  • It was okay. I just learned that I am not cut out for DVD workouts. I stuck with it religiously for 10 weeks, but then was burnt out. I did see some changes, but my weight didnt move much. I wish I had taken accurate measurements before and after. It helped me knock 5 minutes off my best 5k time though!
  • Wow, thank you everyone for the encouragement! Its nice not to feel alone, and you all are just very good at motivating! Two days down of logging everything. Feeling way more back in my groove then the last few attempts these past weeks. Still been over my 1500cal limit these two days, but gradually getting closer to the…
  • Luckily I wasn't being too restrictive in my past program, which is the only reason it worked. I ate whatever I wanted, just made it fit into my calories for the day. It was very easy. I don't think it is that I dread eating at a deficit, I just think I overeat because my eyes are always bigger than my stomach. I always…
  • Ive always considered myself to have thick skin when it comes to those type of comments outside of the immediate friends/family, but today it just struck a nerve. Lately I have heard a bunch of similar comments, and not sure why. I am 5'6 and 139.2lbs as of this morning. Im not obese. I never eat breakfast, and eat lots of…
  • Oh gosh, busted again. I eat the smarties that way. I eat skittles two at a time and they have to be the same color. And with M&M's i have to color coordinate, or eat them singularly. I never realized I had so many food quirks.
  • Well, this coulda been describing me. Lol I have a serious hatred of pickles. I cant stand the taste or smell of them, and then the pickle juice always seeps into the bread. Its gross. I wont send back a sandwich over it, but I definitely don't enjoy it. Also, I am definitely a person who can only eat one part of my meal…
  • I have lost 17lbs this year by starting IF. and I am not strict with it. My favorite part is being able to still eat what I want. I didnt give anything up, and I still lost weight.
  • I definitely feel crazy here and there, even just estimating like i do. Lol. At this point I don't eat until I log it first. No matter dinner, a quick snack, a drink. I think of food constantly, and review my log probably 50 times a day. I also start to stress a little if I go over, but now I just tell myself its a…
  • Well thats good then, for the past 6 months I have been overestimating, but thats way better than underestimating! On another note, I don't weigh anything I eat, but I over estimate a lot, and have lost 16lbs so far :) Only 6lbs more to lose before goal. I have OCD, so counting calories gets borderline obsessive for me,…
  • I didn't like the Red Velvet, Cookies & Cream was pretty blah, but Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Birthday Cake and Chocolate all taste amazing to me. but I will admit, there is NOTHING like the real ice cream. Not a bluebell fan though, Breyers is where my loyalty lies.
  • I have lost about 16lbs from (in truth, CICO) Intermittent Fasting. I fast for 16 hours of the day, and eat in an 8hour window. I try not to eat more than 1500 cal a day. CICO is what makes it happen at the end of the day though. Personally, I found I ALWAYS went over my calorie limit if I ate breakfast. Now, I skip…
  • Yeah I found Walmart here sells it for $4.65, but the gas station down the road sells it for $5.99. I tried Red Velvet last night, and it wasnt my favorite. I will atleast be able to finish the pint, but hopefully the cookies and cream tastes amazing.
  • Well, a friend found some in the local Walmart near where I work... Went there and they had a fresh supply. So I stocked up. Two Birthday Cakes, Two Chocolates, One Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and One Vanilla Bean. I'm dying to get my hands on the Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter Cup, and the Red Velvet, but seems like these…
  • I learned the struggle last night. Went to the store to stock up on HT, but they were all out. Going to try 1-2 other stores tonight, and hopefully can get my hands on some. I loved the chocolate and birthday cake. Definitely want to try the peanut butter cup, cookie dough, and red velvet
  • I never even paid attention to the price, honestly. But I had been buying the Ben & Jerry's frozen yogurt, and that is just as much. I really hadnt bought much ice cream prior anyway, so could justify buying a few pints. But now it may become an every grocery shopping trip thing, lol. Unfortunately Walmart's selection of…
  • I have lost 15lbs in the last 6 months thanks to Intermittent Fasting while counting. It was the ONLY thing that I have found that works for me, and honestly, may not work for you. Just throwing out the idea. It helped keep my hunger pains under control, and is very easy to follow. I have a 1500 cal limit, and only eat…
  • I just started last week! Started with benching 55lbs and deadlifting 115lbs. Can't wait to get back in the gym and keep going.
  • definitely a good read, and honestly the second version of that beginner workout is EXACTLY what I am doing now. Except for the ab workout, which I will probably integrate on my next workout. I need to add in a few other things on my Workout A, but its almost identical to the plan my SO came up with. Minus squats which I…
  • Luckily this gym is fairly new, and not in the best location for many (except super close to us, win!), so the traffic has been minimal. At its busiest I have only seen 7 other people in there. Half of them for cardio. Plus they have 3 different benches too. I love not feeling crowded.
  • This is by far the best answer on this thread. It clicked a lot for me. Thank you for your kindness, and explaining it in such a way. It does make sense through and through, and I know I am frustrating some people by saying I will do this Push/Pull split for a month. But the reason for that is how much I have enjoyed it.…
  • I didnt know replying to comments directed at me was looking for validation. I thought I was conversating. My bad? Yes it is very similar to SL 5x5, but it has taken squats out. I will add in leg presses probably next week, but weighted squats are not on the agenda. you will have to look through the thread on my reasonings…
  • It kinda makes me laugh too. I have dealt with PLENTY of meatheads in my past experiences at the gym, and my boyfriend doesnt fall into that category to me lol. Hes very quiet at the gym, does his routine and keeps to himself. He even offered me to meet a girl he's friends with so she can help me build a program fitted to…
  • So as a person with average goals, not looking to get "Swole"/muscular/compete, just looking for a workout with weights that I enjoy, you are saying the Push/Pull workouts he is helping me with are totally not beneficial to me? After both workouts session with him, I feel great. Sore in all the right areas. I really feel…
  • Never understood what this was until I lifted for the first time Tuesday. I am certainly understanding the definition of it now in my biceps. Hoping consistency will help with how i feel today.
  • You are correct on the Push/Pull split. The only reason it is working one muscle group 1x a week is because we only have a limited amount of time to hit the gym. Right now we can only squeeze in two days a week. So Tuesday's are Push muscles, Thursdays are Pull muscles, and the rest of the days are spent busy as heck…
  • Well i started with 55lbs because the bar was just too light, and 65lbs was just a little too much to do 5 x 5 times. That was for the bench press though.
  • I just did a HIIT workout for the past 90 days and it just wasnt my favorite thing. I certainly lost weight and built muscle, but it got to a point I was just burnt out. I was doing it 6 days a week and was just over it. I have heard so much good about lifting weights, that I figured I would try it. I just want a workout…
  • Thank you for this reply. I agree that eventually I will ask him to help me with form WHILE I do Stronglifts, but right now I just want to learn from scratch. The research I had found on Stronglifts was proven, and I told him that, he just said he does not prefer that style of program because it did not work for him. Of…
  • Glad you know him personally enough to be able to identify him as an idiot. Idiotic recommendation would be a better stance, but even that, I fail to see. I asked for help, he gave me help, and its his fault? Rather it is my fault for asking for help in the first place, right? He's not an idiot for doing a workout which…
  • I want to lift weights. I have never done such before. No I dont "want to follow a bodybuilders routine" but I also wouldnt know what that was if it smacked me in the face. My lanta, how many times do I have to reiterate that I have no idea what I am doing with weight lifting, which is why I asked for help.
