This group keeps me from giving up- I see you all doing different things every day and that is the motivation I've needed to deal with my injury- I can't run and it's really making me sad but look at all y'all hitting the yoga mat, cycling, walking, swimming, lifting ... thanks y'all-

So - I injured myself on Sunday playing tennis... i had been on road to finding my running self again - finished a 1/2 on March 19 but now - iliotibial band has me not running- what outside can I do besides walk? I am going to try cycling tomorrow.... damn just frustrated-

Worried about the scale tomorrow I wasn't able to run or work out yesterday and today I'm in airport flying home. Just hope my business travel didn't set me too far back.

Run was humbling and reflective.

MissMaggieMuffin- nail on the head! Habit and now that I'm aware I'll be intentional. Great job!

On a plane this morning but plan to run for an hour or so on the National Mall this afternoon. And asking in advance for tips to stay on track while traveling for work( lots of meetings and dinners)

Im so glad I stuck it out too LZMiner - this month taught me a lot. I leave on a business trip for the rest of the week and am looking forward to getting home on Saturday and enjoying a glass of wine with my husband! Have a great girls night and GREAT JOB!!! WTG!

I started a month ago as well. This thread helped me not be so frustrated with my 4 lb loss and no movement on scale this week. I have 20 lbs to loose. I just need to be patient and trust the science of calories in calories out.
-
Yay! 8.5 mile run- done. Looking forward to getting stronger with more endurance and speed.

That's awesome Trawnagal!

Stepping out to hopefully complete an 8 mile run in a few minutes. Very nervous as this is longest distance I've run in almost a year.
-
Almost there! 5 more days well 4 if you don't count today- So glad you posted this. After Wednesday Feb 1st I am going to keep it up except for a drink or some wine on Saturdays until after my 1/2 Marathon in March & until I loose the weight I've put on the past two years. LZMiner you rock! This helped me break my evening…
-
Yes I added exercise. The total number jumped above the addition of the exercise. Not sure what happened but now I know to look at all 4 numbers in the equation before I scoop a cup of ice cream out.
-
That's a similar goal for me too
-
Yea and made it through a playoff game with my team winning! WTG LZMiner!
-
Ok today big playoff game in the ATL! I will be cheering the Dirty Birds on with sparkling water and an occasional hot tea. Rise Up Falcons! And this month has been so good for me so far. Learning that I have willpower to loose weight and get my runs ( even if I have to cut short because of storms) in no matter what.
-
We are doing great ! Down to the home stretch!
-
Doing ok here in Georgia. Not as hard as I thought it would be. I usually have at least two glasses of wine every evening or more. The calories saved is a huge motivator. Now if only my scale would budge down...
-
Runawaycowgirl- now that I'm 10 days in and feeling pretty great I might see how far I take it too, thanks for the idea.

Hi Carriebeachbound- I think this is the thread for the dry January folks. I'm doing this to reach my fitness goals too. Fridays are hard for sure. I tracked myself for a week including all the alcohol and those calories add up really really fast. Maybe if you saw how just a beer and two glasses of wine can derail weight…

I thought the same thing.... in the moment for sure.
