Hi camtosh, I wish I could advise you, I just don't know enough about these things. I do remember that around that time I was eating extremely low carbs and very high protein. I have moderated my diet a great deal now because I just could not stick to a diet of such extremes. Whether that helped - I've really no idea. I…

Many thanks, canadjineh, I wondered about protein, a couple of years ago I was diagnosed with CKD stage 3 but I seem to be clear now. I have no gall bladder now but that doesn't bother me. I have arthritic hips and knees so I'm trying to get my weight down - lighten the load. :)

I forget to say I do no exercise other than I need in my daily life. I spend a lot of time sitting. I'm in Tier 3 lockdown in England.

This is my totals for today. At eighty-seven years old I'd be grateful to know the opinion of other posters here. Both brickbats and bouquets.

Hi Marinashebadd87, I wish you determination and success. You will make your own luck - with determination. :)

That is wonderful DiabeticDer, I'm not diabetic but my DiL is and I worry about her, she eats way too many carbs but I can't a won't interfere. I'm low carbing simply to lose weight and avoid ill health. I am 87 and healthier than she is at sixty which is wrong especially in these pandemic times.

Hi, I don't know if you've heard of him but a friend was pre-diabetic and is no longer. His own diabetes is in remission. His books can be bought in Amazon. Good luck! https://thebloodsugardiet.com/

Eating too much, especially carbs. Then came the yo-yo dieting.

I like his other brother, discipline and as maidengirl_ says his other relatives, determination and dedication. Thinking about it there's a tremendous amount of help out there. All we have to do is ask. Many thanks to all here from this nutty old Brit'. :)

Yes, a good post but isn't it really making the argument for discipline rather than willpower perhaps even hinting that they're interchangeable or one and the same thing?
-
Mmn, several, I think.

My goodness there's a lot to digest and all of it non fattening. Thank you. :)

Nothing beats having a professional fitting. That way you will find a brand that suits you. It is worth paying a little extra for a bra that is a good if and is comfortable.

EvilShenanigansTX , Could you have said 'no' to this offer and just not taken part in it? Have any other employees refused to try it? Did you feel coerced into joining in? Or did you think, okay, I'll give it a try? Sorry about the questions, I just feel uncomfortable about the whole idea.

Hear, hear!

Yes!! I never exercise, I'm too old and arthritic, in fact I find normal walking an effort. So far I have lost 36lbs calorie counting. If I can do it anyone can!

Horses for courses. The OP has made a wise decision for herself. Good luck to her, I say.

Many thanks, it wasn't me but your post is very much appreciated. :)

It could be a temporary increase in fluid if you haven't been used to eating vegetables so could go with a whoosh. Don't get downhearted and good luck.

There is nothing wrong with having a snack as long as it is added in your calorie count. Late this evening I am having two Jaffa cakes @ 43 calories each. This will be whilst I read my bedtime book.

Many thanks.

Are the carbs in the food diary meant to be net of fibre or whole please? Sorry to butt in.

Many thanks to you all, I will check with my doctor. I tend to get low moods rather than clinical depression, this is why I thought Vitamin D3 might help. Again, thank you.

I have just bought some Vitamin D3 3000iu soft gel, one per day. I am prescribed Accrete, 600 mg calcium (as calcium carbonate 1500 mg) and 10 micrograms of colecalciferol (equivalent to 400 IU vitamin D3). I live in the north east of England and am elderly. I am out doors extremely little. I don't think I'd be taking to…

I wonder if you need new kitchen scales? Just a thought...

Not the worst, just one of the worst....

I don't use artificial sweeteners but I have been told I am letting my countries farmers down by not eating English butter, I prefer Lurpak. I must not buy French strawberries - I wasn't given a reason for that. I lived through 6½ years of war when the butter ration was 2oz per week and strawberries grown by my dad were…
