Wait? how you can not gain muscle and shred fat at the same time? Because can't you do strengthening excersizes along with cardio? That's what I've always been told anyway (sincerely confused now)

It's more than likely muscle if you see a noticeably difference, but I don't know enough about finding the balance to give any advice on that one, but good job on your gains and good luck finding your balance :)

To me it sounds like any kind of addiction. Smoking, drinking, shopping, eat, etc usually you have to take baby steps, if you just cut it cold turkey it can be really hard to keep it. everybody starts somewhere :)

Weighing yourself isn't gonna tell you what you're doing wrong or right... You can lose fat and gain muscle and still gain weight but that's not bad.

Also the number on the scale really isn't telling you anything. Doesn't tell you how healthy you are or how much fat you have, just what all your bones, blood, muscle, etc weighs (and why would I need to know that)

I eat around my work schedule because my body is on a different time clock. I have breakfast at noon, lunch at 5pm and dinner at around 11pm

I never weigh myself.... The only time I ever get on a scale is at the doctors office. I let my body show me if I'm making progress :) not a number on a scale. (Also that number doesn't tell you how much of your weight is actually fat, and it doesn't tell you how fit you are) the scale is not my friend.

Try not to diet but more change the way you eat entirely. Dieting is just a shorter way of saying temporary weight loss.

You can't always listen to the scale. Just because the scale says one thing doesn't mean another. I'm currently 164lbs at 5'4" and my body fat percentage is average. So a scale would tell me that I'm overweight, but in reality I'm not because I have a lot of muscle mass. You could be the same way. Always remember that…
