  • This scale is pretty accurate, but it doesn't have Wi-Fi or an App. EatSmart Precision Premium Digital Bathroom Scale with 3.5" LCD and "Step-On" Technology - $35 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MK6QKO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also have the Withings Body Cardio scale. • I bought a Diamondback Trace Comp Dual Sport Hybrid bike and it had a narrow hard performance seat. I tried a gel pad cover but it still got uncomfortable after about an hour. I bought a Diamondback Pillow Top to replace it and have been on rides now up to 3 1/2 hours with no discomfort. Mens Diamondback Pillow Top…

  • I have the Polar H7 chest strap HRM that I got on Amazon for $49. Works great. I also have the Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Blaze both of which have an HRM. I have found both to be very accurate comparing to the chest strap as long as you move it up on your arm a little ans snug the band up so it doesn't slide up and down…
  • I have the One, Charge Hr and just got the Blaze. I like the Charge HR and Blaze because they track your heart and factor that into the calorie burn estimate.

  • As ConicalFern mentioned set your activity level to Lightly Active and MFP will give you a daily calorie intake and burn goal based on that setting. You could get a step tracker such as Fitbit and sync it to MFP. If your daily steps would put your calorie burn above MFP then you would get a calorie adjustment.
  • Sorry, but I have read up and that information was given to me directly by doctor. Link below to handout he gave me. http://gicare.com/diets/low-cholesterol-diet/ For the "much mounting evidence" please provide links to clinical case studies from documented and verifiable medical websites and case studies which have…

  • I like this for the added sugar. Even if you are staying within your daily calorie goal if you choose products with less or no added sugar then you will have more calories for the day.
  • Both Saturated Fat and Trans Fats are the bad fats. Those are the ones that should be limited.

  • I have upgraded three times. I have the Fitbit One, Charge HR and just purchased the Fitbit Blaze last week. I love Fitbit. It motivates me to get moving more. Some mentioned about the 10,000 step goal. You can set your step goal to whatever you want in the settings menu. As OP mentioned I have not had any issues with it…

  • As far as weight loss my doctor just told me I need to diet and exercise. He did give me a handout on low fat low cholesterol diet because my cholesterol was borderline.

  • Once you get used to weighing it doesn't take long at all. I saw a tip that someone else posted in another post. Take the bowl with the food and place it on the scale. Zero the scale out then. Dip out your portion and the negative number is what you log. If it show -50 grams then log 50 grams. Measuring cup and spoons are…
  • An information handout that my doctor gave me showed to use plant based unsaturated vegetable oils such as sunflower, corn, soybean, canola, peanut and olive oils. It stated to avoid coconut oil and palm oil because they are high in saturated fat.
  • It will get easier as you go along. For ice cream I get the no sugar added variety because it is less calories. I get it the small single pint and only eat one serving at a time which is about 1/4 of the pint. I used to be bad about snack cakes like Little Debbie's and also cheese danish. All of those are high in calories…
  • I do the same thing as mpat. Heat or cook meat, then weigh it and after eating weigh the bones and subtract. I do this with baked chicken I get from the supermarket deli. If it is something I cook myself like pork chops I will usually cook it, pull it on then bone then weigh it before eating.
  • Hi Zilliegirl. You can do it. My goals is to lose 102 pounds and I am half way there in 6 1/2 months. To add someone just click on there avatar picture or user name on the left. You will get a popup. Click on their picture or name again to go to their profile and then click on Add Friend.
  • If you go into "Settings" and "Update Diet/Fitness Profile" you will see the following descriptions. Then below that it asks how many times you exercise and length. So I would think you would set it to Sedentary and enter the exercise info below it. Sedentary: Spend most of the day sitting (e.g. bank teller, desk job)…
  • Two pounds per week is the highest recommended weight loss. Any more than that and you should be under the direct supervision of a doctor. And even a doctor isn't going to approve that unless you are morbidly obese. With only 25 pounds to lose if you were to lose it one month you would most likely be losing muscle mass as…
  • Welcome to MFP
  • You can get the Fitbit One on Amazon for $75
  • I have the Polar H7 chest strap and really like it. Is uses coded transmission to cut interference, for example if you were in a gym around other hr monitors. I use the Polar Beat app with it. You can sync it to MFP.
  • I can sometimes take awhile before it sends the data to MFP. One thing I found that sometimes helps is to open my MFP and then Open the Fitbit app and sync to Charge HR again. It usually sends the data to MFP at that point.
  • Go to her profile and then click on View Diary
  • Sparkling Ice is good. Zero calories, zero sodium and zero sugar. http://www.sparklingice.com/
  • With Fitbit you don't pair it through the bluetooth menu on your phone. Open the Fitbit app and go to "Devices". From the click the "+" sign in the upper right corner. Click "Add a new Device". Choose your Fitbit tracker and it the app and tracker should sunc up.
  • If I enter exercise I enter it in MFP and MFP sends it to Fitbit.
  • Here is my Fitbit profile. There should be a button to add friend on the page. https://www.fitbit.com/user/4FFBV6
  • One thing you could do is take all the ingredients and the nutrients/vitamins data and put them in a spreadsheet. Add up the values for the nutrients and vitamins. Then go to the "My Foods" tab and "Create Food". Enter all the data and leave it un-checked where it says share with others. This way it is your own private…
