  • The general rule is to gain 20-25 pounds if at a normal bmi, 15 pounds if medically overweight, and 0-10 pounds if medically obese (depending on the level of obesity) obviously bmi is not the only or even necessarily the best indicator of health or fitness but it is what all the guidelines I've currently seen go by in…
  • It's always best to talk to your doctor or midwife, they're going to know more about what is best in your individual situation than anyone else. Generally though you are not supposed to be in a caloric deficit while pregnant, you need to eat at a surplus because the baby needs to gain weight and develop properly, it is…
  • This needs all the likes lol

  • Unfortunately you cannot spot reduce, genetics determine when and where fat comes off and how it went on in the first place. If you just keep at it it'll go down eventually, you can do workouts to tone but that will not spot reduce. You can do it just stick with it! :)
  • I didn't take measurements either but I'm down 50+ pounds and I can tell by all the new clothes I have to keep buying that it's all going down so I try not to let it bother me lol I take photos every 10 pounds in the same pose so I can see the difference, luckily I have a wonderful husband that compares the previous photo…
  • Yeah if anyone is still around it would be great to hear if you lost the weight in time or if you reached your goal and are still TTC or are even pregnant now :)
  • Well then I'll give it a shot and see how it goes, count me in :)
  • Oh I really hope you do this again after the new year so I can join! I doubt I could fully commit now since the holidays take up a lot of time for me but it sounds like so much fun!! If I had an idea about what it entails maybe I could make it work but I've never been the type to sign up if I didn't know I could be 110%…
  • In the Dallas-Flower Mound area :) Yes! I was going blank on the other ones thank you lol I guess I'm also the crazy one who doesn't like pancakes? I love waffles though lol
  • I can attest that at least in Oklahoma and Texas people have a serious thing for putting ranch on stuff, pizza by far is the biggest one a lot of people dip every bite into a cup of ranch. They put it on fries and chips too, its paired with vegetables too but I'd honestly say it's more common to see people dipping…
  • I usually do everything as normal, normal workout, don't eat more, I always eat chocolate in my calorie goal anyways so that's not usually a problem either. This week however has been a killer I've never felt like this before, idk if it's because I weigh less, because I'm more aware of my body in general, or because of a…
  • Ohhhh like my mom's version of a kabob (no vegetables lol) my mind has been stuck on that all morning trying to figure it out lol thank you I can finally move on! :D
  • You know, I have heard of several African dishes that use peanut butter in them, I would love to try them someday I love trying new cuisines I just find it very interesting :)
  • I weigh everyday but I also don't get emotional or distressed by weight fluctuations especially near my TOTM, I just shrug and say "oh well maybe tomorrow" and carry on. If I lose then great and I log it on mfp and Libra. Rhe first couple weeks I weighed I would get emotional but I'm pretty much removed from it now, I also…
  • Must...resist...obvious..jokes :s But in all seriousness I like peanut butter better now as an adult then I did as a kid, we always had it in the house and I ate it occasionally in a sandwich (without jelly) and a glass of milk. Now I'm more inclined to eat it in a dessert with chocolate and actually enjoy it but…
  • I really had no concept of portion sizes and obviously was eating too much, in a way I think it was a bit of denial too because I knew I was putting too much on my plate but I could just wave away the thought and eat my food. I'm thankful I had a problem that is easily cured by a food scale. I have a lot of sympathy for…
  • That was very interesting, thank you for sharing! I find stuff like this incredibly fascinating and thoroughly enjoyed it :)
  • Here is a helpful and funny article explaining clearly the myth of starvation mode http://www.aworkoutroutine.com/starvation-mode/ Calories In vs Calories Out (CICO) will work you need to be honest with your diary and yourself and log absolutely everything, getting a scale will help you immensely and I urge you to get one.…
  • My mother had gastric bypass not the sleeve but from my rudimentary understanding they are surgeries with the same goals just executed slightly different, (i.e. Connecting straight to a digestive organ vs altering stomach size) she had the produce when I was 8 years old and every year of the last 15 years I had doctors…
  • Just going to leave this video here lol your friend made me think of this actor for some reason, probably the "there has to be a gimmick" thing lol it just cracks me up :) I was actually talking to my new gynecologist the other day and she mentioned I looked good, I said yeah I'm down 30+ pounds so far and she asked how,…
  • Pinkie was this your commercial? ;) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VKs0oEIVOck Seriously though let's all try to be healthy in a responsible way, don't follow a crazy restrictive diet because you think it's going to cure/prevent cancer that's unrealistic and quite frankly the vegetables are having mental breakdowns over the…
  • I didn't go over the material, did we cover this in class? :D
  • This response is beautiful, I want to believe this too and I fervently hope you're right :) If keeping the weight off and truly changing your lifestyle is your goal then you just need to put tools into practice to achieve your goal. Weigh once a week or month and log it into something like Libra that will show you your…
  • I agree it tastes way better, I need to make more now that I'm thinking about it lol I usually just use a low sodium store entry too :) *Practical Tip* I always use a 1/3 measuring cup to fill a muffin tin and freeze them into little pucks and then put them in a baggie, it's convenient to not have to measure and takes up…
  • They are great frozen! I keep a bag in the freezer in general to munch on, I've let them thaw before and I thought they tasted the same as never frozen grapes, I can't remember if they were any less crisp though. I eat pretty much the same thing all the time, each week I might throw in a different dish to make a few times…
  • Tubthumping by Chumbawamba, if you want a fire you up song that's it right there lol Some other good ones are Fight Song-Rachel Platten, Walkin' On The Sun-Smash Mouth, Shut Up And Dance- Walk The Moon, Traitor-Daughtry, Castles In The Sky- Dj Satomi (Fall Out Boy) Centuries, My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark,…
  • Oh yeah, I remember the first time I weighed pepper jack cheese for a burger, I had the saddest look on my face and was just like, "Really?" My husband was laughing so hard he had to hold onto the counter, it's a precious memory now but boy was it a reality check at the time! :D
  • When I think of the giant bowls of pasta I used to consume, the horror *faints* :D I love my scale, my husband and I don't eat or make anything without weighing it first lol I have a pretty large collection of recipes saved on here and I edit them every time to reflect anything that changes even .1 of an ounce (sadly no…
  • Eating a specific food isn't going to give your weight loss a power up unfortunately, just stay within your calorie deficit and you'll lose, stick with it! :) I personally keep around a bag of Hershey's special dark chocolate chips so I can just eat one or two when I'm craving chocolate, it's only a few calories and it…
