And if weight loss were achieved by a simple change in exercise plan, than we wouldn't have dozens of posts a day in the forums from people demanding to know why they haven't lost any weight even though they started a new exercise plan.5 -
Muscle weighs more than fat so maybe your workouts are working and you're losing fat. Do your clothes fit differently? Have you had a caliper test to measure your fat % age? It may not be as bad as you think.0

I wish I could gain muscle in my thighs and butt, I would also like to know the secret to going to the gym for a month and gaining so much my pants rip.8

I have lost 175 Lbs in just over 14 months. I log all my meals and exercise on MFP. I understand that everyone has their own way of doing things. I certainly do. I will even log things I am thinking about eating because it makes me question whether I really want to eat that item. I started really high 378 Lbs. I have a real issue with salt or sodium. Anything with high sodium with make me gain weight in a short amount of time. You certainly need sodium in your diet but I find I have to moderate my intake. I once went a day without eating sodium and the next day miraculously I had lost 3 Lbs. When I went back to my normal routine the next day I gained it all back and it took me 2 more weeks to lose that 3 Lbs again.
You obviously want to do this really bad and I believe you can do this. Don't under estimate the power of friends on MFP because we all need encouragement. I wish you the best luck on your journey. My last piece of advice is that a lot of weight loss is a mental exercise and if you let the weight of the world down on your shoulders it will be really easy to say "What the heck!" and go to back to worse habits. I've done that a million times myself. I tend to be harder on myself than anyone could be. On those days where I seem to be churning my wheels in mud, it is even more important that I keep telling myself how wonderful I am doing and that I am doing all the right things.
I had a thought last summer that might help. I thought what would I have felt like if I hadn't started this journey.

What info can you not just post here?
OP, I'd be wary of people trying to sell you anything or give advice in PM on here.
Stick with the advice given on the main forum.7 -

Also the fact that he can't add people makes me suspicious.4 -

Radioactive spider?
I was thinking more getting caught in the blast radius of a gamma bomb. As a side effect, the pants turn purple.4 -

I feel like you guys are accusing me of lying about what I eat. So why don't you just come right out and say it. If I had been eating like a pig then yeah. I would understand why I'm not losing weight, and wouldn't have bothered to make a post. but what the hell. I'm following the "move more eat less" motto and all I've done is gain. Am I doing the wrong workouts? I usually do 20 mins of high intensity elliptical, 10 mins of stairs, and 20 mins of high intensity rowing in a day, then I go to work where I'm on my feet all day. Am I doing the wrong things at the gym? I don't want gains, I don't want to bulk up. I just want to slim down. Don't get me wrong. I like seeing my muscles more prominant, but I also don't want to keep gaining. My legs and thighs are getting really bulky. Is it from the cardio?
Lay off the "you're probably eating like a cow" comments okay? It's already been asked 5+ times and the answer is no. If you don't have anything helpful and nonsarcastic to add, please do me a favor and unfollow this post.
Let's see the actual journal.

I bet it's water weight. I have 3lbs of water weight I'm carrying right now that I know will be gone by tomorrow morning.
Also, you should want muscle... But if you don't, simply stop working out at don't exceed 1200 calories a day. That simple. Really.
I haven't worked out all week (surgery; Doc's orders!) And I've still lost weight with just a caloric deficit.0 -
Also OP, at 180lbs you're not going to lose that fast. Patience, determination.0

You have very few days that you've logged your food. If you eat well and are active, it will show on the scale.0

Why do you keep mentioning your *kitten*?0

I have PCOS. Hormones play a huge row in weight gain and weight loss. It is very easy to gain and very hard to lose. It you continue to gain weight go to the doctor and have your hormones checked. I understand how frustrating it can be. Also if you are going to the gym, check with a trainer about your exercising regime and your concerns about your legs bulking up. They should be able to help you with an alternative option that may help you not build as much muscle in your legs. Good Luck!

When you click "print food diary" at the bottom of the diary page, it makes a useful presentation. Instead of writing it down by hand on paper, you could have this copy and save yourself some time. Good luck!1
