  • Last time I went to the doctor he checked my weight too. It turned out I was 3kg heavier on the scale then when I checked earlier that morning. I blamed the difference on my clothes and breakfast. My doctor doesn't have a hightech scale though. Just a basic scale most doctors have here since forever. I check in the…
  • I decided to throw it away because it kept bothering me like what if my guests will get sick? It's a waste but I don't want to give food poisoning for late Christmas.
  • It's not me who clicked the disagree. I always find it strange when I see that on perfectly fine posts. And yes I googled but I found different views. I don't think it was completely defrosted as I still saw some ice here and there when I did put it back in the freezer. Maybe I will just toss it out just to be safe...
  • Thank you! When I started in june I never thought I would make it this far so fast. I just stepped on the scale and although I was a bit stuck the last 2 weeks I suddenly lost 1kg. So 500 grams to go for 20 kg in 2020. Now I'm extra motivated :)
  • Needed something cheerful :) https://youtu.be/f21KrWqxJqM
  • My plan is exercise more during these weeks and maybe eat a bit less unless I'm hungry and then for Christmas or New Year enjoy all the yummy food in moderation. I don't want to limit myself on those days. And a few weeks ago I had the idea of maybe it's cool to aim for 20kg weight loss in 2020 but I'm still 1,5KG away and…
  • Wow a complete meal for 4 in an airfryer. That won't fit in mine.. Or maybe it does depending on what kind of meal. And we have the Philips XXL.
  • I would get a bike or ebike but no idea if your country is a bit bike friendly. I hardly use public transport in general, I don't have a driver's license so I do cycle everywhere unless it's within walking distance (let's say a 30 minute walk maximum). Cycling is also more friendly on the knees.
  • The Airfryer is just a small oven. Since we the Philips Airfryer I hardly use the normal oven we have. As long as it fits in the airfryer it goes in the airfryer. Not only for french fries but also for bread, veggies, taco's etc. It's easy and fast. If you are just using it for yourself and now you heat up the normal oven…
  • Every other day unless I have been sweaty or done something that made me dirty again like a Jeep Safari in Crete. I have dry and quite sensitive skin so every day is a no go for me unless it's really needed.
  • When I started MFP I was obese and MFP gave me only 1500 kcal a day. I noticed that for me that might not be enough. So I did some research online and I found out 1500 is close to/ or is a crash diet and then I asked a friend who is a dietitian and she said I should eat more too. Then I came across a video of a Dutch…
  • Honestly I'm not that accurate with weighing everything I eat. I assume the weight in the package is correct and an apple is an apple. I don't check if that apple is 100 grams or 200 grams. Or a hand of blueberries, never weigh it. Could be 20 grams but also could be 50. I once did weigh a hand of almonds. I was assuming…
  • Maybe you can make pasta with lot's of veggies and chicken? I eat cold left over pasta the next day for lunch and it always still tastes great.
  • To have lost 2,8 kg by December 31st. Because then I lost 20 kg since I started my weight loss journey. First I was thinking to aim for a BMI of 25 but I think losing 8 kilo's is unrealistic, specially with Christmas. Lucky me we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the Netherlands. So I only have Christmas to deal with when it…
  • I have nothing to hide but on the other hand I don't want to be judged when I have an unhealthy day or people getting the wrong idea. I'm lazy at times and my logging is not always 100% accurate. Sometimes when my mother prepared a meal I obviously do not know how many grams of each ingredient she used so then I log a…
  • I do agree with the fact that calorie counting can be a trigger for some but for me it's a great tool to lose weight in a healthy way. Now I did actually see where it went wrong in my diet and it does prevent me from eating to little or to much. I don't care about macro's at this point. Like for example today, I saw that I…
  • I'm a vegetarian and not all vegetarians have time to spend a lot of time in the kitchen or don't want too. And instead want to take it easy and go for vegetarian burgers, nuggets or whatever replacement for meat. Same goes for vegans I assume. I think it's better to eat meat replacements like the beyond meat burger than…
  • Doing a good warming up and cool down helps me a lot. Since I do those I have less soreness afterwards. When I just started working out I thought those where a waste of time most of the time.
  • My family is actually supporting me. At first they where annoyed that I had to scan things and said no to things. And my mom has been worried about me eating to little. But now she sees results. And when at times I do eat something which contains lots of calories like a cinnamon roll my dad jokes if I can really eat that.
  • Yes I think an hour a day is fine or maybe even half an hour if you don't feel that great. In the Dutch guidelines it also includes stuff like just walking or cycling to work or clean the house. And they give a list of examples with the MET scores.. here is a list in English:…
  • In The Netherlanders there is this minimum guideline for adults: 150 minutes per week low to high impact exercise. Minimum of 2 times a week of strength/endurance training to get stronger muscle and bones. For elderly that also includes exercise to improve balance such as yoga.
  • If you have bulimia using MFP is not a good idea as it will be a huge trigger for you. I suggest you quit using MFP for time being and seek professional help to deal with your bulimia first. One step at a time. Don't be to hard on yourself by making yourself crazy with this app when it's already hard enough to deal with…
  • On vacation I usually don't gain weight but actually lose weight. While I do eat more because I want to try all the yummy food a country has to offer. But usually my vacations are quite active as in I walk a lot during sightseeing and other things. The only holiday where I actually gained a bit was my 10 days in Creete as…
  • I normally work out 30 to 60 minutes a day... I just finished 40 minutes of Chloe Ting work outs and did a booty work out this morning as well. I do have bottles of soda but I have rather small hands so the bottles are a bit to big to train with. I found adjustable dumbbells which can be adjusted to 10KG.. maybe those are…
  • Yes I'm planning on buying more heavy dumbbells. I just had the ones I currently use laying around the house so I started using them. I plan to get more heavier ones soon because indeed they are a bit too light but better then nothing.
  • At the moment I'm trying to loose weight so next to cardio I'm doing some simple strength training to prevent I'm loosing to much muscle mass when losing weight. And yes I know muscle weighs more then fat.
  • I have wavy hair and it's a struggle. I have to wash my hair every other day usually but the last week I have been washing it every day due a heatwave making me bathe in sweat all day long. Usually I do a light work out on days I'm not washing it and a more intense when I'm washing it afterwards. Sweat makes my hair look…
  • When I started MFP it gave me 1500 kcal a day which was fine the first 2 weeks but then after reading a lot more about weight loss and keeping it off in a healthy way I decided to go for 1700 kcal. With 1500 I had the feeling I would limit myself to much so in the end it wouldn't have been sustainable for me. With 1700 I…
  • Sometimes when I take a few cherry tomato's or snack cucumbers I don't log them and lettuce I just eye ball it when needed. Same goes for drinks that are like 2 calories a glas or tea. I also never log the seasoning I add like cinnamon to my oatmeal or a pinch of salt and pepper.
