Hi I started 7 days ago on the 12-week plan. It's working for me so far, I eat plenty of fruit and veg so not feeling hungry at any time. I like using this app with it as it tells me which soups they provide are high in sodium so I know to remove them from my order before the next delivery.

Only a sucker would pay £40 a year for an app just to remove advertisements!

Hi, congrats on the huge weight loss in 6 months! I am trying to go low carbs as well but find them in most things I'm used to eating, I've tried cutting down to 100g per day but so far has been well over that. I have a 1 litre camelbak I find much easier to drink water from each day rather than out of glasses.

The website calculated me exactly what I thought I was by estimating from the picture chart so believe it is as accurate as any other free method available. My digital scales calculate me as 4% less than what I really believe I am.

Hi and welcome. I'm new this week myself, but have learnt so much already from just scrolling through all past threads in this forum. It is full of good information and everyone is very knowledgeable, you've certainly came to the right place!

Congrats on the 8lbs loss and just keep at what your doing as it's obviously working. I hadn't even thought about weighing food for portioning until after reading your post. I've had an electric scale boxed away for years so tried it there for dinner and will continue to do so! I'm not sure how long my enthusiasm will last…

2... I was wondering what the streak was for at the top of the page, thanks!

Hi, Yes you can. On the diet chef account go into your account settings and click on the box which says "sync with my fitness pal". I arrived here yesterday via the diet chef website, I've never even heard of MFP before

Yes that is certainly achievable, I was dropping 2lbs a week the last time I got serious about fitness & dieting. The main nemesis is alchohol which is certainly best avoided, which for me is the hardest thing to do without

Hi, I am from Glasgow just joined yesterday

That's odd as my calorie goal is set at 1300 and it is currently saved as that. I set that on an external site (diet chef) and it asked me to synchronise my profile with this app which is why I ended up here.

Concentrate mainly on stopping smoking first and don't let weight gain bother you at all for now. After 3 months, the cravings will be few and far between and your new healthy set of lungs can exercise off any weight gained within the same time scale. Trying to do both at once is a bad idea as your enthusiasm for stopping…
