I also have PCOS. The reason for the low carbs is because of the insulin resistance and causing type 2 diabetes. I have been using MFP and have lost over 60 lbs. I did change the Carb percentage lower but I still have carbs and I have been fine. If you follow your calorie intake and exercise you will be successful. The…

I use my Fitbit with my fitness pal. I actually sync it on my phone. I have the Fitbit app and My Fitness pal. I usually sync my Fitbit first then I will open my Fitness Pal and it will sync the exercise to it. Sometimes I will close out the app and reopen My Fitness Pal after I have synced my Fitbit to the Fitbit app.…

I googled it and it says eat anything you want for 5 days, fast for 2 days. I know a lot of people do the intermittent fasting but it does not work for me. My job is physically demanding and I need my energy. I hope it goes well for you. Good luck with your journey!!

I am here with you all. I am 50 and perimenopausal. I have lost 70lbs but I still have 60 to go and of course it is all in my middle! I look like a golf ball on a tee!! UUGGHH!! The thing I hate the most is the cramps. I never had cramps until I got in my 40's and now that I am 50 it feels like someone has my right ovary…

I quit sodas about a year ago. I drink water, teas and coffee. I really don't miss it but at first it was hard. You want the taste with your meals or just by itself. The best way for me was to cut back at first. I got the bottled drinks in 8 ounces. I would drink half of the bottle with my meal. I just weened myself off of…

I have actually gained weight eating back my exercise calories. I tried it for a week just to see and I gained weight. I have learned to eat back only a small portion of them because exercise calories are not always accurate. Even my Fitbit gives me too many calories so I just modify. Everyone is different. I wish I was…

I agree Nicole. I also have PCOS. I have lost over 100 lbs total. Since I have been using MFP 67 lbs. It is a little harder but you can do it! You have to find what works best for you and just do it! No excuses. Calories in, calories out. As far as family is concerned just have a very frank conversation with them and tell…

Mine does not adjust automatically. I go into settings and update my diet profile with my new weight and save it then my calories update as well. I have lost over 60lbs and I always have to update it to get the calories to change.

At my heaviest I was 325 lbs. I am now down to 219 lbs. I first lost 40 lbs and kept that off for about a year and then I lost 20 more and kept it off for about another year. I have now lost down to what I currently weigh and I keep at it everyday. I still have a ways to go but I feel so much better and I have my life…

My doctor had me set my carbs at 30%, fats 30% and protein at 40%. Everyone is different. I feel I need the carbs because I work physically hard at my job and I come home to workout. They satisfy my hunger and I can stay in my calorie goals with deficit. I have tried low carbs/more protein-high fat but I stayed hungry all…

Coffee and tea have plenty of caffeine. My stomach can not tolerate any thing carbonated. I have not had soda in so long I can not remember the last time I drank one! I drink water, tea, milk and coffee. You morning teas have a large amount of caffeine if that is what you are missing!

Me too. I am 50!

Check your settings. Do you have a Fitbit or another tracker attached to your MFP? There is a negative setting box that got checked on mine. I tried unchecking it and all but it finally fixed itself!!

I have PCOS. Hormones play a huge row in weight gain and weight loss. It is very easy to gain and very hard to lose. It you continue to gain weight go to the doctor and have your hormones checked. I understand how frustrating it can be. Also if you are going to the gym, check with a trainer about your exercising regime and…

I also have PCOS. Losing weight is very difficult but you can do it. At my highest it was 325 and now I am down to 254. I still have a challenging road ahead but with MFP I am winning. Thank you TmacMMM for your advice. I will start trying to add that into my daily routine for my diet and exercising. Wishing everyone good…
