Sometimes the number on the scale lies! (Yes, it's true  ) You are probably gaining muscle as well so don't get too caught up on the scale. Make sure you're in a calorie deficit and stick with the weight training. You're probably making more progress than you think!

MFP has default settings for macros and as above, IIFYM is a good reference as well. Your macros are really going to depend on your fitness goals. Figure out your calories first and then start with the MFP defaults. See how you feel with different combinations and adjust as necessary. Make sure to give your body enough…

I'm focusing on fat loss while building muscle. I lift 5 days a week and my percentages are set at 38% protein, 33% carbs, 29% fat (185P/163C/62F)

I've been lifting during my weight loss journey and it has really improved my metabolism. I was lucky enough to find a trainer who helped me work my macros as well as help me feel comfortable as a beginner. I've been lifting for 2 years and recently started heavy lifting. I've used super-sets and tri-sets during weight…

I follow IIFYM and have had great success. I'm set at 38% Protein, 33% carbs, 29% fat (185P/163C/62F) but I lift heavy 5 days a week and do low intensity cardio as well. You have to find what works for you but lower percentage of carbs/fats and higher protein is a great way to build muscle and burn fat.

I agree 100%! Even making small changes such as drinking more water, adding a few extra minutes to your workouts, making healthier food choices, etc. will add up in the end. I know having a target date/weight adds pressure and it's easy to become obsessed with the scale and not your health. You want your changes and weight…

I totally agree with brdnw. I strictly track my macros and follow the IIFYM lifestyle. I eat clean but if I want something I make it fit my macros, I don't have cheat days. You sabotage your hard work! Good luck with getting over this hurdle, you got it!

I'm currently set at 39%P, 33%C, 28%F and am having awesome success with these ratios. I'm focusing on muscle gains and fat loss through weight training followed by low intensity cardio (HR in the 140s) 5 days a week. I agree with the above statements of setting your macros and sticking with it for a few weeks to determine…

Neither! It's all about the way I feel. Is my endurance up? Am I making gains? If I had to pick though it's definitely more about being comfortable with my body than a number on the scale.

Thank you! I appreciate your kindness
