I'm surprised this thread made it to page 2 as this unhealthy diet is usually deleted when mentioned. I've ignored the forums for a while, so who knows. OP, don't freaking do it. MFP is here with calorie counts and a good database.

Is this thread for real? I debated coming back...now I'm really debating.
-
Yeah, so do I. I've got a sixpack under the loose skin and residual fat. The answer is in a caloric deficit.

I eat 90% of my calories between 4pm and midnight. Lost 151lbs and holding. MATH. SCIENCE.

Absolute sanity.

Obesity cuts your lifespan by at least 14 years. Right now my dad is 73 and it's a miracle he's lived this long. He was obese his whole life, and he was recently sent home a week after having one of his legs amputated (diabetes--adult onset based on lifestlye). I am one of his 2 full time caregivers because his Medicare…

You can't outrun your fork. CICO is everything. It's not about certain foods, being "clean", carbs, none of it. The law of thermodynamics has not fallen. Exercise factors into CICO, but I highly recommend portion control and accurate calorie count coming first. Fitness is awesome, exercise makes you strong, turns up your…

It's a great article. Knowing your actual intake is EVERYTHING.

PH diets ARE for dummies.

NO

You do keep your fat cells. You also choose whether to fill them with calories or not.

Everyone wants the results without doing the work. I did use Phentermine for a while under careful medical supervision. Stopped 80lbs down. I still weighed my food and logged it meticulously from day one. I increased my exercise as much as I could. I'm down 151lbs, and I'm crediting it all to weighing and logging and…

I've lost 151lbs in 14 months. I'm pushing 50. I have some parts of me with loose skin. I've done what my doctor recommended...exfoliate, a lotion that promises nothing but feels good and is affordable, a biotin supplement and exercise. I'm not thrilled. But I'm ok. I have a friend who just turned 50 and after four years,…

Buy a food scale, find a community, don't pay for woo, scams, or things that are charging you for CICO. I've lost 151 pounds eating whatever I wanted, and I have been through absolute crisis the last four months. You don't need anyone telling you one food is the devil, or you need to pay for their "magic". You need to…

Go hang out at r/fatlogic. It's been a lifesaver for me. Literally.

No, actually, I'm not bored. The time I try to spend on these forums are deliberate and I try to help people.

No sugar is added to plain milk products. Have it or don't have it. Consider the calories and the impact those have. Let those who view food products as religion have their religion, but you don't have to make it your own.
-
Technically, sure. I wouldn't call his answer a non-answer.
-
DUDE. It wasn't sugar. It wasn't carbs. IT WAS CALORIES.
-
You don't need motivation, you need to make a decision and stick with it.

....and????

I've reached my preliminary goal weight. It's still medically overweight. I don't have a number anymore. I'm looking for a good body fat percentage, with special attention to visceral fat, which can kill even a "skinny" person. I'll know it when my doctor knows it. Right now I'm looking at the top ten pounds of healthy BMI…

Save calories for late night snacking. When we start a weight loss plan sometimes we eat when we're not hungry. Figure out your natural hunger patterns and adjust. I'm a late afternoon to evening eater. So I consume very few calories early in the day when I'm not hungry, and save them for the times I am very hungry. 85% or…

No, I'm not asking for private medical records. Certainly anyone can state the type of testing done and what the numbers are. ETA: Really?????
-
Alrighty then. So what are you going to do now?
-
What is the calorie count per gram of an unladen swallow?
-
Why are you settling for an overweight BMI?
-
You need to count calories, period. I eat plenty of carbs, and I've lost 115lbs. My only "cheat day" was Thanksgiving. You choose what you want, but if it works over the long term is a different story. Carbs don't make you fat. Too many calories does.

Stevia gives me crazy heartburn. Splenda tastes a little wrong in baking. So I mix Splenda and proper baking sugar depending on my needs.
