  • How and why do you "blow it"? Are you feeling hungry or bored? Is it more emotions that make you go towards food?
  • I second @vespiquenn Your case is very specific. Is there any way you can be refered to a registered dietician who will be able to advise you on your needs with both weight loss and cancer treatment?
  • I struggled with binge eating and depression in my early 20s (it started years before that but that was the worst period). I realized I needed help after one night where I binged on pizzas (yes plural). I ate 2 large, ended up vomiting because my stomach just couldnt handle he excess. I was in a lot of pain... and yet I…
  • Fluctuations are normal... especially for women!!!! I weigh myself daily (which isnt for everyone) because I like to see how my weight evolves from one day to the next. For example, saturday mornig I weighed 278. I went on a long walk the same day, burned 1200cal, ended up with a 1000+ calories deficit for the day on top…
  • I am 278lbs (roughly 20 stones), on not very active settings and I am allowed 1700 cal to loose 1.5lbs a week so you can definitely eat more than 1500cal/day. As for cheap protein, try also beans, lentils, split pea and that kind of things. Eggs are great too. And I agree with @Tiny_Dancer_in_Pink you could really benefit…
  • I started the day after you. So far I have lost 40lbs with at least 100 to 130lbs more to loose. Add me!
  • It will sounds cliché but you cant help someone that doesnt want to be helped. Keep being there for him and make sure he knows you will be there for him if and when he decides to get help. In the meantime, focus on you. Take care of yourself and dont let the situation prevent you from achieving your goals.
  • Have you weighed your food to make sure you are not overestimating calories? If you're sure about your calories, it might just be a little more water weight or that you have gained a bit of muscle... it is just one week. As hard as it is sometimes you just have to be patient. If you keep your calories in/out under your…

  • Okaaaayyy. MfP cut my post so here it goes. @MermaidPrincessRach Congrats on 100 days! It doesnt matter if you lost 10 or 100lbs you are loosing and taking the steps towards your goal and that's what matters! @Lives2Travel Welcome back. I am rather new but I love this group! It helps so much. Congrats on not only loosing…
  • For the last 3 days I made a conscious effort of logging my fluid intake and increasing it. I normally would say I drink around 2L of water (give or take depending on if I remember to drink). I have put my fitbit goal at 4L and have been drinking anywhere between 3 and 3.5 and wow -2lbs in 2 days! On the downside though I…
  • Wendy's baconator with mcdonalds fries... probably 2 days worth of calories :'-(
  • I tried those... and wrecked my back so I think I will try until I have a little less weight pulling towards the ground lol
  • I dont do a lot of exercising except for walking. My schedule doesnt really give me the time for it... or the energy for that matter. Whatever I do I do it on saturdays. Not much but it's a start.

  • @rahimlj Even if you did "screw up" tomorrow is another day. It is okay to have junk food everyhing once in a while, just log it anyway, if possible exercise more to compensate part if not all of it and stay under your calorie allowance after that. It is hard and it is a fight but you can eat anything that you want....…
  • Yeah that was a few years back. Just got a crazy idea and went for it... It took me slightly over 4 hours and about 48h to be able to feel my legs again LOL I have been overweight and then obese all of my adult life and tryig to loose on and off but this time I want to make it stick. I have started MFP almost 3 months ago…
  • There is a list of them on the toronto.ca website. I am going to download the list and hopefully get through all of them. Anyone wanna join?
  • @birgitkwood Congratulations that is an awesome achievement. I realized my hundredth day will be the same day than my last challenge weigh in... extra motivation to reach my goal! Welcome (back) to everyone new!
  • I once walked all the way from Kennedy and Huntingwood to Bloor and Yonge... Id like to get back to long distance like that eventually.
  • @synchkat I just started last week tbh. I onky walked a small part of the Don Trail between Don Mills and Overlea and Beechwood Drive (Pape and O'Connor area). It gave me the idea the keeping at it every week for a couple hours or so each week and do the whole Don Trail to the lake and then the waterfront trail all the way…
  • I live in Toronto. I dont do weight training though but I am trying to find a saturday walking partner(s). I put in my mind to walk the different walking trails in the city.
  • You can add me. I joined 3 months ago and lost 36 lbs so far... and still have about 140 more to go. The way I see it, the more support the better!
  • Does anybody else here have a Fitbit sync to MFP. I am trying to understand how it calculate the calories I burn but so far it doesnt seem to make much sense. For example, yesterday I took 10000 steps, mostly by walking in place at work when I have a break and it says I burnt over 1000 cal. Today I took 13500+ steps…
  • @Nikion901 my vote goes for the change to challenge total as well.

  • Monday check-in. Well the 30 day challenge is over for me after 10 days. My back gave out yesterday so I will wait until it feels better and will try easing back into it in a couple weeks or so I think. I wish I could take time off work but I have another 8 weeks to go. Also I apparently won the neighbour lottery. My next…
