@ Sext stef -A human can be addicted to any number of things, (including sugar), shopping, gambling and any type of addiction will most likely make your life miserable. I live in a state that is ranked Number two for most deaths caused by overdoses (usually heroin, but we still have problems with opioid addiction as well).…

I lost weight very slowly (over a three year period) and worked out during my weight loss and I did not encounter any problems with saggy skin. I am not really sure what will help...Others may know but maybe beef up your workouts include some HIT and tougher strength training...Good Luck to you.

No anger issues. :)

I never go to a gym - too cheap to pay for one. :) I use my home for workout videos and strength training - I purchased my own free weights. I use the great outdoors to walk, run and hike. I use the 10,000 steps program @ work, but for me I double that in a day just by going outside.

AWESOME!!!!

Yep. I love, love, love red cokes loaded with all the sugar. They are just empty calories no matter how good they taste! I had to give them up completely. I can't drink even one because if I do I want another, and another and so on. Instead I drink coffee, tea, lots and lots of H20! Just start out reducing your intake of…

I take a brisk walk, eat something crunchy like an apple or carrots. Tea helps too. My favorite is orange spice with a little honey. Reading helps me too. Stress eating was a big problem for me not so long ago, but I replaced it with a few of my favorite things. :)

@ 235 playing poker @ size 16W. @ 155 working out @ size 8. Thanks for sharing all.

I count calories, and portion sizes. I do eat what I want except no white bread, no soda (diet or otherwise) and no added sugar.
-
Always. It is a great tool to keep you on track. A portion size almost always surprises me.

Hi Connie, Lily. Good Luck! Sounds like you made some positive changes.
-
Naa...I like the free stuff. Lol
-
I really like green tea. It is good with honey and cinnamon.

You are so right. Have a well-stocked fridge with ready to eat veggies. I love the laughing cow wedges for a snack. Filling and about 35 calories.

Hi! Lily here, best of luck. I just jumped back on fitness pal. But it works. I have lost almost 80 pounds (took my time...) You are right. Don't try gimmicks, just healthy diet, exercise and healthy lifestyle.
-
First, sounds like fun! Nuts - almonds, walnuts, oatmeal, blueberries will most likely keep well. You can put both in oatmeal. Bring some cinnamon sticks for your coffee!

The web is a great resource as are health books, CDC, My Plate, Fitness Pal, etc. But I agree, you have to use health tools wisely. One thing I have learned...live healthy - what ever that means to you. For me it is eating my veggies (lots of them!), drinking my H20, staying positive, and being outdoors to walk, run, hike…

Diet really is a 4-letter word. When I decided to get healthy, I had to take a cooking class! I am a great Southern cook, and that is how I prepared food. I had to learn to eat, cook and live healthy. No room to be on a "diet".

Yes. I run about 5-8 miles 3 or 4 times a week. Took some time to get to this point. I bought a good pair of shoes and started out slowly. I read a lot of books about running too. Be at it about three years, no injuries. I run outside and truly enjoy it. This summer I worked on my speed. On the days when I am not running I…

Hi I am 58, and I have lost almost 80 pounds. Patience. Lol. It has taken me three years to get healthy. I do think it is tougher for women over 40, 50 and more to lose weight. But it can be done. Be active and embrace a healthy lifestyle.
-
Many will not agree...but for it was better to go slow. It took me almost three years to loose almost 80 pounds. The benefits? No sagging skin, slowly changed my lifestyle into one that is healthy in all areas. So...I think it is o.k if it takes a while to reach your goals. It sounds like you are doing everything right.…

If you really want chips. Have them. Lays makes very good baked chips. I buy those in the small individual bags. My entire family likes them.
-
Stay hydrated. So important and I agree stretch it out.
-
Lol. Some truth to not eating enough...complicates weight loss.
-
Lol. You bet it is! You can do it. I am 58 and over the past three years I have lost almost 80 pounds. Best of Luck to you. PS: I have never felt younger!

Fresh fruit is best. Strawberries, grapefruit don't have many calories at all.
-
I love a brisk walk on my lunch hour! I typically eat a piece of fruit and have lunch when I am finished, but I don't think it really matters. Do what works best for you.
-
Hello! You have to decide. Try exercise - cardio, strength training, yoga whatever you want. See how you look after a few weeks. It works, I am loosing inches, not pounds.

Congrats!
