardly any calories when I feel the urge. Can also be used to make many desserts. Just Google. I saw one recipe where you mix SF jello with LF cream cheese and set it in a graham cracker crust. Going to try it soon. Have made…

Skipping breakfast worked for me for quite awhile. I eat it now because I've become accustomed to it, and I'm trying to follow a 3 meals-a-day routine at the moment.

In an effort to switch things up and get better control lately, I have started adhering to some "philosophies". 1) No snacking between meals. If I eat breakfast, I can wait 4 or so hours for lunch. I will not starve. I do let myself have a snack before bed since dinner happens at 5 and bedtime ends up being like 11. I get…

My body does crazy water weight things. Big swings and whooshes. I'm sure it's all tied to hormones.

I've been eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner lately, with a bedtime snack if needed. I'm hungry at those times. If I'm not truly hungry, I have no business eating.

I went from a size 10 to about 5.5 (390 to 190). I've gained some weight back and I am a size 6. Used plastic ring wrap things for awhile and then finally got rings resized when was around 230 or so (even with the plastic ring, they were simply unwearable). They're still a little too big now, but I want to get back to…

Just here to point out that back many generations when managing a household and feeding your family was an all-day affair of physical work, people died earlier and suffered more with illness. Obesity was a sideshow act back then, but the general population wasn't living longer.

From my reading on this subject after hubby was diagnosed, if you're going to get Type 2, you're going to get it. Whether you end up with at 40 or younger vs. 65+ and how well it's managed are where weight and lifestyle come into play. Even those who reverse it with lifestyle will eventually find it returning and requiring…

You start right where you are. Movement hurts; I totally get that. Find small ways to move more that you can handle. Start with chair exercises if you need to. Do little things like more chores around the house. You start at *your* level. Don't worry about what other people at other weights are capable of doing. You are…

Name: Kristin Total Weight lost: 207#, but currently sitting at -198 (oops). Time it took to lose: May of 2015 was start, reached lowest of 183 in October of this year How long in maintenance: Decided to maintain for awhile at the beginning of November. It was such a struggle to continue losing. Doesn't mean I wouldn't…

I'm in the no-boobs club now. It's just life.

+1 to the post Orphia quoted. I think coming from a positive place makes an enormous difference.

I wouldn't go for more than 1 pound per week at your size. You'll be cranky and lose muscle. MFP is setting you at 1,200 because that's the lowest it will go. You likely will not lose 2 pounds per week eating 1,200, and you shouldn't be going below that. Like someone else pointed out, that 1,200 is your net amount after…

I've been eating in a deficit the last few days, walking more, and will do the same after Christmas. Christmas Eve & Day will be eating all the things.

This is where I am at right now. I'm tall and get more calories, but after struggling for the last couple of months with "hanger" and feeling the beginning of burnout, I decided that a 250 calorie daily deficit just wasn't working for me. I'm now set to maintenance. That's my goal, but I can decide for myself to go under a…

SW: 390 CW: 183 BMI: 26 using reg scale, 25 using tall people scale Range: the 180's. I'm planning on maintaining during the holiday season. Idk after that. Hunger once I dropped below 190 has become ridiculous. Regardless of whether it's psychological or physiological or whatever people's opinions are, I feel like my…

Just seconding the suggestions for trying on clothes. Might be different since you're a dude but I would literally go multiple times a month to try on clothes - sole purpose, didn't even buy them - up until just recently. I went from automatically heading to stuff that was too large and being unaware to now being able to…

What about burning out? How long do you plan on loathing your body? We're different people with different goals, but to me, not being able to say, "I'm good with maintaining here," - and really meaning it - also feeds into binge/restrict cycles and giving up out of sheer frustration because there's too much focus on the…

I also wanted to add that thanks to my phone being glitchy, I haven't been on the forums as much lately, and I think that's been good for me. I think the attitudes of some posters/posts towards their own bodies or ideal body fat % goals had skewed my own thinking a bit for awhile. The "never quite good enough" mentality…

Yesterday. I was watching a show, and one of the main characters is supposed to be attractive and fit. She stripped down to a tank top and undies for a scene, and I realized she was pear shaped like me. Her lower half was more round and her upper half more defined. I was like, "Whoa." I still feel big but not fat. I am…

Well, that's lame. :(

I'm 5'10" and 188 pounds. You can see what that looks like on my profile pic. My ultimate goal is 174 so I can say I am at normal BMI, but I am struggling to stick to a deficit at the moment and have been maintaining my weight for the last 5-6 weeks. I didn't realize I hit maintenance until a few weeks passed. I'm…

My wrists = small and my elbows = large.

I'm young enough and genetically blessed enough to not have had complications from my excess weight except high blood pressure and potentially undiagnosed sleep apnea. The BP quickly resolved with just the first 10-15%, and my husband hasn't seen me stop breathing or snore in a long time. In my case, I felt like my body…

Litehouse OPA or Marie's dressings. Anything made with Greek yogurt tastes good to me vs. the old fashioned light dressings (sweet ranch? No. Ew.). I don't like Bolthouse. I do like Naturally Fresh (not made from yogurt) light ranch.

I use Splenda daily and log it as 1g carb/4 cals per pack. No big deal. I'd use a lot more of the real stuff.

We eat dinner unusually late because of hubby's work schedule - 11:30 PM. That means I don't have to worry about being hungry between dinner and bed, but it presents me with extra challenges. If I am up at 7 AM, that's a 16 hour window to stretch out my calories. I typically don't have my first meal until the early…
