That was exactly the impression I got. Regardless of what WW (or their leaders) may think - they are neither nutritionists nor psychologists and neither is Oprah Winfrey. They have completely lost the original intent of Weight Watchers when Jean Nidecht started it in her basement over 50 years ago.

My focus right now is getting my cholesterol numbers back within normal range by the time my next lab work is done on August 31st. I'm more concerned with that than losing weight right now; but the changes I'm making to lower my cholesterol SHOULD result in weight loss as well -- at least that's the plan. And hope.

Well I don't think it's any secret that I hate tracking :) But, for some reason I don't mind tracking on MFP. Maybe because I can "guesstimate" the portions pretty accurately. If I'm not sure about a serving size, then yes...I will take the time to measure to be sure. Their database is excellent so I seldom have to do a…

I should have added that I was a member of WW@Work while I was losing and loved everything about it -- especially the leader. Maybe that was part of my problem. I got accustomed to have a GREAT leader who had lost 175 pounds and kept it off for almost 15 years. After I retired in 2012, I had to find outside meetings. At…

Good morning to everyone!

I joined WW in 2002 and reached goal in 2004 after losing 75 pounds. I kept the weight off (and even went below my goal weight) for about 10 years. During that time, WW changed their program MANY times -- at least once a year. However, since I was at goal, it really had no bearing on me so I continued doing my monthly…

The only support I need is mine. I know that sounds shallow; but it's true. Like Steve, I gave up on WW a long time ago. Every single program they come up with is the best program they've ever had according to their leaders (or whatever they're called these days). If they're so great, why do they keep changing them? And if…

Mornin' y'all.

I'm in Al's camp. Anything that isn't a meal is a snack. Doesn't matter what time or what the food is. Last night I had an ounce of almonds about 8:00. That was a snack to me. I've sometimes had a scrambled egg as a snack because it was out of the realm of my regular meals. I've often had oatmeal as a snack for the same…

That's Countless of Core to you :)

Well obviously it's something I have to do too. :)

There is no try. There is only do. :)

I actually started "renewing my efforts" on May 31, 2020. The first thing I did was get rid of all the chips, dips, Cheez-Its, and honey buns in the kitchen. I replaced them with LOTS of fresh fruits and that's what I'm using for snacks now. I'm also cooking more lean meats and fresh vegetables, weighing and measuring…

I will use Saturdays as my weigh-in day since today is Day 1 of my new "resolution". I'm planning to weigh-in only once a week. As many of you know if you've been around a while, I'm typically an every-day weigher. Pfft...that went out the window about 3 months ago LOL That could also explain a lot, but like I said,…

This could not have come at a better time for me! Had followup with my doctor yesterday (via telehealth -- which worked surprisingly well!). And this is going to be long; but I need to put it here in writing so that I can come back and read it often as a reminder of how quickly things can do downhill and what I need to do…

I've heard the same thing from some of my former co-workers. I worked from home most of the last three years that I worked. However, there are people working from home who have never done it and it's obvious (from what I've heard) that some of them are taking advantage of the situation. BTW...no damage from the earthquake…

Things are pretty much status quo here at the beach in NC. Well...not really. As of midnight last night, hotels/motels, private residences, condos, etc. cannot do short-term rentals until after April 29th unless the reservation is for at least 30 days. Anyone who is here now is allowed to stay until their current…

Well my little piece of the world (county population 68,000) went from 0 cases to 5 today. But I'm still doing well with my self-isolation, social distancing, etc. My son's oldest is a freshman at the University of SC. They will be taking him to clean out his dorm room sometime between now and next Saturday. He will be…

As an introvert, I've been training for this my whole life. :) I do have an appointment for a haircut this afternoon. When I called to make an appointment, she did ask if I had any "cold symptoms". Other than that, it's pretty much life as usual. There IS an advantage to living in a very small town in a beach area. Had…
