https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoSnXBaGmkRZCy2ZQqgCQXw I like Jason Gallant, he's a little different from a lot of channels, he's a successful natural bodybuilder and has a very good mantra / catchphrase "train the muscles, not the joints". He gave me a slightly different perspective and really emphasises 'finding your…

It is important that you get to know the different sorts of aches and pains, like the difference between a muscle that has been given a good work out and is just suffering from doms, or an aching tendon or a tweaked joint or small muscle tear. i'm having a hard time articulating this, and it's something you get with…

perfectly normal, delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). you better get used to this feeling, and learn to embrace and love it.

I just did some squats a couple of days ago after not doing any for months. my quads are on fire lol

I would say it's time to cut, you've added 36 lbs in 8 months or so, you'll be lucky if 10lbs of that is lean muscle. Your strength goes up when you have more total mass, which is one of the reasons why you see strength gains with a higher body fat percentages. It's a reasons why powerlifters are often carrying a decent…

Broccoli is great, eat away imho

If you are worried about your rotator cuffs do exercises to strengthen them specifically such as face pulls. You don't want to ruin your rotator cuffs!

It is possible to warm up for weights, by doing weights, really you shouldn't ever start your weightlifting workout at the max working weight for that session. Take squats for instance, I always do a couple of sets of the empty bar to start, then add weight incrementally, usually 50lbs at a time, doing 3 reps at each warm…

If you are talking about in an individual workout whether to do cardio or weight lifting first I have heard that it's best to do weights first, and this is the approach I take. The main reason is safety. If you do weights when you are fatigued then you are at a higher risk of injury if you push yourself because you are…

Also the professional cyclists are on performance enhancing drugs. Don't forget that fact.

I do the elliptical in the gym but never really think of it as a leg exercise, definitely just a cardio thing for me. I think leg gains from elliptical would be minuscule.
-
I think it depends on your starting point. If you an average joe, you'll get some benefits to your from cycling. I've never done a calf exercise in my life but I have cycled regularly since I was a kid and my calves are somewhat ridiculous. Thighs are big by regular joe standards - but not by bodybuilder standards. Last…

Yeah this is how I have mine, sometimes without the peanut butter, sometimes with honey, sometimes with raisins as well It’s so damn good

If you are consuming a lot of protein powder you might have some really nasty farts

I never used to eat breakfast but I have made an absolute routine of having a bowl of oatmeal, usually with a banana and a splash of honey. And coffee, I find my brain and body work a lot better with this approach. Sometimes I will just feel like having a cheeky quick run or something before breakfast though.
-
wouldn't 12 hours fasting a day be really really easy like 8 hours sleep + don't eat 2 hours before sleep + don't eat for 2 hours after you wake up? like a really normal pattern of eating?
-
Fresher tastes better
-
I chop them up and put one in my oatmeal for breakfast ftw!

hahah this. also +1ing the people who mentioned weight training, you cannot spot reduce (without liposuction) but you can add muscle to a specific area which can improve the look of that area and make it appear leaner.

Get the book ‘Convict Conditioning’ has some fundamental body weight excecises with multiple variations to obtain progressive overload. For instance a regular push-up is just step 5 of 10, step 10 being one handed pushups. Same for pull-ups, step 5 is a regular pull up, step six is close grip, step 10 is one armed pull up.…

You can eat an awful lot of vegetables for very little calories. It does obviously depend upon how you eat them, make a thick butter sauce or drench them in a gallon of olive oil and the benefit is reduced. I find it a lot easier to stick to fairly strict calorie allowances when I am just eating plants. I love meat and…

why don't you want to eat the sweet potato? sweet potato is a food of the gods, roast the *kitten* so that it's all soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. or cut it up into fries, drizzle with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, cayenne, cinnamon and throw into a bowl with rosemary and mix it all up, then roast. I am…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq0V6Ejf_XI&t=985s Alex AlphaDestiny has some really solid neck / trap workouts

do curls and tricep pushdowns for your arms. and lots of them. don't listen to those who say to only do heavy compound lifts and that will grow your arms - whilst these movements (squats/deadlift/bench/overhead press etc etc) are very important for overall strength, high volume work for your arms can and does work as a…

I think that stronglifts is a good program but I think the rapid progress and ability to squat reasonably heavy weights with mediocre or poor form can lead to injuries if you are not careful. I ran 5x5 a couple of years back and got up to the weights that the OP is now doing and managed to tweak my back at around this…

It takes a reasonable amount of time to loose muscle mass through atrophy,so just go slow and steady, work with a small deficit, keep your protein levels high and maintain training frequency and intensity. You might loose a bit of strength on some lifts / workouts, but you wont shrink like a wool jumper in a boil wash.
-
Start with the empty bar, work on your form until you are comfortable and slowly add weight. No harm doing things safely and taking it slow.
-
yeah I second this, I dont feel the need to buy a program from anyone, but Jeff's content on the Athlean X channel is fantastic and very educational. Certainly has helped me on my fitness journey

What is more annoying, people making chit chat in the gym or in the sauna?
