Ivy dwellers, Hi! I heard recently about a woman of 72 who started walking to get fit....then jogging....she's now in her 90's and regularly runs 26 mile marathons!!!! SO, my point is - age is a matter of attitude a lot of the time. Someone can be middle-aged in their twenties and old by their 40's OR they can still be…

That's a major achievement - it shows that you CAN do whatever you set your mind to! Brilliant! Hang on in there and enjoy the journey / the process - looking forward to reaching your goal, knowing you can.
-
Hi! Do add me too you'd like I've not figured out how to add people yet!
-
You can do this!

High protein no carbs works brilliantly n permanently - of course it's not REALLY NO carbs because there IS carbohydrate in green veg and fruit n salad anyway! But it's wonderful!
-
I've found on high protein and very low carbs ( meaning only the carbs that naturally occur in green beg n salad) obsession with food goes - I'm convinced that sugar is addictive and once a person eats some the body begins to demand more and more! Of course any carbs you eat and don't need for energy turn into sugar and…

U.K. Here too - do add me if you'd like

Oh! SOoooo glad you asked that question! I'm new and I've been wondering too

You MIGHT also think about joining one of the challenges such as 9lbs in 9 weeks because that's doable without beating yourself up : )
-
I would suggest you chuck the scales - ask a family member to have them at their house and only let you use them when you visit - maybe once a week! The scales are not your master - YOU can do this. : )
-
Mm... I'm in too! 9in9 sounds doable! I commit to log my eating, eat only what I need and exercise 5 times a week
-
Mm... Don't most people usually diet before and AFTER holiday - all the best with that! Don't beat yourself up if you slip!

Fabulous system - I need to get back on it!! Last time I found gently coming off carbs/sugar over a week left me without any Keto flu-like symptoms : )
-
I'm new to d forum too - welcome, well done.

Can you design yourself a reward system? (not food) - something like you'll put a small amount of money aside each day you're successful and save it up towards some reward for yourself like beauty treatment or clothing or something? If you forget to complete one day - don't 'catastrophise' it, the sky won't fall in! Just…

It's still carbs even if gluten free. I completely agree with you - no carbs n the weight falls off - Atkins "all is forgiven" !

When I cut out carbs & sugar the craving stopped after 2 days and then, eating mainly protein & veg/salad was full for hours n hours n didn't even want to snack! As soon as I went back onto carbs the craving and extra hunger began again.
-
I found cutting out carbs (pasta, bread, potatoes, rice etc) for a month made the difference! Loads of vegetables/salad with meat, poultry or fish. Minimal nuts to snack on. There is a bit of carbohydrate in vegetables n salads so you're not missing out completely n I found I felt fabulous as well as losing weight) Hope…

A calorie is a unit of energy. If you eat more calories than you are going to use up, then the extra ones get turned to fat. If you exercise, you use up more calories BUT your body needs a safe number of calories just to keep going e.g. It takes energy (calories) to keep your heart pumping, walking about, breathing, all…

Me too

Me too. Keyo was a HUGE success for me two years ago, I dropped over 20lbs and felt fabulous - however, for me, I should have carried on avoiding the carbs n adopted Keto for life because when I hit the carbs I was like an addict n couldn't stop..... Put loads back on. Am starting again now and felt so wonderful before,…

Thank you people! Markofsuccess you were right I was able to edit starting weight and it all makes much more sense now. Very grateful! Yes I am using d MFP calorie system and it surprised me that it allows 1400 cals s day! Cheers folks, I'm more cheerful now

Thanks - I need to get my head round beginning logging it all again now rather than getting disheartened n throwing in the towel!
