A complete stranger asked me yesterday how much weight I'd lost. I obviously must have looked at her a bit oddly as she then said that she sees me nearly every day out walking (seems I go past her house) and that she really likes the fact that my children are usually with me. She then said that she's noticed how much I've shrunk and just wondered how much I'd lost!
That totally made my day.67 -
I suffered a shoulder injury recently, that compounding with other injuries kept me out of the gym for months. Recently most of my injuries have gotten much better so I have slowly been testing the waters.
Today I did 15 minutes on the elliptical machine (E-Mach as I like to call it) at a moderate level and three sets of P/U's 4x3x3 I also did 6 this morning when I woke up. No ill-effects in fact I could have pushed harder on the E-Mach. Baby steps!
Considering I just started testing things a week ago I'm feeling really great about that.21 -
The loss of chocolate as one of my four major food groups has been one of my biggest challenges while losing weight. So I figured out how to squeeze it in. Every day I put 9 Hershey Kisses (1 serving) in a bowl and I get to eat them whenever I'm overcome with need. And I log it of course. My NSV is over the past week, almost every morning when I go to refill my bowl there have been one or more kisses left in the bowl--THAT I FORGOT ABOUT! I'm thinking I may actually be weaning myself off of them inadvertently!55

That is really cool! I'm a chocoholic and have some every night. Sometimes I just eat it out of habit, rather than want or hunger. I need to find a neat solution like this.2 -

I think part of the trick is that since I know I can have it, I don't get panicky or obsessed about it--so I'm not thinking about it as much.10 -
This might be the biggest NSV for me of all. I've been on MFP since July 25 2016 and have lost a little over 30 lbs and dropped from 22W to size 16 pants. All this time, my husband has tolerated my changed eating habits and put up with my need to exercise, but he did not join in the fun. Yesterday he said, "OK - how does this Fitness Pal logging stuff work? Can you set me up on it too? I want to lose weight like you are doing."
HE SIGNED UP AND STARTED LOGGING! And he made snack packs of carrots for both of us to take to work! I'm so excited that he has seen the light - I know not to push him too hard too fast but WOW! I am so happy for him! Sorry for all the exclamation points but I'm sure some of you know how I feel.77 -
I bought a tube of Pringles the other day.
Last night I had a craving for them and ate 1/2 a serving. Seriously, I had 8 chips.
Not that long ago the tube would be gone in 2 sittings.23 -

Your tubes made TWO servings?!? Mine were only one.24 -
Everyone knows how hard can be to get back on track once you fall off the wagon, right? My NSV is that I have gotten back on the wagon and am in an excellent state of mind right now. I feel great and confident and willing to discipline myself in terms of food.26

Learned how to front squat on Monday and was able to do 3 sets of 90lb squats. That last rep of my final set was a huge struggle, but I did it.17

I just realized that I had neglected to share this on Success Stories ... My doctor has told me to stop taking lisinopril for high blood pressure. My appointment was last Saturday and they measured my bp at 118-82. I explained to the Dr that I had forgotten to take my med for several days. With that, she agreed that I no longer needed it.32

That is important to do. A lot of people fall off the wagon and just go down the downward slope. When you can catch yourself right away and just be real with yourself. Say get back on track. That is great you can do that! I had to learn how to do this even 3 or 4 days after eating like a pig. Once you can manage to put the train back on the rails after a misstep or two, you are golden. Good for you!
Oh and I am now a medium sized shirt instead of a large. We should all rejoice in our NSV's! Woohoo!14 -

I bought a new pair of work scrubs, several weeks back, they were too small, but I never got back to exchange them. Tonight, I tried them on, and they fit!17
-
Went shopping tonight at the local thrift shop looking for dressed pants.
Grabbed 3 pairs from the rack in the size 36 section the headed up to the fitting room. The first one was a no go, way to baggy. The second one I could barely fit in! WTF ??? The store tag says was a size 36 but the manufacturer's label is actually a 32! The last one fitted perfectly and is actually a 34, another mis-labelling.
Considering I used to wear size 40-42 just over 5 months ago I think this is a NSV for me :-)

My son had swim team at the Y and it's too cold out to do my usual walk with the dog. I ended up walking a 5k on the track at the Y.24

Funny, I just did the same today! All my belts are too long now but in to great shape to throw them away. The only problem is the loose end that becomes longer but not enough to reach the next belt loop ;-)6
