Add in some ACV and you're pretty much guaranteed to lose your goal of 20 lbs by Christmas.

I use it. It gives you energy. I am not sure how much weight you could loose by using it. Its filled with anti oxidants though which is a plus! I recommend match a green tea powder...

Steamed rice question. The other night I steamed Jasmine rice in my rice cooker, using only water. So I scanned my rice barcode, and it said 165 cals for unprepared 1/4 cup. Being that the 1/4 cup of rice (I think then doubles to 1/2 cup prepared) Then a 1/2 cup prepared is 165 cals. Regular serving size.
    Ok ok.....
So then, I also.just typed in the MFP database, without scanning barcode. And MFP has a bunch of entries for steamed jasmine rice 1 full cup at 200 calories. So what I just did today at lunch was have 1 full cup of that rice, and counted it for the 200 cals. Seemed like a better deal to me. Or did I just eat 165 cals x 2 servings = 330 Calories.... ???

Know any simple accurate ways to remember the rules for rice??

Go by the nutritional information on the package.

So I just ate 2 half cup prepared servings @ 165 cals each. 1 cup totaling a whopping 330 cals.
Ooops.... I guess I could have also read the entire trolls thread first... :o

Always go with the packages. The database is largely user entered and contains many erroneous entries. Plus there are regional differences. Now you know!

Thank you. I appreciate that. ;) I don't know why I've had recent brain farts when it comes to calculating this rice thing. :/

And it was actually 160 cals per half cup prepared. A total of 320 cals, when I corrected diary. :)

Why do you care? "settling". Im 165 at 5 ft 3 i will be stopping soon. I like to be curvy. Doesnt mean im settling.

Look at who she quoted. The question wasn't directed at you.

The BMI charts are fine for the vast majority of people. There are always exceptions and individuals may vary, but 165 at 5'3" is still a pretty high weight. If you are happy there and your doc is happy with your health markers, then great.

Im just pissed off at the person saying 160 is "settling" Thats just so unnecessarily judgemental let the person be happy with their own goals was zero need to judge it like that and put her down for what she wants with her own body.

"Settling" is a rude way of putting it. But at 5'3" 160 is a few pounds from obesity if you follow BMI charts. Under 140 is considered a healthy weight that will lower your health risk as you get older. I'm the same height as you and if I looked darn good at 160 I would still ask my doctor if I needed to lose more for my health.

Yes because carbs from veggies are nutrient dense plus complex carbs last longer keeping you full for longer amounts of time. I'm sure you can survive off of a non carb diet but you might not meet your nutrition requirements

If I was trying to cut down 40 plus pounds I'd stick with veggies and lean meats. Besides that I'd incorporate sweet potatoes into my diet as well. Get rid of foods high in starch, bread, juices and soft drinks...with vegetables I like a variety of them, just keep your portions small when meal prepping. Good luck! And be patient and trust the process.

I never said I was an expert on anything so you can take the advice or leave it...but thanks for the comment bro!

So if you're not an expert on anything, why should we be asking you questions rather than some other random poster on MFP?

You don't have to ask me questions. You could have went to the next thread. I asked if anyone needed advice I'd be glad to help with any questions. That doesn't mean I'm an expert doesn't mean I'm a specialist. If I give you advice you take it and go research it. Advice isn't fact it is advice. If I was an expert I'd still expect you to go and make sure that advice was something that would work for you or not.
