  • I'm new to keto and sent you a request, my food diary is an open book! It helps reading what others eat for inspiration!
  • I am not here for the same reasons as you but I have read the keto diet / cancer studies and agree that it makes sense! You just never know until you try it, so why not. I suggest getting your oncologists opinion, they may be negative about it (saying it doesn't work) but as long as it won't harm you go for it! I just…
  • I drink my own version of bulletproof coffee: 8oz coffee, 2 TBSP MCT oil, 1 TBSP unsalted grassfed irish butter, and 1 tsp heavy cream. If you like coconut flavor, you can swap that for MCT oil. Avacados are high in fat and fiber, bacon, butter everything lol! I struggle also keeping protein levels down but my coffee helps…
  • Wow what an amazing transformation!
  • Thank you so much for sharing your story and pictures, such an inspiring transformation! I have been struggling to find the motivation beyond a few days here and there but I'm making a note to come back and read your story! :)
  • At 52, I'm in the same boat....I miss my old metabolism!
  • That had to feel so empowering, way to go!!
  • You can add me also, I'm newer here also and find it helpful seeing others food diaries for ideas! I'm a 52 yo Mom and Grandma to 3. :)
  • You'll find many people freak out over keto diets lol. I tried it but didn't really give it a good chance, I love fruit especially in the summer, and found it too restrictive. BUT I did love how I felt on it and will probably try it again. Google "OKL Chart", it tells you the optimal macros based on your height. I've also…
  • I have between 120-150 oz a day, not including the coffee I have in the morning or my "once per week" soda. To say the least, I know where every bathroom is whenever I go somewhere!
  • In my opinion it means any liquid, but since I mostly drink just water that is the only liquid I track. It helps me to have one water bottle (mine is 30 oz) and I have set times that I know I should have a bottle finished.
  • Dang, such harshness! Exercise is exercise and if this motivates one single person to commit to getting fit then who cares??
  • Thanks, I think it happens when I use my phone's emojis! It happened yesterday too but I thought it was just me being me...
  • Congrats on retiring, that was a huge step in a positive direction!! I just turned 52 recently and am making a healthy lifestyle change as well, feel free to add me for support and motivation! Just taking those first steps to a healthy life is empowering...one day, one pound at a time! :)
  • Granny to 3 little beauties, I'm 52 and fighting the menopause fluff before it gets completely out of hand. I'll send you a request!
  • Hard boiled eggs are my main snacks, I boil 6 at a time and they make good snacks at work. Otherwise carrot sticks, celery or any vegies, cottage cheese, apples, raspberries are the main ones I stick to.
  • For some reason I can't see the above reply I wrote, can anyone else? I tried it but gagged, can't get past the taste! My opinion is it dates back to my grandparents era so there must be some benefits to it! I say keep trying and see what happens! :)
  • I'm 5ft1 and 150 lb (my all time high) and I'm also 52 yo. My metabolism has gone on permanent vacation
  • You must be older than dirt if I'm a spring chicken hahaha...just kidding!!! ;) Thanks for the boost of confidence, I'm quite disgusted with myself which helps motivate me
  • Thank you, I am trying to scale back and think one pound at a time and just be patient lol! I love your fit and slim comment, so true! I am able to build muscle very fast for some odd reason, it's a genetic thing in my family, but unfortunately after I quit smoking last year and middle age struck all at once I've packed on…
  • Thanks Nancy, it is frustrating for sure!! I swore I'd never be at the current weight I'm at grrrr and here I am! I feel it in my knees and ankles so it's time to get serious. You'd think those hot flashes would melt the fat....
  • Thank you for the info!! Calories in Calories out is a great mantra, I'll remember that one! I have debated getting a food scale but will add that to my shopping list, is there a certain brand that is more accurate?
  • Hi Janet and Nancy, feel free to add me as well! I'm 52 and struggling with the menopausal weight gain that has crept on over the years. Long gone are the days I could drop 10 lbs in a week... Today is Day 1 of a new journey I call Granny's Getting Fit, I have 3 grandkids to keep up with!
