  • I started MFP at 371 lbs back in June of 2011. My current weight is 260 lbs. I am halfway to my goal weight and the weight is coming off more slowly than it did in earlier months. Be patient and you will succeed.
  • Before 7 months later, 100 lbs gone Sorry, only have head-shots at the moment. It never occurred to me until my trainer mentioned something to me that I should have taken some full body shots. Starting that now for the next 130 lbs to be lost.
  • I don't know how to post pics within the thread.
  • I started on June 8, 2011 at 371 lbs. My weight today December 30, 2011 is 279 lbs. I believe it is possible to do this without diet pills or surgery. I stick to a mainly whole foods/non-processed foods diet, strength train 3 times a week and do at least an hour of cardio exercise 6 days a week. So far it is working well…
  • I was wondering the same thing lately. I have been working with a personal trainer 3 times a week for the past 6 months. I am about to hit the minus 100 pounds mark and I was thinking of getting him a thank you gift/Christmas gift. He really needs an iPod nano and I am considering getting him one as a thank you gift. Is…
  • I get the best workout doing "deep water" water aerobics. You get a good workout with aerobics in shallow water as long as the class keeps moving and uses resistance buoys.
  • What doesn't work: eating anything processed or consuming any alcohol What does work: sticking to a natural foods diet, strength training 3 times a week and doing 90 minutes of cardio 6 days a week, and working with a trainer.
  • Hi Everyone, My name is Melissa. I started this journey in June of 2011. My starting weight (and all time heaviest) was 371 lbs and I ultimately want to get down to 140-150lbs. My current weight is 296 lbs. I really want to lose another 20 lbs before Christmas which would put me at 100 lbs lost in 7 months but I'm not sure…
  • Congrats on the weight loss you have achieved so far :-). I have 200+ to lose as well. I started at 371 and my goal is 150. I started in June and I am currently at 296. Feel free to add me. I am curious to know how you have lost your 163 lbs. Way to go!
  • Weekly Weigh in: Lost 2.2 lbs this week which I am quite happy with since I was off my normal routine last weekend. My challenge is complete but really was already part of my normal routine. I completed 70 minutes of strength training 3 days this week and have had at least 2 servings of fruits or veggies each day. My…
  • Good evening/Good Morning, Sorry this is so late, I have been out of town and just returned. My partner is rllinas. Her challenge is to add 2 servings of non-starch vegetables a day and to change up her exercise routine by either completing 2 days of strength training (at least 30 minutes each session) or adding a new…
  • I know it is weigh-in day but I am unsure how we will be doing this...I am leaving town for a weekend retreat and will have limited access to the internet, so I am posting my weigh-in info here: SW: 371 lbs Weight last week 10/14: 309.8 lbs: Current Weight: 10/21: 303.8 lbs GW: 140 lbs Jan 1st GW: 285 lbs Weekly loss of: 6…
  • Challenge 1 complete. I tried 2 new things twice this week: a zumba class and the stair-treadmill climber. Not sure I will continue with the stair-treadmill climber as it aggravates my knee injury.
  • Hi All, My real name is Melissa and I live in Maryland. Tuesdays are my rough days at work. I teach from 7:00 am until 8:15 pm with only a small lunch break. I have been taking Tuesdays off from my workouts the past couple of weeks but today I will be hitting the gym after my class ends at 8:15 because I am heading up to…
  • $35 per session is an awesome deal. I pay $75 per hour session with my trainer. I have worked with him for 8 weeks now, 3 times a week and I love it! You will see results too. I lost 26 lbs and several inches (down 2 pant sizes) during those 8 weeks.
  • Going to events such as Bingo can make it difficult to eat healthy. Good for you for staying within your calories. My weekend went great. Friday I completed a 2.5 hour workout which was an hour less than my normal Friday workouts due to a busy meeting schedule at work. Saturday I attended a workshop in the morning which…

  • I work with a personal trainer 3 times a week. I love it!! He is awesome. He pushes me hard and we have fun. In the 8 weeks I have been working with him I have lost 26 pounds and dropped 2 pant sizes. I can't afford to keep him so I am working on my own for 6 weeks and then I will start training with him again for another…
  • There are 4 tablespoons to a 1/4 cup. If a 1/4 cup = 200 calories then 1 tablespoon is 50 calories.
  • Do you have access to a gym? I also have a lot to lose as well as recovering from a serious microfracture knee surgery. I find using the recumbent bikes and a recumbent cross-trainer as well as water aerobics in therapy pools to be easy on my bad knee and are also gentle on your hips.
