Spend some quality time researching nutrition Good is fuel for your body to functions and fuel your daily activities If you want to run 10K or bike 50 miles you need some fuel. There is often an optimal mix to go for If you are recovering from a hard lifting day, there is an optimal mix If you just want to drop a pound a…

Seems you have a relationship with food that yields unhealthy behavior It is a "relationship" issue. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Lots have that sort of thing. Please consider talking with a professional to see how you can regain control of food

It just seems to happen all over and then as a few months go by I see some muscle group or body curve I used to not see Right now I am seeing some veins appearing in my obliques and sides. Body fat is in the 12.5-13% range so changes from dropping 5 pounds seem more dramatic than 100 pounds ago. It has been 2 years. Going…

I'm up early getting ready for a bike ride Find a fun activity Make some new friends Tell them you will join them for rides... You are kind of on the hook then !! If you don't want to make the effort then you will fail. This won't happen by itself. Make up your mind you want it! Do the deficit and add exercise you like.…

I have had a Polar HRM, and have a Garnin Vivo Smart At this time I use an app to calculate my calorie burns for cycling. Weight lifting is not a good activity for any of those little monitors to record. I don't count steps. It is just part of my day and not a true exercise beyond daily activity level So the answer is...…

Carbs are really optional as long as I have excess body fat When I hit single digit fat, I will worry about carbs more Until then they are like flirting with an addiction

^^^ Very true And I ate an 11.5 ounce ribeye before my 50 mile ride today. Followed by 10 wings There was a muscle milk during the ride. It takes too long to add muscle. I love riding and today was an awesome ride, but conservation of muscle mass is a definite consideration.

I do too If I get booted off MFP for attempting to direct people wanting more info about lower carb eating to the low carb group.... So be it There are lots of other forums.

Yes Absolutely I do burn off glycogen quickly doing a 3000 calorie burn ride. I have been at this a while and have lots of extra muscle mass. Diet is primary for most people. The vast majority. I would say unless you are really into some intense cardio and HIIT type 100% HRM level exercise to put your primary emphasis on…

It is a process to get what people call fat adapted Google this Mitochondria endurance training It isn't new. The NFL and lots of endurance athletes do it. You basically retrain your body to use a higher mix of fat as fuel instead of all carbs. You literally become a fat burning matchine It takes a month or so to feel it.…

I exercise lots, and intensely at times Today was a good long hard ride in the hill country. Panting sweating and basically full exertion at times climbing insane hills.... As part of a long 50 mile ride. Yes I know it is almost crazy. I have lost 140 pounds of fat on this way of living. And exercise is a big part of it Me…

It is all lobg burned off. So I'm still net zero carbs for the day! I probably won't get many more carbs Grilled ribs are low carb Mmmmm

I will notice skin oil more when I am losing more. Some additional breakouts I asked my Dr and he said when you run on fat, your body does not care if it is dietary or body fat It s still burning low grade fuel. I am positive it is not hormone cycle related in my case!

I agree with this ^^^ To the OP: Calorie deficit may come thru happy accident when we are grossly overweight When I weighed 140 pounds more than I do now, I ate lower carb and more fibrous veggies. I just could not eat enough of that food to maintain my weight. It is too filling. So I did not count calories and lost…

Spinning and Cycling ❤️ Awesome exercise! I cycle around 120-150 per week. A solid hundred on the weekend and then a few quickies during the week Keep your protein up It is easy to incinerate calories on a bike one you get in shape. Tomorrow is a 50 mile ride in the hills and it will be 2500-2800. If you cycle in some hard…

What I had for lunch. Calling it 1200 calories. Not an obsession but a fun social event at work. It will require a 20 mile bike ride to break even. Kind of... I would have had 450 for lunch anyway so it is 600 or so over

Peace is a good thing We have a peaceful little group I appreciate that! I do low carb quite a bit differently than most and still always feel welcome! We look for common ground and share solutions I like it

My dr say I get 5 years younger every time I see him! Fitness just helps everything. Definitely takes the years off!!
