We live in Va. so it gets hot, but the temp is not horrible in the morning, and I trim her fur in the summer. I’ll give her more time to grow up & talk to the vet again. Thank you for all of your recommendations.

So far we walk a mile regularly. But she barely runs 3 blocks.

she is attention motivated. She wants both rubs, and treats. She really doesn’t want treats while out on runs or walks. We run/walk on asphalt/ sidewalks. Her vet said she is fine to run, and her genetic history is clear for any issues. She is ok around cars. She doesn’t like when cars beep their horns (people in my…

The Richmond Half Marathon was my last big race. Then I stopped running as much over the holiday season. But my friend and I have set a goal to run 1 race (5ks, fun runs, 8ks, 10k, and a few half’s) every month for 2019. I still feel like I should be working on more than just running though, so I’m I need of inspiration.

I have a few goals this year... 1. A running friend and I have decided to try to do 1 race(5k or longer ) every month. We have planned to do the Shamrock Half, Highbridge Half, and Richmond Half Marathon so far as a few of the races . I’m hoping for a PR. 2. Lose some weight. 3. Build endurance

I kept the 12:10 pace most of the race... I finished with a 2:38:36 official time. I still felt like I had some in the tank to run longer... I’ll keep training so I can try to PR net year.

I loved my college gym at VCU. The Cary Street Gym had everything I wanted and needed in a workout. They spoiled me. I have been going to The Y and planet fitness fo a few months. It’s sad. I work at the Y and hate their gym. If I go in the mornings the showers are always cold, pool almost always booked, lots of the…

@Iporter229 I have run some of my 3 and 4 mile runs at 10-10:30 min paces but not much else. My routes are usually pretty hilly so I haven’t incorporated a lot of stuff into my training. This is the first HM I’ve ever trained for. I have done a HM before 2 years ago, but it was a dare that I hadn’t trained for.

I’m doing the Richmond half in 2 weeks and the shamrock half in March. Shamrock is definitely a fun race.
-
I hope the race went well. I’m running the Richmond Half Marathon in November. And hoping to do the Shamrock Half in March.

I’ve run a few long runs and a half in the rain. I really don’t change anything. I’ve tried putting body glide on my feet before but didn’t notice any real change. Afterwards I’d just stuff your shoes with newspapers so they dry and don’t stink

I signed up to run a half marathon in college and didn’t train much if at all. I had never been a runner... it took 3:09:14 now I am working to become a runner. 1.What motivates you to run? I am now trianing for a half marathon to see how well I can do if I actually train. I would like to one day be able to call myself a…

I personally love to run in the rain because it cools me down and makes me feel great. I also have learned not to let bad weather change my plans because I could always have bad weather race day and would have to deal with it so now I train in it.

Thanks for the ideas. I have a couple pairs of running shoes that I use interchangeably. I also have socks and sports bras that I like for running. Unfortunately my hair is too big for a hat unless I wear a visor or braid it up. I haven’t figured out what I want to do about water yet. ( when I run at home I run past my…

Yes. I live in a rural area that stays pretty hot and humid. I’m training for a half marathon and am starting to up my mileage. I usually am thirsty by the 3 mile mark. So I don’t know how much farther I could push without water.

How do the garmin fitness apps stack up to those of the Fitbit or Apple?
-
Read Panini911’s first post. She uses 2 separate watches... I just meant that I wouldn’t be able to do what she does
-
I meant in response to the person I replied to. She has a fit bit and a Garmin that she uses interchangeably and I cannot afford to do that.
-
I did look at the Garman Vivoactive3 Before I actually got a fit bit. And I like what they have to offer I just can’t afford to get two watches for daily life and exercise.
-
I didn’t invite her to go. She asked what the plans were for the mornings while we are on vacation. I said that me and friend 2 would be running before breakfast, and would meet them after. Friend 1 then proceeded to invite herself for the runs.

None of my friends like outside activities... they act like they will melt in the rain.
-
That sounds awesome. I would love to start hiking/ climbing. But because I’m a beginner I’m afraid to go by myself.
-
That sounds like a great idea. I was a kinesiology major in college and wore workout gear exclusively for 4 years. And now I really don’t have many normal clothes so I’m tryna add more clothes to my wardrobe.

I’ve used vanilla protein powder in mine before. It made my coffee sweet, and gave me a protein boost.

Wow. I’ve never asked any of the guys I’ve dated how much they made. In my opinion it’s none of my business until we get to the stage of sharing bills, or marriage.
-
This is exactly how I feel. I’d would do a FWB as long as as we’re not sleeping around lol.

I have the form down for all the lifts mentioned in the 5*5 plan. In college we were required to learn these lifts for a class, and get graded by a strength and conditioning coach.... I just never really lifted outside of that one semester and would like to get more involved in strength training.
