Wow! Inspiring story. Congrats on all you have accomplished and the hurdles you have overcome in the past 3 years! And I like your hair curly :) You are beautiful!

I'm 30 something and could always use more friends to cheer each other on :) I want to lose around 40lbs. Anyone feel free to add me.

I don't think you need to focus on loosing or on the weight. I think if you added strength training to your exercise you will tone in the areas you want to.

Love this!

I completely agree. I think what she is trying to say that is that it doesn't reduce your self worth because you are fat. I also agree that it isn't ok to risk our health. I knew when I posted this it would be a controversial topic but I thought it had some interesting points that I think you hit them on the head.

This is something on my bucket list. I started running under a year ago and have done 2 half marathons. How long would you recommend a runner be running before deciding to do a full marathon? My biggest fear is injury and I want to do it right. Congrats OP! Awesome work on your training. I think you will do great! I would…

Only if you consistently weigh yourself in the morning. You weigh less in the morning than at the end of the day. But I figure as long as you are weighing yourself at the same time of day then that will be accurate.

These are fabulous suggestions. I think I am converted to running with music now. It definitely increased my pace yesterday. Thanks for the help everyone. Unfortunately the wind didn't get me going :P "The sound of the wind 8)"

These suggestions are awesome!! Thanks everyone!

I just registered for my 2nd half in March. I am fairly new to running and I haven't run through the cold winter yet and I needed a goal to keep me going. So I would also love some support and I will gladly give support. Anyone can feel free to add me.

AWESOME! I have always wanted to run a marathon. I just did my first half marathon and I am in awe of people that can run a marathon. I want to be there one day too!

That is awesome! I recently took up running and I have learned that runners come in all shapes and sizes. That's great!

Hi Dianna, We have a few things in common. Same age, same height and my youngest is also 7. There came a point where I could no longer blame it on baby weight gain and own up to it. Welcome and if you would like some support feel free to add me. Good luck with your journey to a new you :)

Thank you for posting. I find this very motivating as I am a mom/teacher as well. I am going back to work tomorrow and I am nervous about juggling it all. Looking at your pics tells me it can be done.

Thanks for the link to the ebook. I have skimmed over it and look forward to reading it in depth. I now understand what you mean by aerobic capacity and I am excited to read about hill training as I need to learn this too.

Thanks purerunning1. That is good to know about the heart rate. I am still working towards my 1st Half Marathon but I hope in the future to work my way up to a marathon. Great for you that you have a few under your belt to reflect upon, that is awesome!

Thanks scottb81 this is good advice. The one thing I love about running is that there is always ways to keep improving the thing I need to remember is to build up gradually and start with my aerobic capacity. I tried your link but it said page was not found.

I usually say no thank you. But when it is a gift from the children I teach I feel like I need to accept it. I graciously accept it then I tell them I will save it for later. Then I take it home to my children. I know it makes my children happy when I bring home treats to them and it pleases the students to give me a gift.…

Thanks scottb81. I do wear a garmin when I run so that I can keep a steady pace. I am just trying to figure out ways to increase my time. But maybe this should not be my focus yet as this is my first HM. I will try what you suggested. Thanks phdcharlie for the well wishes. You sound like you are doing great with your runs…

That is awesome! Congrats! I am fairly new to running too. I caught the runners high the other day as well. It was the best feeling. I do the same thing, look over the boards for tips.

I'm in! I have the same goal. I am aiming for it to be gone by Christmas. Is that realistic?

I need help with the same thing. I am glad you asked. Sorry I don't have any answers for you but the same thing is happening to me. I have lost weight everywhere but I am not happy with my tummy. And I dread the pregnant questions.

Hello, I am thrilled to find some LDS support on here but I am not too comfortable with answering all those questions. I would like friends to support me on here but will you shun me if I just can't bring myself to tell you so much about myself. I am here because I want to get healthy and fit. I will tell you I am from…

Wow this post really hit home for me. I can relate to being called fat in elementary and forever feeling ugly and fat. I am glad that you found a man that truly loves you and helped you see your beauty. I am the same height and weight as you and I am finally starting to like myself. Thanks for this post! You are beautiful!
