Yes, flying off the treadmill is a real thing. No, it's not just in the cartoons. I was running on it and had a towel hanging on the front of it. It slipped off and instead of just letting it drop on my feet I tried to hop out of the way and took a ride off the end on my butt. Last weekend during a class we were lifting…

10 lb weights maybe try Russian twists. (Google it.)

For clarity: I go to 2 gyms Gym 1 is a chain where I go to a weekly bootcamp. This is where I plan to try 5x5 when I am ready. There is no lighter bar. I asked them about that and was pretty much brushed off. But they do have the bars used for bodypump that are super light - like 2 lbs. I find them pretty slippery though.…

I can't say it's an official fail for me because I have not exactly attempted it but here is my post: I take a Women and Weights class that is going great. I am learning proper form for all kinds of lifts. I have downloaded Stronglifts thinking maybe I will do it after I have learned more. Stronglifts has me starting my…

Oh ok. I had better get an eye test then. Thanks. I don't have coverage till the Spring but I don't want to mess with this. I guess I need to pay out of pocket but that is ok. I am just being cheap. ☺

I know this is an old thread but I did a search before starting a new one. Holy smokes, it has happened to me! After a 65 lb loss I noticed myself taking my glasses off while reading and using a computer. (I have progressives) I never put 2 and 2 together but it has to be the weight loss. I can't see far away and put the…

Don't track it as exercise but for your activity level select "active."

Why not cancel for a month or 2 then reassess?

There is nothing wrong with eating 2 breakfasts and 7 snacks a day if it fits in your calorie goal for the day. Where is the problem? Some days I don't eat actual meals at all and just snack all day.

That is amazing Andreas!! Way to go. You should be so proud of all your hard work.

You look fantastic dude! High 5!

Best of luck! All the surprises you will face are fun!

I am 47 and just lost 63 lbs. (So I am close to 50) To me it's been way easier this attempt because I have had less distractions with social outings and peer pressures like I had in my 30s. Plus I have more money and could afford a gym membership, an air fryer, Halo Top, some kettlebells and other things to help keep me on…

Wow, well done! I second the recommendation to take a maintenance/refeed/diet break for a bit. 10 days to 2 weeks is recommended. When I did that I was ready to tackle and conquer more. Best of luck.

Rest days can really suck. I tend to do the stuff I feel too rushed to do on workout days. Shopping, appointments, laundry, tv. That way I forget how lost I feel without a workout.

I used to really enjoy bodypump. It was a great intro to strength training for me. I now take a great class called "women and weights" and it's so much better. I would never set foot in a bodypump class now. Those same tracks over and over are enough to drive anyone batty. I go to my new class and have no idea what the…

Oh wow! Point well taken. You look fantastic!

Yep. Keep weighing your foods. You will see all kinds of surprises sadly. Best of luck; you can do it!

Awesome, congrats! :) :) :) :)

You are gorgeous in both pictures! But well done on your success. You have been working very hard.

Well done! And don't worry. The dating won't be an issue for you at all!

When I started at the gym last Oct. 1st, I heard a stat something like "Only 9% of all yearly gym memberships will get renewed." Don't quote me. It might have even been 7%; I can't remember. I am in Canada. But that stat surprised me. That is horrible. That was a huge motivator for me to keep plugging away. I don't want to…

I know lots of people who pay monthly for a gym membership but just refuse to cancel it because they claim they do intend to go. That is such a waste of money.

What I hate is now not being able to be so footloose and fancy free about what I eat. Before I never gave it any thought. I just ate whatever and how much of what I felt like. I mean it got me into the obese category but it was easy. I will never go back to the way I was, but it was pretty good. Lol

Get work! I can see a big difference. Keep it up.

Nobody told me that when you lose weight in your arms then long sleeve shirts will become too long in the sleeves!

In addition to calories I only looked at sodium at the beginning of my weight loss because my blood pressure was high. But low and behold as I lost weight the blood pressure dropped significantly so now I look only at calories.

Oh I am so glad to hear you will get some weight training in! Very wise of you. Please keep us posted! Best of luck meeting your goals.
