66 yo, retired & something of a hermit. Moved to rural Mississippi (hour out of Jackson) and live across the road from 40 yo DD and her family. All doing good, S-I-L still working, DD is a teacher/admin sent home and teaches her daughters and works with parents (phone and face-time type programs) to keep their kids…

Sorry I'm late Bill, down 1.0 this week. Interesting days! Kid once told me that when I come down just to grab the handrail on the crazy train & hold on...it's all that and more.

My diet was pretty well off plan but I didn’t go hog wild either, made good choices when available and stayed stocked up in fruit. Now need to shoehorn all my junk into an already full house.

Trip went well, no mechanical problems at all. Got one small windshield ding to fix though. Not bad for 4747 miles and 500 gallons of gas.

Hey guys, I made it. Up 0.4 from last WI in Alaska.
-
Most excellent! Congrats. I'll always be at least 9 years behind
-
Wow! You guys were nailing it, Good Job.

A Marine once said "Simper Gumby". At the perplexed looks he told us the US Marine motto was "Simper Fi", always faithful and that his was "Simper Gumby", always flexible. I try to be that guy, better some days than others.

Guys, I've done the Warfarin trip when I had A-Fib years ago.('99-2013). Being a ginger, I tend to bruise easily anyway but when on thinners it is far worse. Doc has me on Brilinta so I don't need to take the INR tests. (Of course, now there is a home tester like for diabetes.)

"I think" that some of these medical professionals jump onto these fad diets because that is the only time they see patients do anything. In radio talk that is "breaking our squelch", which means getting our attention. Most people only know what we see on TV and doctors assume that we are the same. They don't know have…

Wow! Consider that stolen, I'm going to use this word often. I have a teenage granddaughter that needs to contemplate her relative place in the universe and how even a casual comment to (or from) others is directly proportional to their place in their universe. This could help this good kid deal with the thoughtlessness of…

This conversation needs to be a "sticky note". Love me some 10 can chili!

Since to loss of DW I've really receded from most cooking and eating out except for a narrow list. I gave up alcohol in the '80 after I saw what a train wreck some friends made of their lives. I tend to avoid events where food major part like church pot-lucks and lunch out with the guys from work, I struggle enough with…

You're in my prayers.

OH yeah, pick me!

@ savignr I used that one on my wife's obit. She was here for the big one in '64 (12yo). Thanks Jim. The big new bridge to Eagle River is closed. Traffic to the valley is going to be a nightmare for a while.

Yeah I felt it like I was there...because I'm there. The big main shake (7.0) was just a few seconds (15-30) and came on instantly, no pre-rumble or building up. It continued for a couple minutes with several >5.0 aftershocks within a half hour or so. Smaller aftershocks continued all day and night and expected for weeks…

Thanks guys and welcome to Onederland Bill.

Thanks Derrick, gotta stay in the game or fall behind.

Hovering in my zone, -0.2 today. I had thought of losing 5# in anticipation of a 2 week vacay but it hasn't happened yet. I guess I will just have to be careful instead.

I started the summer in cardiac rehab and finished still in cardiac maintenance (voluntary program). My fitness level is way up and I feel I can continue to improve. I started and finished below my goal weight with only one WI above. Unfortunately the Alaska winter is right around the corner and I tend to hibernate. The…

Good job, Bill. Down 1.0 this week, staying in the zone.

First time I reached Goal was 2013 after a year on plan. After drifting slowly back up over a few years I got serious this January and lost last 2 pounds back to maintenance in March. Still going to meetings and still tracking. I need structure and accountability or I will drift away into obesity.
-
wtg Bill! You must have had teenagers to get that look down. In full hover mode, down 1.2. Continue to work on fitness at cardiac rehab//maintenance. Still afraid of "The Gym". Sandy

Wow! Maybe I should move to Friday, you peeps are getting it done.

YAY!!! Great job. I bounced back down 3.2 from previous gain. Back in my zone. And for Linmueller last week, you're welcome to join us Saturday type anytime. Good job for you also.
