I finally went and bought a new bra yesterday after losing 22lbs (Yay!). Once I put it on with my clothes though it became obvious how ill fitting they are. I honestly had no idea I bad I looked What I thought was just slightly oversized is a baggy disaster. I'm happy clothes are too big but I'll have to find a cheap way to replace a few things in my wardrobe
Thrift stores, consignment shops or sale bargains at cheaper clothing stores...6 -
I just read 1000+ of these NSV (September to now) You are all so amazing! Congratulations everyone

Over heard my doctor after my appointment voice-recording my visit say "she is a healthy, very active lady." Simple words really, no fanfare or cheerleading given but very powerful to someone who has lost 65 lbs.
Wanted to go back in there to give him a big hug & kiss. It's taken me years to get here and feel proud of my body. Even though it wasn't said to me, I'll take it.52 -
I took a Buti yoga class yesterday. The instructor wanted me up front so I could see her since I was new. The class was great and something I couldn't have done confidently before.20

Lifting higher weights and seeing more muscle definition this week!15

Powering through the 5k I just ran. I started out trying to see how far I'd get. I have a sore throat, and my legs were a bit stiff at the start. I figured I'd stop at a mile...then I was shooting for the halfway point. I kept setting mini distance goals, and eventually got it done. 5ks in general aren't that big a deal for me, I usually do it three times a week. Completing this one felt great, though, because I didn't think I'd get it done.24

I am making a mass amount of cookies for a community event. Last night I finished 175of them, and did not swipe any dough, or eat even one cookie. Hopefully I can keep up until I'm done baking.32

I now run one hour at 8mph (no incline) as a "let's go easy today" workout.27

After -20lbs, got my first "you look like you're losing some weight there" ...22

Had to dig deeper into my closet for smaller pants and a smaller belt14

Non Scale Victory. Something other than the number on the scale that makes you feel good about your weight loss.-1 -
Went to Fatz last night for my mil's bday. I ate 0 of the poppy seed rolls with butter. And only 1/2 of my wrap to finish the day off under my calorie goal. Definitely a big deal since I can usually finish at least 6 (100 cal a piece) all on my own.20

Helpful Hint: You can often Google acronyms and discover the meaning.

I see:
Non scale victory
National Socialist Vanguard (neo-Nazi group in Oregon)
A 12.7mm caliber Russian gun
Nullsoft streaming video
Non-surgical vasectomy
Neighbourhoods for a sustainable Vancouver
No real harm in asking here.18 -

I did Google NSV a while back and figured it out (although the Vancouver group looks interesting ), but I got stuck on *kitten* and had to ask for help! Thanks to those who shared that it's the auto-edit for questionable language - as in, "got my fat *kitten* off the couch and started moving!"
And speaking of moving - my NSV - because I've been really trying with logging and exercise, I was able to work the past 4 weekends standing at the cash register at the Christmas tree farm without my knees giving out! I was hobbling a bit after the first couple days, but by this past weekend I was doing great!19 -

NSV's - Non-Scale Victories - are what keep you going when you have been doing all the right things and the scale is messing with your head.
You will learn to love having them - even more than the numbers on the scale, changing.
Good luck!5 -
I can almost see my collarbones. They don't jut out like I hope they will when I'm smaller, but I can feel them and see their outline in the right lighting.17

I don't base ALL of my goals or mindset on the BMI scale but I really enjoy comparing it. Can't wait for the day I'm all in the green!
(I hope this is still accepted as a NSV even though it does have to do with weight....even if it's not accepted, it's a victory for me!)30 -
I fit into a size large jogging pant last night...yes they are are strenchy but I haven't wore a large without a couple of xx in front for over 13 years!! I pranced around in those jogging pants even if they were old and had seen better days!!31

Maybe it's because it was cold but I ran 4.2 miles in 42 minutes at a 6.1 mph pace. That is way faster than I normally do! It also might have been because I was excited to get back to it since a migraine set me back like 5 days.27

Very busy at work these days culiminating in an assembly with about 300 co-workers which I was moderating. Wore a new-ish black dress and a colleague said "Nice LBD!" ... huh, me? LBD? Wow.13

Every day I put 9 Hershey Kisses (1 serving) in a bowl and I get to eat them whenever I'm overcome with need. And I log it of course. My NSV is over the past week, almost every morning when I go to refill my bowl there have been one or more kisses left in the bowl--THAT I FORGOT ABOUT! I'm thinking I may actually be weaning myself off of them inadvertently!
Great idea!!! Er, no Hershey kisses in Luxembourg4 -

Yay -me too!! Donating blood is a lot easier now!!!5 -
I realized yesterday afternoon that the bag of Justin's Organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups I bought on clearance after Halloween is still mostly full. I keep it stashed in my desk at work and a few years ago that bag wouldn't have lasted a week!17

My 12 year old daughter liked my dress yesterday so I let her try it on. It fit her. I can share (some) clothes with my healthy, normal-sized kid!16

Scale hasn't been moving much this past month, so I love coming here and getting perspective!
Even though I haven't seen much movement on the scale the last month, I fit into three pairs of pants and a couple of shirts from my closet that a month ago were two small (and I haven't worn in years). Feels great to wear "new" clothes and have been getting lots of compliments!
Also, between the stomach flu that went through our house last week and being extremely busy at work I have missed my workouts for the last week and a half. And I really miss them! It is amazing what exercising does!16 -
I have kind of a generalized NSV that I'm really pleased about: I've been fitting foods I love into my goals easily! Last time I was losing I kept my diet really rigid, but this time I'm finding it really is okay to have some "junk." Yesterday I had fast-food twice, today I'm having stroopwafels with my coffee and will have pizza for dinner, and I still have plenty of room for snacks or a cocktail if I want one. I keep going on and on about this, but it's just such a refreshing change from my usual starve-or-binge habits!34
