Thank you! I think this was one of the first times that stepping back on the scale actually helped my mental state rather than hurting it. I'm definitely feeling a lot calmer about the process ahead. @imastar2 Change and weight loss are so hard! It sounds like you've got some great ideas to plan ahead and track…

Back to tracking on MFP, I like their database

And weigh in day arrived. After a week of watching my food I'm only 5lbs up! I'm counting that as a huge win
-
I once went on a macro counting website that recommended I eat my body weight in protein grams. I gagged at the thought and ran far far away! That being said, I do try to hit around 100 grams a day because I find it makes me feel more satiated.

Too true!, you don't appreciate it until it's gone!

Certainly correlation not causation, but that is a very strong correlation to disregard, especially since there are so few studies on long term maintainers (likely because it is such a small portion of the population that keeps the weight off long term). Any habit tips I can get from successful maintainers to increase my…

I didn't track my food since the last time I posted here (so it's been awhile!), but I did still make healthy choices and kept up with my activity. My weight is definitely up, but since my pants are just starting to get a little tight I'd guess it's not by more than 10lbs. I guess we'll see on my weigh in day

I'm a routine type of person, so I get a lot of comfort in knowing what to expect. I like that every morning is my time to walk the neighborhood with my dogs and that I already have all my lunches packed for the week so I don't have to worry about them. I plan different lunches and dinners every week, but the portioning…

Thanks for the welcome back @myallforjcbill and @misterhub! @minimyzeme Thank you so much for the insights! I absolutely agree with sustainability. Last time I was here I was eating around 2000 calories a day and focusing on 1/2lb a week so I don't know if I'd call myself all-in with dieting, but with my type A personality…

Exercise to me is about maintenance. You can lose weight without exercise, but based on the National Weight Control Registry (94% of individuals increased activity) you need exercise to help keep the weight off. Plus, for me, a huge part of losing weight is staying healthy as I age. Exercise is a key component to making…

I remember that! Although I got my favorite brownie recipe from this era of Weight Watchers (can of black beans, brownie mix, and water). I have a hard time with Freestyle feeling too restrictive unless you're eating off of the prescribed food list (and as someone who can easily eat 4 bananas a day, it didn't seem like a…

Thank you all for your insights and great advice! @linmueller I'm glad to be back, thank you for the words of encouragement! @countcurt I love the idea of not having a relationship with it at all. Emotional eating has been with me for so many years it feels like a mountain. My change this week is going to be tracking, back…

@gymprincess1234 Sounds like a yummy wrap. Do you have any preferences on where you're posted next? @HGSmith0920 I'm glad you're getting a break too. It is hard to enjoy with money stress looming, I hope your interview works out! @rachelcalsbeek Let me know how the spaghetti squash turns out! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! Sadly I…

@HGSmith0920 What a frustrating situation! You definitely should not be blamed for that occurring. Congrats on the loss! @rachelcalsbeek How was your Valentines Day cheat day? And I feel you with picking apart everything. Even when I'm at my smallest I still think in my head that I should be even smaller. @gymprincess1234…

I agree with @gadgetgirlIL, daily treats definitely make things better. I don't have to binge all the oreos because there will always be another serving that I can have tomorrow. I'll also add finding an activity you actually like. Spending hours on the elliptical or spin bike was mind numbing torture for me. I didn't…

@HGSmith0920 I'm so glad the interview went well! And it's good that you were upfront. I'll be honest, I'm curious on the fraud story but I would understand if you don't want to share it. @gymprincess1234 Thank you for your kind words. And PMS is THE WORST! I hope distracting yourself works @Evamutt I hope you recover…

I'm clearly very clever in my username choice ;) My name is Rachel and 0778 used to be my lunch code in high school and it's just stuck around for when I need to add random numbers to something.

@HGSmith0920 I'm with you there. I primarily do my grocery shopping at Aldi (discount grocer) and it saves me $20/week! Good luck on the interview, I bet you'll do great! @desertathletegirl Welcome! @gemwolf110 Congrats on the upcoming grad degree, what are you looking to pursue? Welcome @adelinue! @gymprincess1234 I love…

I love all these victories! I've been cultivating a healthier relationship with food and I feel like it's going really well. I haven't stepped on the scale in almost 6 months and all my clothes still fit. I still track my food, I still make a conscious effort to get activity in, but I'm not letting it weigh me down like it…
-
@Evamutt I'm so sorry that sounds awful! I hope you have a swift recovery Thank you @gymprincess! Your thai soup sounds amazing, nothing plain and the same about that! @HGSmith0920 I'm a big fan of the admin side of things. I like getting into more of the decision making side of things as well as student outreach. There…

From the millennial in the group, "woo" can be negative when in reference to something that is BS. Example: I would reference homeopathy, reflexology, reiki as all "woo".

I walk to work every day. It adds almost 2 miles of daily activity that I don't even think about. I also pretend I'm afraid of elevators so I always use the stairs. My cutoff for climbing is 20 flights so I rarely have to take an elevator.

Winter sucks. I live in Minnesota and it's just awful this time of year. It's dark all the time and it just takes more effort to get out of the house and do things. Plus I don't have the benefit of all the extra dog walks I do in the summer. That being said, I have less social events around this time of year so there are…
-
Welcome back @SusanDSME and @rachelcalsbeek ! So glad to have you both back on the forum! @SusanDSME Winter is a hard time for me too. When it's this cold I have to make a concerted effort to get out and get some activity in or it just doesn't happen @rachelcalsbeek If my work blocked the site I'd be MIA too!…

I usually eat out about once a week. I like my own cooking better most of the time, ethnic restaurants being the exception. I can never compete with Vietnamese Pho, Indian Curries, or Thai Spring Rolls. I don't think I overdo it too much. I just track it and move on.

@HGSmith0920 The college I work at has a team :) Congrats on the loss!!! Sorry to hear Halo Top is so expensive where you are at. It's $3.50 at Walmart here @gymprincess1234 I honestly have no idea what's in Canada supermarkets. Skippy crunchy or creamy naturals are my favs :) @Evamutt Glad you're back at the rescue! Happy…

@HGSmith0920 Great job getting a good burn and helping out your godmom! Plyometrics is basically jump training. It tends to be high intensity interval training focused on jumps (jump squats, jump lunges, burpees, etc). @Evamutt Just check to see where the fish is sourced and you should be fine :) And that goes for all…

Happy Birthday!!!

2012 was when I had my dramatic weight loss drop, so it's been a long time since I saw the shock and amazement (this recent round is just vanity pounds). I still get surprised when people describe me as "small". That still just doesn't feel right!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!! Got up early this morning to get the house straightened up and to fit a workout in. My shoulders are SORE from Wednesday and Thursday so I focused more on plyometrics today. Today started out a little rough already, I forgot my coffee at home :( I have no motivation to work today but I'll have to power…
