I worked out consistently from 18-24 then I stopped until 30. I have been working out from 31-35 consistently. It's definitely different. In my early 20s, I would squat 3-4 plates for reps, and I would try to squat as much as possible-- 700 to to 800lbs. I would never attempt something like that at my current age. I can do…

No it's not conjecture. Every twins-reared-apart study has shown a 60-70% genetic component to behavior and within last 5 years dozens, GWAS have isolated genetic components to behavior. The blank-state is a very antiquated way of thinking.

I work in biotechnology, and all I have worked for are genetic testing Companies. Mainly the bigger named companies. I worked in the finance side the companies, but I always tried to keep informed of certain objectives and research projects. Based on my experience most, if not all human traits, are 50-70% determined by…

Hmmm... I skipped a few days recently (due to birthday and reaching a 17lbs lost milestone) , but have logged more than 60 days. Are those days not available? The donut was from a mom-n-pop shop, and I used to the Dunkin donut as an analogue. Fat in meat is one thing, but deep fried food is something else.

I eat McDonald's, but I get an egg white delight. I rarely eat more than 60grams fat a day. I eat a heavy breakfast normally, but I don't eat heavy for lunch and dinner. Usually 97 turkey or chicken breast and broccoli. What I don't normally eat much of are deep fried foods, which is what a donut is.

Based on what I see at the gyms I go to, which is one large commercial gym and one small local gym, I have bottom tier strengh. :-( Most men can lift 135 for reps, and I barely lift more than that for more regular exercise routine. :-(

You look great! Wow

My dreams always involve a nuclear war and the aftermath. Food is usually at a premium

I have been drinking diet Coke for nearly 16 years. Regular Coke tastes really weird to me.

I feel like I achieved a recomp, but I am not sure. I lost 19 lbs so far. 197 to 179 @ 5'9. However, I can wear a size 33, which I normally can't fit unless I am at 170-175lbs. I want to believe that I put on a few pounds of muscle while losing weight, but I feel like that is not possible. I lift weights 4-6 times a week

I had an employee that ate spoonfuls of peanut butter on cut diet. The guy couldnt have weighed more than150lbs @ 5'3. I thought he was just going to get fat, but he dropped down to what looked like 6-8% BF, and was built like a musclemania contestant. I am not sure if drugs were involved, but it seems like all he ate was…

My chest is my weakest muscle group. I can barely do 225 for one rep, which I would imagine is below average for someone my age and height (35yo 5'9 179lbs) I still do my little 165lbs for sets of 6-8 x4, and I don't care if other people look down on me.

The study seem legit to me, but I don't have the background to really opine on anything. I am just not even going to do squats anymore. It's too complicated, and seems really easy to mess up with dire consequences. My legs and calve muslces are very large due to my genetics, and I don't need to do many leg exercises to…

One of my employees had the same problem as you, but she was a vegan. She got her protien from beans, hemp seeds, and quinoa. She ate the same thing every morning. Hemp seeds, beans and quinoa. She was a 37 year old blonde bombshell, I think her strict diet helped her with her skin and overall look because I thought she…

I look more muscular, and my cheeks are more defined. I don't have that weird depleted sickly look that I see many dieters get. I think it's because I weight lift and carb cycle, but I am not sure..

Is this what donuts were doing to my body before, but I was just used to it? Unbelievable.
-
I got that from study that was linked here on this forum. Not youtube.

Well, During the 20 rep set, I get more winded than anything else. My muscles burn, but it's not like they fail out. It's more like my cardio-system fails because of low stamina.
-
Some study came out recently that suggest all that matters is lifting to Failure. 135 @20 brings me close to failure, and feels safer. I also heard that 20 reps is the best way to warm up.

He will be huge soon. You will be fit and more attractive. You will love him, but the prospects of mates on your level will pull at you until his heart is broken. Just move on.

With all this paleo BS going around, I am surprised bugs grubs, and worms aren't more popular. They were most definitely a staple of the Paleo diet.
-
I usually bank calories so I can eat a donut or two on sundays
-
I have the same experience. Just keep your mind on the goal and chill

If you're stronger than a potential mate, then you need to move on to someone else. I have seen some very attractive girls incline pressing with 35-45lbs dumbells. Michelle Obama used 45lbs. Unfortunately, a lot of guys struggle with that weight on an incline press. Women who lift and don't take hormones have the best…

Good point

A lot people see bodybuilders as narcissistic, ego driven, self-important morons. It's doesn't help when there is a semi-built looking late 20s moron in the gym making loud noises, using bad form, but still looks above average due to his stack. So many guys on gear and they don't even compete. I don't get it?

I'd rather walk in the rain or even the snow than spend 1 hour walking stationary towards a TV. I find that walking and running on a treadmill is easier like it's and assisted exercise.

It's amazing! Congratulations to you!

I eat McDonald's breakfast 2-3 times a week and I still lost 1lb per week. I started at 197 and I now weight 179.
