Hi Kimberly, welcome to MFP. I'm in my 40s but no kids. I love this ap and have lost 23.5 lbs since the beginning of May. Still have a long way to go! :-)

Welcome! My first time using an app to help lose weight too... & it's working. I love it! :-)

Getting back to the original post.. welcome to MFP. Logging is really helpful to see where you may need to make some changes. I've been on here just over a month and am successfully losing weight. The support of MFP mates is really helpful too plus you can get ideas from their food diaries. Ill send you a friend request,…

Hello. Sorry, couldn't help but laugh as my husband had the same reaction when he started on MFP. He creates his own burgerless buns now. Plus we've found a bread that we like & is lower in cals than others. Plus you'll learn to adjust things, for eg. Instead of a sandwhich with 2 pieces of bread I'll have an open…

Last time I went to WW I asked a really good mate if she'd like to join. (We had done it together years before). She hummed & harred about it & in the meantime I started losing weight & posted my happy moments on social media & She started posting negitives of being slim & saying being overweight was healthy. I felt she…

Ow! I've had that problem with my feet. They'd barely touch the floor & the pain would be excruciating! Good on you for deciding enough is enough. Your welcome to add me for extra support. :-)

Good on you for taking the first step! I love MFP & the MFP community have been so supportive! I finally found something that works! It can work for you too!

Hi, I'm also a lady in my 40s and I've also done WWs but found it frustrating when my weight loss stalled. Felt like I was throwing my money away! Of course I put all the weight back on. Someone suggested MFP and I'm now down 10kg. (22ish lbs) Still have along way to go, but loving this app & the support from MFP buddies…

Imagine my frustration when mine was a month long! (Yes I am working with a specialist now) :-)
-
Last week... only 7 minutes to go! :-) I might get 3 hours this week! :-) :-)

Hi. My story is similar. Gp gave me 3 months to lose 10 kg (22 lbs) to lower my blood pressure or she'd put me on medication. I started in May & have just reached that goal & my blood pressure has dropped. Sick of being obese tho so my journey continues. You can do it too! Feel free to add me for support. :-)

Congratulations on taking the first step!

My husband thought he would join in pn this challenge. He did get two hours in last week. A comment he made tonight revealed he thought the challenge was only for one week. On hearing that it is a month long, he surprised me by getting out the Nintindo Wii and did a fast paced 1/2 hr of step! What a good man! :-)

I made it outside today, into the sunshine even tho it was a little cold. I drove down to the beach and walked along there and around the hilly neighbourhood. So half an hour yesterday & just over an hour today puts me in good shape for meeting this weeks 2hrs before my surgery on Thursday. :-)

Just completed my two hours for this week. Yay! :-)

I love the Fibre One Brownie too... a chocolatey, chewy treat!

Hi. Im 45 & started 212lbs at the beginig of May. I lost a bit on my own & got stuck. This ia my 3rd week on MFP and am now 192lbs with a long way to go. Im a 5"1 female by the way. Have not been active but have kicked up the pace with walking & exercise at home. Your welcome to add me. :-)

Did the "2 Mile Walk at Home" on Utube. 30 minutes. Great workout! :-)
-
Day 1 - My husband beat me to the start line this morning doing 20mins of step on Wii Fit Plus - a new activity for him! I've just completed the Leslies Sansone Walk 2 miles at home in 30 mins for the first time. Was amazed I actually did it & don't feel like im going to drop dead! :-) :-) :-) :-)

Ah, thank you for taking the time to answer my question, that does make sense! :-)

For some reason my thinking was if a lighter person & a heavier person exerted the same amount of effort that the heavier person would burn more calories because they have added weight. Don't know where that line of thinking came from & it has now started a physics conversation in my house. Oh dear! :-)

More info please. I have a minor surgery on the 6th but hoping I can join in.

Was a cold, wet day here so couldn't get my walk in today. Made use of our Nintendo Wii instead doing 20 mins of yoga, 20 mins of step & a couple of minutes doing hula hoop just for fun! :-)

Good on you! :-)
