  • Difficult question, every book I read changes something in me  Anyone else like that? Also, I've read Harry Potter and the Cursed child last week...I couldn't put it down but I can't say I was REALLY impressed  What do you all think?
  • I totally understand what you're going through :( I think there can be 2 solutions to our problem; either eliminate the habit of eating while doing something else, like watching TV, or switching to low calorie snacks like carrots, cucumbers and fruit. Eliminating the habit can happen gradually by deciding to stop snacking…
  • I'm currently reading the god delusion by Richard Dawkins and planning to go through a Stephen King novel after I finish. I have the Dark Tower series in mind, I just hope it's really good because a friend of mine will be trying King for the first time I don't want him to be put off. What do you all think?
  • Agatha Christie, Penny Louise, Harry Potter...we should be friends right away  gonna check out the rest  sounds good!
  • high five!!! I love I'm number Four and am waiting for "united as one"  The hunger games is also a favourite of mine! Kindred spirit
  • Nay, if I decide to abandon a certain type of food, it's for good. Easier for me this way
  • New information for me :hushed: so no starvation mode but slightly slower rate of weight loss. Still, if she's not eating enough calories, she might not be getting all essentials vitamins and minerals, so it wouldn't be good for health. Thanks for pointing out my error
  • After excluding all health conditions that could lead to this, maybe you can try a plant-based diet. It worked magic for MANY people in terms of weight loss, so I suppose it won't harm to give it a shot :
  • Your body has probably gone into starvation mode because of the reduced calorie intake, which then makes weight loss very difficult. This is "the body's natural response to long-term calorie restriction. It involves a reduction in the amount of calories your body burns, which can slow down weight loss." So try to increase…
  • Same thoughts! :disappointed: :disappointed: I wish they'd invent low-calorie nuts  They're so damn delicious!
  • I didn't notice that :pensive: I mostly focus on micronutrients "mainly iron and calcium" so everything else is overlooked. Will try to increase my protein intake! Thank you very much
  • That's a very good idea. I do have a digital food scale but when I eat too much I don't log it in :persevere: I'll try to get a zip log baggie! Thanks
  • Nobody's too old for Hogwarts! Hope you enjoy them
  • Yeah I get your point. Well I'm kinda planning not to do that again  Staying within my caloric limit proved to be difficult. Thanks
  • I've read several articles about this topic because I eat so much fruit. I came to the conclusion that it's ok to eat as much as you want -unless you have diabetes. Fruit has fiber and other nutrients that make them really healthy, unlike white sugar and refined carbs.
  • Maybe you can pick something light to get you back on track. I'm currently reading Anne of the Green Gables, it's very light-hearted and funny
  • Yeah  I read the Sword of Summer and it was pretty good! Thanks  Will definitely read it soon
  • I'm following a plant based diet so I'm only consuming whole foods/slightly cooked, so I can measure exactly how much salt I use  Got it! Thanks
  • Living near a library is a blessing  We had one across the street
  • I have been planning to read the Trials of Apollo "I'm a Rick Riordan fan" can you share your thoughts on it?
  • High five!! Poirot with his egg shaped head has been close to my heart since middle school  And the first novel I ever read for Stephen King was Mr Mercedes, was epic and since then I have been devouring his books like a starved! Will read the oddessy and how to kill a mockingbird soon!
  • Yeah I have the series and hopefully will get to it soon "after I finish East of Eden, which is awesome" What's the title of your book? Perhaps we can check it out "btw, this is so cool!"
  • Thanks! Will give it another shot once I finish the Steinbeck book I'm reading  What are you currently reading? ;)
  • 3-5 books a week! I finish 2 and a half and people gape at me  Keep up the great work!!!
  • I do that actually!! Time doesn't exactly flow by but it's more efficient
  • How is it? :star: I stopped at A clash of Kings :/
  • Thank you all  This has been very helpful!
  • Your joints have been doing that for how long? We don't have to see a doctor right?
  • I think you're right  I'm watching my body as if it's about to implode or something  Thanks!
  • I have aa stationary bike and I do a little bit of cardio, but the popping started after I stopped exercising. It happens in almost all joints, especially shoulder and knee. Hope you're feeling better now  Thank you so much for your help!
