My husband just told me that he no longer wants to be married to me. I want to show him what he is missing out on. I have a little bit of the revenge bod streak running through me at the moment.

Intelligence and smile. And they must value family.

I would live off of sweets if it were socially acceptable. The older I have gotten and reflected on my relationship with sweets, the more convinced I am that sugar addiction is a real thing. Pie, cake, ice cream - you name it, I love it all! I have never tried to give up soda before. I'm hoping it will help to curb…

Yes, I know this. Haha. I think it usually helps in terms of helping to reduce cravings for sweets, thereby lowering your caloric intake. So indirectly I've heard it helps with weight loss.

Sorry if this is TMI, but my pee is usually medium yellow. I feel like it should probably be lighter. As far as my diet, it's not super full of watery foods. Today, I had a Fage Greek yogurt flip, stuffed cabbage rolls, 1/2 c blueberries, 1 c of watermelon. @TheWJordinWJordin - you may be right that it is a family thing. I…

Just for today - 9/6 1. Don't drink any soda (trying to finally give this up!) 2. Avoid late night snacking 3. Log my dinner (I already have breakfast and lunch covered!) 4. Get back to the gym for the first time in a LONG time! 5. Start getting tomorrow's lunches packed tonight

No, I wouldn't say that there is a calorie limit. We are given direction as participants in the potluck to "bring something healthy". Usually that means no cookies, brownies, etc. :-) I just am better when it comes to baking and dessert ideas (hello, sweet tooth!), so I wanted to shake things up and get some fresh ideas…

My boss is dairy free and I have another coworker who is vegan. They both really like the recipes from the blog The Minimalist Baker.

Another idea - and again this is tex mex (can you tell it's a favorite of mine?) - is to do burrito bowls. If you haven't tried quinoa before, this would be a great way to try it because it doesn't dominate the dish. You can make whatever protein you want - chicken, beef, turkey, carnitas (I like chicken breasts, taco mix,…

It sounds like in addition to being a picky eater, you may also get bored with certain things quickly. I am also like that. I can't stand the idea of eating a plain old grilled chicken breast. I once made this soup recipe I found online - it's like a tex mex chicken soup. Yes, it is chicken. However, it didn't turn me off…

Love reading your thread. I'm not sure that I could do what you're doing. I live in Wisconsin, and the only other "food" that maybe comes before cheese is beer. I have wanted to try this lifestyle though - just because I'm curious. Your comments crack me up.

I feel your pain. I am definitely not a fan of exercising now, but it was far worse when I first started. Therefore, going to the gym required a lot of reminding myself that I was wasting money if I didn't go. Then I discovered an evening water aerobics class in my town. And I have always LOVED the water. I did water…

@ninerbuff no, i do not do any resistance training right now. i have been using the elliptical for about a year now (some times more regularly than others), so wouldn't the muscles have found their groove by now? one of my friends suggested using a roller before and after. what do you think? @ksenya03 my toes get a little…

i would strongly suggest eggs in the morning for breakfast if you find yourself really hungry for lunch. i have found - after trying various things - that eggs really stick with me the longest. they are a good source of protein, relatively low on calories, and pretty cheap too! i like to take 2 hard boiled eggs with me to…

Coconut in many forms - don't like raw coconut or drinks made with coconut (coconut water, Frappuccinos with coconut milk, etc). HOWEVER, I absolutely love curries made with coconut milk. Go figure. I also dislike black licorice. I haven't ever tried liver or kidney, but I can't really bring myself to try them simply…

goes golfing with buddies on the weekends, but really goes more for the beer than the golf

I'll do it!

Thank you for sharing this! It's very uplifting. :-)

Everyone knows how hard can be to get back on track once you fall off the wagon, right? My NSV is that I have gotten back on the wagon and am in an excellent state of mind right now. I feel great and confident and willing to discipline myself in terms of food.

nope. my daughter has been begging me to participate in summer dance so she can be in the nutcracker production next year though. that's how they get you to pay more money...you can only participate IF you give us more money during the summer. UGH. Do you like shwetty balls? lol

Hi Trina. I understand your frustration. It is the worst disappointment in the world when you think you have done so much to lose weight and the scale doesn't budge. 2247 calories sounds a bit high. I currently weigh more than you (yes, I also have a lot to lose!), and MFP calculates my calories at 1810 in order to lose 2…

Because I have always had self-confidence problems. I want to feel better about myself. There are other benefits as well - like keeping up with my daughter, fitting into airline seats, being able to finish a 5K, etc. However, ultimately I am doing it to improve confidence in myself.

i have quite a bit to lose, but i started to feel it around the 30 pound mark. i'm down about 50 now, and i agree that some days now i feel bigger than when i first started. just depends on the day.

I usually do about 30-40 minutes on the elliptical, and I always enter my weight and age onto the machine when I do it. I find that the machine tells me I burn about 100 calories/10 minutes...roughly. So 30 minutes is usually around 300 calories. However, if I put 30 minutes into mfp it gives me a really big number of…

Way to go! It's important to step outside of your comfort zone sometimes. Also, changing up your regular routine helps to keep your body guessing!

What?! No fellow Badgers here?! (I'm from Wisconsin, USA - the land of beer and cheese)
