Should I lose more weight?

hello! I'll try to keep this brief!
I was 177, wanted to hit 130 (I assumed I would be size 6). I'm 147 and realize I only need to be 140 for my goal size of being a size 6.
Technically I can fit into size 6 pants already.

I like how my figure looks, I've gotten compliments. The other day however I saw a picture someone snapped of me and I looked....well big. It embarrassed me. It didn't look in my eyes like I lost weight at all. I want to look nice in pictures too.
Does this mean a size six might not be small enough for me? I don't want to worry I look big in videos or photos. :(

Without seeing the picture in question, or another current picture, I couldn't begin to speculate.

Technically? LMAO! How does that work.

Seriously you can get unflattering pictures at different angles no matter what you weigh. Get to the size you're happy with and don't worry about it. I however you always look bad in pictures then perhaps a bit more of a size reduction is necessary. Just don't be overly concerned with impromptu photos.

Are you exercising at all - doing any strength training. I jiggly 6 vs a firm 6 will look a lot different. If you're not strength training maybe instead of focusing on losing more weight you need to focus on firming up??

A goal size isn't bad, but have you considered targeting your weight to the healthy level for your height? Hw tall are you? If 140 is within your healthy BMI range, good, worry about firming up if you're displeased, or even losing a few more lbs. If it's still in the overweight category, keep going. BMI is arbitrary ONLY TO AN EXTENT. For the majority of folks, it's a good general area of focus. I dunno how tall you are though, 147 is totally adequate for lots of heights, but would both be enormous on my small 5'2" frame as well as an overweight BMI listing.

That being said: Do what you need to do to be happy, and recognize that your body is not always going to cooperate and sometimes acceptance is a good thing;)

    My thoughts exactly.

Proceed with caution! I say this because I initially had a weight/size goal, from 244 to 150 - size 10/12, as noted above a fit vs. firm body will make all the difference. In the range of 155-146 I wear a 2/4. My profile picture is me at 150 (those pants are too big for me now and that tops skims over my hips now).

I would suggest not focusing on the scale for a while and work on body composition, build some strength. The thing that happens when we build up our strength we don't focus so much on the scale and mirrors/photos. I now the struggle, to think that if we get the scale to show a certain number we will finally be okay . . . more than likely you won't.

    Best wishes!

Only you can decide if you look how you want to look. If your physique isn't where you want it to be, than you should keep pursuing goals, even if your goals have to change to fit what you want your body to look like. I will say that even at a very low body fat, pictures from certain angles or in certain lighting will always be unflattering. If you feel your weight is at a good spot but your physique is still lacking, as others have pointed out, strength training is probably the missing ingredient.

Hello! You have to decide. Try exercise - cardio, strength training, yoga whatever you want. See how you look after a few weeks. It works, I am loosing inches, not pounds.

I think the fact that you aren't focusing on scale weight so much, is great. Getting into the healthy range then working on composition is a common sense way of going about things!

Focusing on clothing size will mess you up. A size 12 in the 60s translates to a modern size 6 (in the US). Standards have been thrown out the window and are useless unless you are going by measurements for custom sewn clothing.
You may very well not like your body fat % per lean mass ratio. Using a strength training program while eating at a slight deficit will help "sculpt" and reduce inches without dramatic scale changes. I think that you'll like the end result a lot more than if you just concentrated on a caloric deficit.

Hi all! Sorry I didn't give enough information!
I bought a size juniors 9 pants which is the same as a woman's six. I can put them up and on and buttoned but they still feel tight. That's why I said technically.

As for working out I actually do work out. Typically 3-6 times a week I run up stairs and walk back down monitoring my heart rate. I burn about 300-700 calories each time.

I sometimes do barbell bench? I think?

I don't think I'm super jiggly since its apparent I lost a lot of fat but I wouldn't say I'm tight either. To be blunt I'm not quite sure how to lose more fat and gain muscle and tightness without dropping more weight?

Thanks to all for the advice. I guess I imagined I would look much better in photos now that I dropped weight. Apparently impromptu ones may not count lol

Look into a lifting program like strong lifts or new rules of lifting for women. You're not going to "gain muscle" in a deficit or running up & down stairs.

I wouldn't base what is a "good" or not weight for me on what clothing size I can fit into. Given the wide variation in sizing between manufacturers, that makes no sense at all to me. I think how you feel physically and how you feel about yourself mentally are much more important than whatever number is on a clothing tag.

My base came from the fact that I was a size 11 in juniors for most of my life. Silly as it may seem I didn't get excersising or CICO until about a year ago when I made a fit friend.
So I always wanted to be a size "9" juniors/ 6 women's. And now I'm mostly there, I like my leg sizes now. I don't know how "good" an excuse that is lol but yeah, my excuse is I wanted to be this size/weight for awhile and thought I would fight to get there :)!
