  • I run alone and sometimes I wonder if that's a dumb idea. I am a firm believer in trusting my gut and if something feels off or weird.. I get out of there.
  • You have lots of sugar in this diet.. not sure if that's something you are trying to watch or not.
  • Yep I'm a 4:44am kinda girl. If it doesn't happen in the early hours then it doesn't really happen. Perfect way to start the day and really wake up!
  • There is no rule. Like pretty much every thing else on this journey, you do what you gotta do for you.
  • My friend and I just finished Cycle 2 of the 17 day diet.. so we are 34 days in.. I've lost 16 pounds and she's lost 18.. and we both feel great! The first 17 days are rough but it worked and we've also broken our sugar addictions.. Just a thought!
  • Real friends want the best for their friends. She obviously has issues with food and isn't okay with you trying to change. If healthy living is really important to you then you might just need to get some distance for a while... harsh but it's your life and your body and your health we are talking about here.
  • Check out Sarah Wilson's "I Quit Sugar"... She has an 8 week program that eases you into giving up that stuff. The book makes it really simple and fairly painless. Plus she has lots of pretty pictures :) I've been cutting it out for a while and while it was hard at first--- I'm starting to feel amazing! One of her first…
  • I love coffee! I love everything about it and find that the thought of giving it up depresses me: so I don't! I drink it black and only 1-2 cups in the morning. I stopped drinking it during the day as I found it was affecting my sleep, which actually affects weight-loss. Depending on what diet you're following you'll get…
  • Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30 are probably my favourites. I find she can be a tad "mean" so sometimes I feel the love with Turbo Jam. I have recently started using the workouts on FitnessBlender and like them a lot too. With the 30 Day Shred-- you feel and notice a difference almost immediately.
  • I've been eating clean for a while now and I love how much better I feel.. way more alert and way less bloated. Sometimes it's a bit of a challenge and/or a bit boring but I know it's worth it in the end. I should probably mention that occasionally I have a cheat day with very very dirty food!
  • There's always Chariots of Fire! I also love watching the training scenes/montages from all of the Rocky movies--- all on YouTube.
  • I drink my coffee black... because I'd rather eat my calories! Ultimately it depends on what your thing is... make your calories work for you!
  • I don't usually have anything when I work out in the morning. I used to have a quick coffee but stopped that because I found I'd rather enjoy my coffee post-workout. It's totally up to you though. Some people need something like a banana before they work out while others (like me) prefer to just get right to it. Play…
  • Hi there, Yes... definitely one day at a time. I lost quite a lot of weight with MFP. Due to some personal stuff some of it has crept back on and so I'm here again because I know that this works really well. Set yourself little goals and challenges with "non-food" rewards. Maybe cut out snacking or eating after 7pm or…

  • I'm going through the same kind of thing right now. I am just working on reminding myself that this is a process... my body could do amazing things once and it will again. And then I remember how bad days and periods happen to us all. Don't beat yourself up for down times. We all go through them and sometimes it's a good…
  • Welcome! Sounds like you've got your head in the right place! It's all about being ready and wanting to change for your own reasons. Someone once told me that whatever you do.. never lie to the phone (read: MFP). So it all goes in there.. the good, the bad, the ugly and it really does help to see it all written out. There…
  • I like the idea of it and dabbled with it a bit in the past. I find that it's tricky to maintain.. especially if you want to have any sort of social life... Balance is a good thing!
  • Yeah, like what everyone else said... keep within your calories and it's okay. I'd opt for whole wheat, whole grain options though just to make sure you're getting some nutritional value in there! :)
  • I agree with the "don't try anything new on race day" thing... including clothes! Make sure you take good care of yourself the day before and stick with your plan. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement and run too hard or too fast at the beginning. Most importantly, have an amazing time! Just enjoy all of it!
  • 4:44... get up, throw on clothes and running shoes and run for about 45 minutes... followed by about 15 minutes of stretching and toning and I'm set for the day. Problem is that I tend to crash early in the evening. Try to start heading to bed by 9.. lights out at 10... In an ideal world anyway.
  • I completely understand the guilt. I have been through that many times and let me tell you.. feeling guilty accomplishes nothing! It's okay to enjoy food and that's part of learning to live a healthy balanced lifestyle. If you think you need to, just work out a teeny bit longer or eat a bit lighter tomorrow but don't feel…
  • I think that's probably a great idea. You can eat a LOT of breakfast instead of one smoothie. When I have them, they are my only breakfast and that's only on days that I can handle eating lots of calories. Smoothies are deceiving because they seem so gosh-darn-healthy but are very calorie packed. Healthy but high calorie.…
  • I used to do Zumba in the evenings.. and would often have turkey and avocado... usually on a sub sandwich. I found that I was always starving after Zumba so best to go for healthy but filling foods... Even a peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread would do that trick.
  • My smoothies end up being anywhere from 300-450 calories and are either 8 or 12oz.. Better to over estimate than under estimate. 24oz is pretty big!
  • I love wine and find it easier to give up dessert than a glass. Last time I went out, I worked really hard with alternating wine and a glass of water. Seemed to work. I try to only have it on weekends though and make sure that I've worked out on the days that I do drink it. Honestly, for me, I don't like the numbers on the…

  • One banana + one eggwhite... mixed up and fried like a pancake.. I add peanut butter once it's cooked.
  • "Many things reported never really happened Many things quoted were never really said Many things said were never really meant Many things meant were never really meant very much at all..."
  • About three times. My first time I was hardcore and lost about 30lbs with it. The second time, I don't want to talk about. :) The third time, this time... I'm in it to win it!
  • You find yourself going for late night walks to make sure you don't end the day in the red...
