Since I'm only 40 I don't think I can join this thread. With all the healthy eating and fitness regimes I'm now punishing myself...I mean...enjoying surely I will live until I'm at least a 120 which means I now need to be 60 years old to be classed as middle aged! If not, then what's the point?! :s :#

Oh I forgot to add. I put my 5 year old on both to see if there was any difference. On the dial she was 49lbs and the digital 48lbs!!
-
Great! Thank you everyone. I have now managed to log my measurements. Further inch loss here we go!!
-
So true!! I noticed clothes getting loose between 4-7 weeks. I'm at week 8 and no word of a lie, my sister in law commented how I'd lost weight at the weekend. (I haven't lost lbs only inches, but I'm told it counts all the same :) ) I'll be aiming for the 12 week mark for others to notice....something to motivate me to…

I know exactly how frustrated you feel! It's so demoralising. I started eating less and exercising more 8 weeks ago and haven't lost a single pound! I even started a post on here because I couldn't understand why. I got great support, just like you have and soon realised that losing lbs is not the only important thing.…

For some reason it posted without me finishing... Hahaha! Thought I'd deleted that one. When I thought about it I realised I am full. I checked out your lunch and that was impressive! What's more impressive is the exercise you put in to counteract the calories!
-
Yup you were right. I am full!! I think I'll probably stll be too full for dinner! Thank you for all the tasty suggestions, they will come in very handy in the future.
-
I can't tell you how relieved I am that someone else had the same thought. :) It's a weird and wonderful world.
-
Thank you.

Please don't take my 73 calories away from me! I've only just got used to it.
-
I'm pretty new to mfp too and I have to admit that this has really confused me. My garmin vivofit tracks my daily steps and I average 14000 steps a day, give or take. I really don't know what I should be putting as activity level either but as a guess I set mine as lightly active. If you don't move much in your average day…

Whoop! Whoop! I get to eat more!!! *visualise a near enough 40 year old doing mum dancing around livingroom* Oh, on second thoughts please don't it'll hurt your brain!! I will not abuse the extra 73 calories you have given me...I will be careful. Thanks. :)

Your title made me think something horrendous had happened. Like someone had broken in and done something awful to your treadmill to make it smell, possibly urinated?? So relieved to read the rest of your post and discover that no such thing had happened but had a giggle over how ridiculous my mind is!!! Pointless in me…

Oops. Sorry must have hit quote on your comment by mistake and not his.

I just entered my stats in TDEE and it calculated to maintain my weight I should be eating 2203 calories per day but I can't find on it how many calories I need to lose weight. It may be that I just don't understand it but I think I will stick to mfp and just see how things for now. Thanks to all for their help.
-
I will give TDEE a try, thank you. I have a garmin vivofit to track my steps and it connects to mfp. It's funny because garmin connect calculates my remaining calories differently to mfp. I usually have more calories left on connect, but I follow mfp's calculation to be on the safe side.

Thanks.

Ok. Done. Thanks.

I'm a mum of four...there is no "doesn't friggin stop all day" setting to pick on it!! :D I will pick light active then.
-
Yes. For activity level it has - not very active - lightly active - active - and very active to choose from.
-
I'm in the U.K and sedentry is not listed. I chose "not very active" thinking it would allow me less calorie intake and easier to lose weight(?) I think it's safe to say that I don't understand which setting I should have it on.
-
Not breastfeeding anymore, stopped at 4months-ish.
-
"Not very active" settings and to lose 1lb per week. If I set to light active what difference will that make?
-
Yipee I can eat more????!!! *hopefull* :D :D I'm 5'8" and weigh 175lbs. Before pregnancy I usually weighed 150 lbs or there about.
-
Question conserning glycogen...should I be decreasing my carb intake even though I rarely go over the "allowance" mfp has set for me. Will increasing my fluid intake make a difference?? Or just stick with it and ride it out. Thanks.
-
Hahahaha *laughing hysterically* "You days". Haven't had one of those in over eleven years!!
-
I'm 23 weeks post pregnancy. I gained around 42 lbs and have lost 21 lbs up to 8 weeks ago, that was when I decided to take it really seriously and reduce calorie intake to 1630 a day(I can't reduce it further otherwise I'll starve to death :D ) I walk every day anyway and mostly do 14000 steps and above. I do home…
-
Me too! I felt so discourcouraged not seeing any lbs loss on the scales after 7 weeks of exercising and reducing calories, having previously been losing roughly a lb a week not really doing anything productive to lose weight but I was steadily losing baby blubber nevertheless. I posted my frustration on here and got great…

Standing in the rain watching my 11 yr old in her riding lesson wishing it was me galloping at a 100mile per hour around the arena! And obviously looking at mfp to pass the time....

I love "bodyfit by Amy" on youtube. She has great beginners videos as well as intermediate and advanced. I thought about buyingvT25 but gave youtube a try first and found lots of "free" and useful stuff on there.
