  • I just read a post about it online. It sounds like the same program with more emphasis on eating high fiber and water content foods. I have all the books and dining out guides from last year so I think I am going to stick with that and just try to be mindful of the food and not just points. Sometimes I have a tendency to…
  • Wow! Those look good. Is that shredded coconut on top? The carrot cake I usually make comes from the Cooking Light Magazine but still has 300 calories per slice.
  • Wed is fine. I guess tomorrow will be the first weigh-in. Are you doing the MFP calories and WW or just one thing?
  • Is there anybody doing Weight Watchers on their own who would like to have a weekly weigh-in via MFP. I was thinking about a Friday morning weigh-in. It would be nice to have some support and accountability without paying to go to the meetings (if you have the points counter). I am a stay-at-home mom (work on the weekends…
  • I love my Wii Fitness! I got it for Christmas and have been using it in conjunction with other exercises since then - but I definatly look forward to my Wii workouts more then the others. If you are looking to get seriously buff - probably not going to work - but if you are wanting a way to get in some exercise in a fun…
  • I just checked my profile and my protein goal was 15%. That explains a lot. I changed it to 30, left the fat at 15 and upped the carbs to 55. I like the idea of 1/2 gram of protein for every pound. I am going to start looking at that and see how I'm doing.
  • I was happy to get a vege book that wasn't just holiday-cheese filled recipes. You can cook a simple roasted chicken and then make a great side. I might have to look for the light cookbook. I didn't know they had one.
  • Do you think 40-30-30 such as the zone is a good goal? I'm not sure what my is set up at right now. I did follow my calorie guidelines very strictly this week and lost weight. I just didn't see myself as a high protein eater.
  • I've noticed that a lot of people have been asking for vegetable recipes. I got a wonderful cookbook for Christmas that is devoted just to vegetables. It is the "The Best Vegetable Recipes" from the editors of Cook's Illustrated. Granted each recipe takes some time. It is not just popping some broccoli in the microwave to…
  • We have been doing some Wii fit at my house. Even my little girl (3 years old) set up a Mii and she does running and hula hoop. It is a nice way for everyone to get in some activity during these cold snowy days. We just take turns with the activities. Then when the kids are doing an activity you can get in some more…
  • I seem to go over on protein grams for the day but do fine for fat and carbs. I am not on a high protein, atkins style diet. I eat an egg or two with breakfast and then chicken with lunch and sometimes don't even have meat with dinner. Is it okay to go over? Should I just focus on the calories and not worry about the…
  • Well I certainly appreciate everyone's honesty. I guess sometimes it is easy to trick yourself into thinking that there is an easy way out. I just have to buckle down and make a daily plan and stick to it. I already eat Kashi or Oatmeal or egg on toast for breakfast with fruit. My dinners are fine - now I just need to…
  • I know I should just track my calories but sometimes I feel like I just want something easy. I find that my biggest dieting/healthy eating problem is not in feeling hungry or wanting to eat bad things it is lack of determination to do it all the way and take the time to measure foods and plan healthy meals. Dinners are…
  • Has anybody tried the Special K diet? I would like to do something easy and I can't take another Lean Cuisine. I was thinking about trying it for 3-4 weeks just to get a jumpstart on a diet. I don't want my kids to see me eating cereal all day and thinking it's healthy. Little help?
  • In the evening after the kid's are in bed so I can either do my own workout tape or have a blessed few minutes to myself. Would she be interested in working out with you. Sometimes my husband and I alternate 15 minutes treadmill and a P90x dvd. It breaks up the cardio/strength and it is quality time in eachothers presence.
  • I weighed in today and lost 1 lb!!!!!!! Four more to go by Christmas.
  • I also saw that Jillian from the Biggest Loser has a workout game for the Wii and was curious about that. Has anyone tried it? I think I will overlap my gym membership and Wii for January and decide if I should quit the gym. It would be nice to spend longer working out and less time driving back and forth. Does the Wii…
  • I want to lose 5 lbs in by Christmas and weigh in at 147. Thanks for the challenge!
  • Low calorie eating and exercising followed by closet almost binging (8 cookies in one sitting 2 huge bowls of ice-cream or a gigantic plate of nachos) that totally undo all of my hardwork. I feel like I am constantly setting new start dates for my diets because of this terrible cycle.
  • Thanks - I will grab that at the Grocery store tomorrow when I pick up my Thanksgiving stuff. Have you done Wii Fit yourself?
  • I found out that I am getting a Wii and Wii fit for Christmas (Amazon left the invoice on top of the wrapped package without an envelope). Is it a good enough workout to quit the gym or is it more just to have fun and supplement regular treadmill workouts? I would love to dump my $50 per month payment to the gym in the New…
