From these options, maybe 1 or 2 would be better suited for a fancy restaurant.

That is why I joined MFP so I can see others that share similar experiences. Isn't it sad when a person that talks about making healthier choices gets dismissed? smh

You take care of your health. Other posters have given some good suggestions on how to respond. I hope it helps. BTW, Thank goodness for the boob camouflage huh? :p

Exactly! I get bulk of comments from BW I have been introduced to in social settings or coworkers (not friends). Here in the south, BW call themselves "thick" when in actuality they are overweight. So of course I look skinny to them because of their perception of what is "normal". I'm 45 and 3 kids later managed to keep a…

Less than 6% of the population has suffered from anorexia. Wanting to loose a few pounds for cosmetic reasons is a far cry from being anorexic. Telling someone they don't need to loose weight (and their goal remains in the healthy BMI range) is jealously masked with concern. No one has the right to tell others what their…

Thank you Deb! How about that! That's the One response I haven't used! LOL!

People tell me I don't need to lose weight all the time and I didn't ask for their opinion. They often put me in defensive mode when they begin critiquing. I haven't been able to find something that will shut them dwn yet. I'm assuming people don't realize when they've crossed the line of Mind Yo Business! I would never…

Any weight I gain goes to my bottom half. I wear a Junior's size 6 now. If I lose 4 more pounds I can wear my size 5's.
-
I usually gain about 4 lbs but when I take otc Diuretics I don't retain any water wt during that time.

The body is sooo different from person to person! I'm 32-25-36 and I see ppl shorter, heavier and with larger body measurements that say they wear smaller sizes. Like others have concluded not only the fit but also wearing Jr., Misses and Women's clothing makes a big difference. Very interesting!

I think I'm a good worker..when he wakes up he tells me that knock out extended my position for another 6 months! LOL! TMI??

Not a chance. DH says sex is part of my "job description".

I'm in my dream body! I wear bikini's on the beach/poolside and short shorts with wedges. I can't ask for anything more..well maybe remove a few stretch marks on my lower abdomen from giving birth to twins.

I used to get in trouble for not eating all of my cereal. I would get nauseous when it got soggy. (anything soggy) So my mother told me I'd better figure out a way to eat it because she was tired of me wasting cereal.(we had corn flakes or Raisin Bran) So I created a mental race game of who can eat it the fastest. At 45, I…

Thanks! I will have to try it but the first thing he says is, " oh hell naw you got that off the internet didn't you?" LOL!

I grew up eating "soul food" in NJ but then I grew up and prepared more balanced meals for my children. DH was born and raised in the south, and has a difficult time letting go of bad habits (all of his immediate family is overweight/obese). I didn't realize how uneducated he is about food. Of course I have tried to teach…

I initially gained wt (126 up to 138) as one of my symptoms of a diseased gallbladder (working at 27% rate). I gained wt with everything I ate (severely constipated too). To avoid more wt gain and attacks, I put myself on a strict no fat, no meat diet and lost the wt prior to surgery which was in 2010. I have been fine…

I do! All age groups. I've had men approach me when I'm with my husband! They avoid getting their teeth punched out by playing like they didn't know we were together and then complimenting my husband as if I'm an object!! Oh he Really hates when women approach me lol!

You look great! Werk it!!

Idk. My cousin has an ectomorph build. According to her, she tries to gain weight but has not been successful so far even after 4 children she still doesn't have any curves. Genetically blessed? If you like that shape I guess. BTW her Mom was that way too, now in her 50's she's fat. Not even curvy fat, just shapeless fat.…

If I know I'm going out in advance, I eat light to accommodate the meal I want. If I find out later in the day, then I look at the nutritional value of the menu before hand to try to find something that won't tip me over too much.

I'm 5'5.5" 130lbs. Vanity lbs here and there, but I've never been overweight...goal where I am most comfortable is between 126-128 lbs.

Mine is "yelling" at me too! Shrugs..

I agree. Strength training transforms. Looks like you just need to tone. I have a problem seeing myself as thin because my legs are not as slim as my top half. Wonder if you are still seeing yourself as the 165lb you? I think toning will make you look the way you feel you should. BTW, congratulations on the weight loss!!…

I just wanted to say, I don't have tips yet...Finish my last set of prereqs this Fall and then I begin my Nursing program in the Spring. Yay! (BSN)

Hang in there! I found that I could do everything right and absolutely No change for two weeks, then on the 14th day 2 lbs gone! It's like the body is waiting for you to give up. Just keep pushing through. When I felt I Looked smaller but the scale said I didn't, I tried on a pair of jeans that had gotten too tight and…

Hey there kellyboyd! I'm 45 and I feel your pain! That metabolism can be a b! I gained 14 lbs between last Thanksgiving and Christmas! 1 Month! And it would not go away! Only time I gained was pregnancies, and before my gallbladder surgery in 2010. I lost 13 of the 14lbs w/in the past 2 months. I had to conduct a personal…

For me, no fast food, the least amount of processed food possible (often makes me retain major water and bloating), measure my portions, pay attention to labels, green stuff is my friend and plenty of water! Oh and exercise! No secret huh?
