The best part of this thread? I was seriously thinking of ditching the gym tonight, and now I'm all changed and ready to go. :) Rewards - Little ones like teeth whitening, manicures. I already get a massage every month, but I might indulge in a two hour massage when I hit a milestone. Finally sying yes to the guy who's…

I use the Circuit Training, General but it seems to calculate high. I keep planning to wear the HRM, but best laid plans and all that. :grumble:

This ^^^ Also, it's not just the teacher's moment to regroup, it's the child's moment to blow off steam from a few hours of forced inactivity. Recess is good for their state of mind and concentration.

Hate it. Dislike it. Intense boredom, regardless of what I try.

I always enjoyed books, and donated or sold for credit after I was finished. However I read A LOT, and travel quite a bit. When I was sitting on a plane with my hardback on top of all my work essentials, it was pretty easy to see how convenient the kindle would be. And my employer bought it for me as a gift, so even…

I'm curious - Is this more for lifting or for weight loss/fitness in general? I'm also not sure of the lingo. I'm reading it like follow the program six days, have a 'cheat day' on the seventh. Then follow that with an amped up workout, which would be the S"pike day." Do I have that right? Sorry. Uneducated and looking to…

I think you are my mfp crush. :)

I think it's hard for anyone to lose weight, and that was mean of them to gang up on you. But to the actual question - I believe it has to do with muscle mass. Men carry more muscle mass than women do, and muscle tends to burn more calories, even while resting. But I still think a 26 lb weight loss is awesome! WTG!

I think that you are stereotyping everyone on MFP by requiring them to vote yes or no. It's dreadfully wrong to expect everyone to fit in one group or the other, when many of us may want to sit squarely on the fence post. Hmph. :-)
-
I didn't join MFP to be held accountable by other people. I joined because the food diary had a reasonably large database, as compared to Spark, and made it easy to journal my food. I don't feel the need to get other people's opinions on what I'm eating at this time. If I ever do, I will most likely take it to a…

Agreed.

I agree with this. Some people just try too hard. While you feel that you have rejected him in many ways, you've never just told him to stop and some people are truly that slow on the uptake. This way, if you still have to go to HR, you can state that you said NO in no uncertain terms, and in a manner that is both adult…

Try google. You will see what everyone is referring to. In fact, there is a website - www.declawing.com - which is run by a vet that explains why a cat needs claws.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

Nah. Band camp is fun. Serious thread camp is like math camp. Or military school.

Well, I was thinking that if they were REALLY good at throwing the tantrum, maybe give them the pizza, the donut AND the sucker.
-
But only if they want pizza. What if they want a donut?

Just put some Windex on it. It'll go away in a week.

This thread has taken so many turns, it's like a tabloid show. But going back to the original post, I think what upset most of those who were offended was the tone of the post. If the OP had said she was concerned about the overweight children, that she knew what they were going to experience in life and possible health…

I'm a purist. Black. No cream, no sugar, no special flavors of hazelnut or almond. Plain black Maxwell House Master Blend. :)

This is the part that really bothers me. Looking at two overweight children and being disturbed, because you know what they will go through - I get it. You're relating to the situation. You know what they will go through. But what you said above? I find that really offensive. At that point, what made you any different than…

^This. I agree completely.

The roses were just an excuse She didn't want to go out with him again. It was just a romantic gesture, not a proposal of marriage. He probably walked into the florist, told her he wanted flowers for a date, and that's what they told him to get. He didn't know her well enough to get more personal, most likely. I think it…
