I've only been at this again for a week, and while I feel like I'm doing fine today after work I could not stop thinking about what I wanted to eat for dinner. It's a Friday night which usually means fried chicken, pizza, or McDonald's in a much larger portion than any one person needs. I tried to reason with myself that I had been so diligent this week with my food that I should take a small break. But I stopped and really thought about it. The chicken, corn, rice, hard boiled egg, apple, and yogurt that I am able to have with the rest of my daily calories will keep me much more satiated than the 10 nuggets and medium fries that I was so tempted to scarf down (and put me over my calorie limit). It's not a huge victory. I know that one meal won't make or break me. But its helping me to start breaking down the habits and mindset I have about eating.30

That IS a huge achievement. We call it "mindful eating". You're doing it!!!!7 -
I can't sleep on my side with my legs curled up together - my knees are too bony now and hurt where they touch...#skinnygirlproblems7

Today morning I was in a hurry so got dressed quickly. I just pulled out some really old bra from the drawer without realising that it was a size 38 B something I purchased in 2010ish. Till last year I was a size 42 B. Now I wear size 40. Time to update my lingerie drawer I guess. Yay!!!10

This week I have been able to wear yoga pants under my jeans, and a t-shirt and a sweater, they still looked too big. But, hey I was warm!6

was sick and felt to sick to go for my hike today and decided to take it easy by doing a 45 minute 6000 step walk with major hills. I love that that is my lazy day lol.15

My office Christmas luncheon was yesterday. It's a potluck with catered turkey, ham, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. I managed to find some veggies that weren't cooked in tons of butter, took some turkey, a little bit of the mashed potatoes, and some fruit. For dessert I had a small slice of key lime pie and a small cookie. Logged everything the best I could and managed to end the day within my calorie goal. The best thing was that while everyone else was walking around all afternoon talking about how stuffed they were, I felt fine and I still got to eat a little of everything I wanted to try!25

I just finished the 4th week of Strong Curves (bodyweight/at home). Since starting, I've been eating more calories (between 1500 and 1700 instead of 1200-1300), have lost about 1/2" everywhere, have lost a couple of lbs, and have gotten noticeably stronger each week. I am checking myself out in the mirror and sometimes can't believe it's me looking back. I might actually be growing a bit of a BOOTY. Highly recommend the book! On to week 5.11

Good for you!!!! Something that I read on another forum has really stuck with me....... "You're not a.dog. Don't reward yourself with food". I realized that I had been doing that Fridays are pizza night at our house. I make mine using a 170 calorie wrap for the crust and the usual veggies and some cheese. And I still have room in my calories for two glasses of wine. I love Fridays........lol10 -
I found my waist today!!!! I don't think I've ever had a waist. 47 pounds down and almost halfway!43 -
While deadlifting today I cut myself a little bit with the bar which cause a tiny amount of bleeding. I'm claiming the "V" part of "NSV" for this because I've read other people discuss their deadlifting cuts, now I've gone through that rite of passage too.15

My too-tight jeans are now comfortable. One pair is even loose!
Also, I was reading this thread tonight and got up out of my chair to WALK to my grocery store and pick up a few things I needed in the 34 degree freezing cold. Only 0.9 miles round trip, but I never would have done it a few months ago.28 -
I order 2 L shirts from hottopic because they had a $10 tee sale. I figured they wouldn't fit right away but a few more lbs and I'd be good. I tried them on and they fit!!!! So excited!!!!20

Looking good, Leah! I love my waist now, even though I have plenty of pounds left to lose and my belly is still too big - I look better from the front than from the side right now! I always catch myself admiring my new shape in the mirror when I'm getting dressed/undressed...8 -
I got back in the pool for the first time in at least 2 years (and maybe as long as 4-5) - the first time since weight loss.
I've never been a good swimmer, and I was worried that I might not even be able to float after losing 60 pounds of "natural buoyancy", let alone swim after that long a time without trying . . . but I didn't drown.
My swimming was (I think) kind of a train wreck . . . so only a little worse than last time I swam, rather than a lot worse, so that's a win for someone who had to take adult learn-to-swim classes in her 40s (around 15 years ago). Good thing the pool was essentially deserted! (I kept running into the lane buoy lines ).
Also, my new size-8 swimsuit (that replaced the size-18 swimsuit) worked out just fine - it didn't gape or droop embarrassingly or anything.28 -
I bought new running clothes is misses sizes. They are all XXL and from size-inflated Old Navy, but I'm still declaring it an NSV. I have missed having variety when I shop, especially in workout clothes.23

Tonight all my kids and my husband were in bed by 7:30 (family Christmas party slayed them all). A year ago I would've celebrated this with a lot of bad food, Netflix and online shopping. Tonight I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be great to move long run up a day since you have a photo shoot tomorrow night? Yeah, that sounds awesome." and half marathoned. #itsthelittlethings40

My most recent NSV was Wednesday at work. I was typing on the computer and noticed I could see the veins in my arm. I got so excited to tears. Usually when I have blood drawn or IV's I have to get stuck multiple times, no more!16

Yeah, sorry to burst your bubble but don't count on that being the case. It depends very much on who's doing the procedure, how skilled they are and how hydrated you are.
I have huge veins on the insides of my elbows (the median antecubital veins) and not many people can get blood out of them (unless they use a butterfly needle, the really thin ones). I have some tiny ones on the outer edges of the big fat vein (I think that they are the cephalic veins) and blood can always be drawn from those. The problem is, not many clinicians want to use the little veins (despite my telling them to) as they are concerned about missing and having to stick me again, which of course they invariably do as they went for the big fat vein . . .

My 5 year old son is using adjectives such as "fresh", "healthy" and "colorful" to describe our meals...32

Kind of hard to believe that I'm wearing a *small* pair of workout pants (purchased today). And, actually, I'm wondering if I could have gotten an extra-small. This time last year I was XXL.
My brain hasn't quite caught up yet -- all I see is that I still need to lose some weight. I've been up and down the same 3ish lbs for a couple months now -- grrrrr -- with about 10 more lbs to go, so this was a nice, pleasant surprise today.15 -

That's awesome - let's hope it continues into his teens and beyond!

My swimming was (I think) kind of a train wreck . . .
To paraphrase a certain cowboy... "That's not swimming... it's drowning with style!"
Did you enjoy yourself, though? That's the important thing!
I keep thinking maybe I should try swimming again (haven't been for goodness knows how many years, definitely at least 12-15), but if I don't wear my glasses in the pool I can't see well enough where I'm going. Which means I swim with my head at an awkward angle and give myself neck-ache! Perhaps at some point I'll be able to afford prescription swimming goggles and then I'll start going again.10 -
Went shopping and picked up 2 pairs of pants, a couple of shirts and a snowsuit. All hiding in bins in my basement. They all fit again.
Flip side of the coin. Last time I bought jeans I couldn't find any in the store my size (50WX30L) and had to buy them online. Wanted to see if I could find my current size (46W) in the store, not planning on buying anything. Found 50WX30L for $15. Kinda ticked me off a bit. To compensate, I bought my next 2 pairs of jeans at 44W and 42W as I couldn't pass up the $15. Not to work towards fitting into them.11 -
I did the first day of a couch to 5k program!28
