If you take out the brown sugar on your oatmeal, add a few raisins, or an egg. How does egg in oatmeal work? Do u literally just crack an egg into it whilst it’s cooking or is something else necessary? Thanx! [/quote]

Big batch of soup done at the weekend works well for me in the cold weather.

Just had courgette boats stuffed with puy lentils, braised in veg stock with red onion and a little bit of feta cheese. Total winner! Thank u very much! Courgette frittata tomorrow and black bean courgette cakes planned for Friday. Can't wait for dinner time

These all sound great, thank you everyone! Am going to work my way through them all, and the way my crop is going, then start again!

If u Google Deliciously Ella kale salad you will find a recipe which I really like. You will, however, have to ignore just how irritating Ella is. Or that could just be me...

This is my husbands experience too. He eats constantly whilst training and really pays attention to his nutrition, and will still lose weight. Very frustrating for him.
-
Thank you, I really appreciate it!

Well I guess it's good to know we r not alone! When complaining about the weight of a heavy door my 7 year old pointed out that it wasn't going to get any lighter, so I would just have to get stronger. Out of the mouths of babes...

I had this problem a while back, realised (eventually) that I had switched from my usual oats for breakfast to eggs as they kept me full for longer. Have switched back to oats and problem solved. It's horrible isn't it!

My very fussy daughter loves raw sugar snap peas (maybe u call them mange tout?) and raw carrots and brocolli. She will now dip them in hummus which is progress! Corn on the cob always goes down well (with a little butter melted on top) and frozen peas are a winner. Oh and roasted parsnips and baby leaf spinach. Have fun…

Eliminating dairy (just cows milk, small amounts of goats and sheep are fine) has worked for me. I also keep an eye on my wheat/yeast intake but am fine with these in moderation. It really was trial and error, but since eliminating dairy I feel like a different person. Good luck with it.

That sounds sensible, thanx

Because I want to read how to do the calculation whilst using the calculator.

Ok thank you.

Right, ok. Wanders off to find calculator... Thank you.

I had one of those days yesterday and it was very enjoyable! But I'm not going to do it again today whereas in the past I probably would have done (especially as it's a bank holiday weekend here in the U.K.). I think the difference is that I still logged everything yesterday (it took ages!!) whereas I just wouldn't have…

I would probably make the same usual sandwich but just with 1 piece of bread instead of 2 to start with, and then once that becomes the norm start looking to switch some of the higher cal ingredients with lower. So do u mean u arent going to bed until after you've had it or that u get up in the night to eat? If the former…

My husband swears by the marathon meal plan for the week before a marathon on the BBC Good Food website. We follow it (with a few variations for personal preference) every time he runs a marathon. Me, I can't even run for a bus but enjoy eating the high protein meals at the start of the week and just cut out some of the…

I had intended to hit it big today and get back on track tomorrow. But after a big roast lunch at my mum's I was too full for dessert and am still not even remotely hungry 7 hours later. So I've ended up only going about 40 cals over my usual 1200. Bit disappointed really, but I bought a slice of pie home which I intend to…

Looking forward to an update next weekend! Happy Easter

Only just seen this so probably too late, but it was the texture I most had issue with, although the flavour was also a bit bland (bizarrely as there were plenty of flavoursome ingredients in them!) I have her book and really like a handful of the recipes which I often make, but a few others are really just weird!

Thank you for your reply. I think just my acknowledging that I want to change how I approach the holidays is going to help. In the past I have just thought that it wasn't possible for me to continue to lose weight when off work and not really thought about why. Am going to try your suggestion and prepare a batch of soup to…

I also only work 4 days a week, and the weekly 3 days off isn't a problem. It is only when it is end of term and I get that "schools out for summer" feeling. But you r absolutely right, I just need to adopt the same mind set for the holidays that I have for the rest of my working life! Easier said than done, but now I have…

I guess the why is I relax and think job well done! Plus all routine goes out the window so I find myself making food which we all want to eat (rather than the tweaking I do to change my meals from the rest of the family). Plus of course I drink more in the evenings generally, rather than planned drinks at the weekend.…

I was really looking forward to the Deliciously Ella sweeet potato brownies I made a while back. They were genuinely the most vile thing I've ever tasted! Please let us know if they turn out well, as I'd love to try to make a decent one!

Did with my first, didn't with my 2nd. Fingers crossed for u!

I think I would probably make sure I had a really filling breakfast and then have a smoothie for lunch. Drink it as u walk. I think I might then feel really hungry before dinner time tho! Guess u will need to play around with it? When I'm out walking I take some nuts with me if it's a long walk, but I wouldn't consider…

This rings very true for me. My weight gain was so slow over so many years that it took a friends well meaning comment to make me even notice that I was no longer the skinny Minnie I had always been! Great suggestion re just relaxing a little when going out although I have enjoyed giving myself the permission to have time…

Ok. So I'm now going to investigate TDEE

Yep, fingers crossed! Thanx
