Are you a Clean Eater?

If not, what do you eat?

I'm pretty flippin' proud of myself, I haven't had a soda in 2 months. It was my addiction! When i drank it, i would would go through at least 3:1 liters a week!
I've lost 6 pounds... I know that's all water weight but hey it's a first step!

I'm a dirty eater. If it fits in my calories, I eat it. I try to be mindful tho and eat healthier. Also, I haven't had soda in a over a year so congrats on that.

I eat fast food for lunch pretty much every workday. I probably average 1.5 cans of pop per day, that's way down from 2-3 cans not counting the fountain drinks that I used to have though.

I eat clean for the most part. No fast food, no soda, no coffee, no alcohol, no cake, cupcakes, cookies, cheesecake, etc. I don't eat at restaurants unless I absolutely have no other choice, meaning I am traveling.

I do still eat packaged snacks like organic gluten free popcorn, gluten free pretzels, and gluten free crackers.

I eat gluten free because I have Crohn's disease so when I do have a treat (which is rare), it's from a bakery that is gluten free/dairy free/soy protein free/peanut free/tree nut free/non GMO. I just went to this bakery last week and bought a vanilla pound cake, vegan blondie, and brownie. Ate the blondie and a couple slices of the pound cake. Froze the brownie and the rest of the pound cake for another time.

I eat a lot of grilled chicken, salmon, ground beef/turkey, steak (I limit the red meat), brown rice, Greek yogurt, mushrooms, asparagus, black beans, flax seeds, bananas, cantaloupe, watermelon, sweet potatoes, baked potatoes (in moderation because I have insulin resistance). I wish I could eat a wide variety of veggies because I love veggies but I can't due to Crohn's. I get smoothies from a local health store's juice bar frequently. They are delish

I tried that "clean eating" thing, what I envisioned it meant... but then I found out they don't even give you a medal or a trophy or a pony or anything!

So now I console myself with gallons of diet soda and processed foods in moderation.

What does it mean to "eat clean"? I have seen this terminology on other posts too. Sorry, I'm pretty new here.

I eat all kinds of foods. I don't know what "clean" foods vs. "dirty" foods means. I probably eat some of each?

I realize people eat like this for medical reasons, but for overall health and living, I do all that in moderation without issue.

I eat EVERYTHING. But 98% of what I eat is made by me or my husband at home using ingredients, so even though we eat burgers, cheesecake, bread, pancakes, spanish rice, curries, and pizza, I have no idea if it's clean or dirty, because we made it, we know what exactly is in it. But it's not pat-on-the-back health food.

I pretty much eat whatever I want - as long as I know how many calories etc it has. I don't have takeaways or eat out at all, but I'll happily have a chocolate bar whenever I want (as long as it fits into my calorie limit). I also only drink water or tea. I really don't see the point of wasting calories on juice or other drinks.

There was a time when I used to only allow myself super healthy, low calorie foods, but that didn't work for me. I always ended up binge eating after a while on all the food that I hadn't allowed myself to eat.

It means no processed foods. It's something of a moving target, imo. Some people would consider cheese processed. Some would consider it clean as long as it only had a few ingredients. I'd consider almost everything processed but I don't think processed = bad, which is the root belief of the clean/unclean labeling.

In my opinion, eat clean= 5 ingredients or less.

I've been eating clean for a while now and I love how much better I feel.. way more alert and way less bloated. Sometimes it's a bit of a challenge and/or a bit boring but I know it's worth it in the end. I should probably mention that occasionally I have a cheat day with very very dirty food!

Do red and green peppers count as separate ingredients? Because I'd hate if that was the difference between clean and dirty in my Western Omelet.
