Should I "eat back" my exercise calories? Do I need to adjust my macros? I currently have them at 40% carbs 30% protein 30% fats... Sorry guys I'm just a little nervous about gaining too much weight. My first 2 pregnancies I was super unhealthy and didn't even care about what I ate and did not exercise. I am much more…

Thanks everyone.. Your responses make sense.. It made me feel like I was eating too much when I heard that calorie intake. Mind you, I am still in the "obese" department (5'3", 211 lbs.). But damn I love to eat lol.. So I eat about 1300-2000 calories, depending on my activity for that day.

On my 600 lb life, the Doctor recommends his oversized patients to eat 800-1000 calories a day... So maybe eating less than 1200 calories in some instances is not necessarily a bad thing?

I had 2 slices of toast smeared with oatmeal lol.. Quaker sells little packets that have 160 calories and 7 grams of protein. And I added a Dannon protein shake (12g of protein) and that fills me up pretty well.

I eat around 1600-2100 calories a day to lose weight, depending on how active I am that day. 5'3" at 213.8 lbs. (Started at 287.6 lbs.)

How do you come up with your "Base" calories... The ones before you take Fitbit calories into account?
-
I agree on the weight lifting... I lost 70 lbs in 6 months and I am working hard to fill in any "looseness" with muscle so it won't be so obvious.. Congrats on your weight loss!
-
That is a good idea... I think I'm gonna try it..
-
Lol that's funny.. My mom is always chasing the quick fixes from that magazine. She also told me that if you drink nothing but water on a full moon that you will lose 5 lbs. :expressionless:

grilled chicken mixed with avocado. Yum :p

Tuna has very low calories... If you put mayo in it, just make sure to put in a tablespoon or two :)

Congrats on your progress!!
-
Awesome.. Congrats!

Maybe you should increase your daily calorie intake and do a little more exercise to balance it out? I was eating 1300 calories and working out and it was leaving me really hungry, so I finally started eating most of my workout calories back and I feel SO much better and "cheat" a lot less. Good luck!

Okay will do. I'll see how this works for me.. Thanks for your advice!

I get my calorie burn info from my Fitbit so that's fairly accurate right?
-
Yes it does.. I'm using the MFP method.. So I guess maybe I'll start eating half of my workout cals back.. I don't want to over calculate my burn and end up just gaining weight. Thank you!

I weigh 219.6 lbs. I have my limit set at 1370 calories a day, and I do exercise 5-6 times a week, both cardio and strength training. Some people say that it's fine to stay like this while others say it's unhealthy and I feel so unsure at this point on what I should do- Stay the same or increase my intake.
-
Me too LOL

Just take it one day at a time!! Set short term goals.. Like "I'm going to stay under my calorie goal for 3 days" and slowly go down that route.. Hope that helps.. You're looking great though!

"Hello Prsilla! And good luck to you, too. My biggest fear with losing weight is to have the loose skin afterward. I know i can get there, but i really want it to be a gradual change. I love to snack at night and that will be something I will either do away with or become smaller and healthier. I really want to get away…

I started at 287 lbs in September 2015. I am now at 219.6 lbs, but my weight loss has definitely slowed down.. Still going at it though!!! :)
-
OMG WOW!!! CONGRATS!! Are you doing a lot of strength training on those arms? Looking fabulous!

Thanks for the website suggestion. I currently weigh 221 lbs and I just realized I am not meeting my protein goal. eek.
-
I like to slice it up and cook it with onions and green peppers.. And then I put some cheddar cheese and make a taco out of it :) There are some 80 cal wheat tortillas that are soo good.

You should go to Burlington's and check out their jeggings.. They're so comfy and are form-fitting.

For someone who is barely starting, cold turkey might not necessarily be an option.. I would highly suggest popsicles. There are some that are only 15 calories while others are 40 calories- not many calories at all and the 15 cal pops are sugar free :) Good luck and congrats on making the choice to start on a healthy…

-Chicken -Fish -Beans -Protein Shakes/Bars -Eggs Hope that helped :)

I gave up soda and sweet tea about 4 months ago and I'm happy I did that :) I agree with dotti1121- I would rather eat my calories than drink them.

Thank you ladies for your input! She has been using MFP and I do have a scale and we measure all of our foods to be as accurate as possible. She also has a fitbit to help her calculate an estimate on her calorie burn although she doesn't eat her "workout calories" back. We also have been trying to cook as opposed to buying…
