  • YAHOO!!!!! Well done! Recovery is so damn hard, but it is possible as you are seeing!!!
  • Hi! I am so sorry for all that you are dealing with. I def think seeing someone to work through the emotional toll is most important. I would say this even without the very serious marital stress. A therapist (especially one who specializes in EDs) can help you to learn healthy coping skills. The national eating disorder…
  • I am so sorry you're struggling right now. BED- sucks! It can get better. I have found that restriction and bingeing are two sides of the same coin. I am aggreisvly trying to lose the "diet" mentality. Difficult but not impossible. I am now finding that my bingeing is subsiding. Hang in there. Better days ahead. Glad you…

  • I would check w your doc. It's not so much about calories, but rather iron levels etc.. and who knows what the current thought is on what to avoid. I know that changes from time to time, ex- no tuna. No soft cheese etc. Congratulations. I hope you're feeling good!
  • Good for you for getting prof help. I believe that will help a lot. For me, the bingeing was always bec of restriction. I'm finally beating the binge monster. Add me if you want!
  • I was just reading an article about "tapping." Never tried it, but I'll try anything to squash anxiety when it pops Up. Frequently, I have to remind myself "it's just a fear, not a prediction. It's a feeling not a fact."
  • I am finding doing "grounding exercises" can be really helpful. When I start to get anxious, afraid (which seems to happen easily- be it a thought about my dad getting older, my son learning to drive, my being 9 years from the age my mom was when she died etc...) I remind myself I am safe- and then start observing how I'm…
  • I need to remember to actually fully wake up to spell check. Obviously the title should read September love!
  • You can do this. But first you need to define what "this" is for you. Think beyond weight, numbers etc... That can and will be a by product of healthy stress management, and finding your happy!!!!
  • Wow! That's a lot to deal w and scary! Breathe and try to remember that this is a rough wave that will pass. If you "need/want" something, like Oreos- have them, but recognize that you are having them to care for yourself and do so, as best you can, without being mean to yourself about it. There is inherently nothing wrong…
  • I'm here for you too!

  • Normalize your eating. 3 meals and a few snacks. And I mean full meals- carbs, protein fat at each one. Understand that it will feel weird, scary, uncomfortable for a while, but keep going. I realized I was scared, Uncomfortable and anxious already anyway. Some say, get rid of binge foods- that absolutely didn't work for…
  • I'm an "almost vegetarian." Just picky I guess. Typically prefer non meat items. Add me if you like.
  • I agree, brain over binge is worth the read. For me, the binges didn't stop until the restricting stopped first. It wasn't just restricting calorically, but even w types of food. I would eat well calorically- really eat, but I was so focused on eating "healthy" quality food. Ice cream, chocolate, maybe cheese, etc... I…
  • Great job!!!! Big victory indeed!!!!
  • You absolutely can and imo should have some. I know it may feel scary to have "some," but you can do it. It is a journey- a one that will last your whole life. There is nothing bad about those foods as long as you have no allergy to them and you are giving your body the nutrition it needs- most of the time!
  • I'm getting farther and farther into recovery from lifelong eating disorders. Add me if you like. There are several eating disorder support groups on here-
