  • I have been going over my target calories this week. Some weeks are like that. Just try to start again tomorrow to do better, don't beat yourself up about it at all, that takes the fun out of the indulgence. What is important is long term and trying to be as healthy as you can be. That is the secret to success in getting…
  • THANK YOU! I made these just now and they are fabulous. I like the oatmeal chunks so I didn't put in blender, I just mixed with a spoon. I used real sugar but only used a half a cup. They didn't come out really sweet, but that is good. They feel like a really decadent dessert and I will be keeping this one and making it…
  • Perhaps I should give it a try with a lower dosage. Thanks for all the info ladies.
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/4339-pcosers-unite This is the group for women with PCOS. I just joined it a couple of days ago. You all should join.
  • I had to see an endocrinologist because they thought I may have had Cushing's. I did not. I have a bit of an understand what Cushing's is about and I feel for you. I wish you the best.
  • I will add you as a friend. I have PCOS too and was laid up in bed for a year as a result cause of low iron caused by heavy periods. The complications with PCOS are so many and varied. There is a group for PCOS that I just joined. I don't know how to invite you. If you do a search under groups, you will find it or a few.…
  • I lost 40 lbs and my boobs look bigger now. The reason they look bigger is because I lost alot of fat off my belly. I hvae a waist so my boobs are accentuated. Does that sound silly? llol. I hope they don't srhink, I doubt they will.
  • I work out at a gym and I have a trainer who comes to my home once a week, she has me on a regimen. I love doing weight training. I also do cardio. I started all this because of the complications I had from pcos. Because of PCOS, I had heavy periods. My iron dropped to critically low levels and I ended up in bed for a…
  • Maybe I am wrong, but I stopped taking metformin because of the stomach pain and constipation. I continue with my weightloos though and am trying to eat well. I am excited about this group.
  • We can be friends. I am living with PCOS too. I have had a long hard struggle with it.
  • I was on metformin for a short time but it made me constipated. I went off it. The dr told me that it is purely for women with pcos who want to get pregnant. I am 42 and have never had c hildren. I don't want them either. Why did your dr want you to go on it? If you can check my profile and blog, I have posted m ore about…
  • Working out is not my problem, I don't often miss those. My problem is turning off the desire for sweets. What I try to do is eat the better sweets instead of the bad ones.
  • It is amazing what working out can do to a body. It appears you went from being pear shaped to hourglass. I think I went from apple to hourglass. You do look awesome. Isn't it fun flexing? I love doing that too.
  • Keep going. Sometimes it is the little things that inspire us to make us work at being healthy.
  • Thanks for adding me:)
  • I kind of reached a plateau, even though I am following my diet, 1100-1300 calories a day - I haven't been losing in the last month or so. I have been a bit frustrated. My trainer is changing my workout routine for me to make it more difficult. Perhaps I am just impatient, but I will keep plugging along. Thanks for your…
  • You can add me:) I don't have any friends yet either :(
  • My obstacle is focusing on the scales. I want to lose ten more pounds. But I have been weight training and doing cardio, eating right and never felt better, so I shouldn't complain. It is how you feel that is important. You look really healthy yourself.
  • You can add me. I don't have any mfp friends yet lol.
  • Add some weight lifting to your workouts. Muscle burns more calories than fat. We lose muscle after the age of 40 and must work to keep it. I highly recommend checking out adding some weights to your routine. Oftentimes women stick to cardio workouts but they sell themselves short by not lifting weights. Do both. You will…
  • Thank you. I love to lift weights.
  • I am 5'2" and I am currently 132ish and I aim to get to 120. I have already lost alot. I hired a personal trainer and I do weight training three days a week, cardio 4-5 days. I have used myfitnesspal for support, tracking and inspiration. It is nice to meet other short people lol. Best of luck to everyone.
  • I think you are smoking. I love red dresses and girl you are rocking that one. Good for you!! WOO HOO! Whatever you did, bottle it up and sell it, you will be a millionaire!!
  • I too think you looked fine in your before picture. You look great either way, but what is important is how you feel right:)
  • Apple crisp is healthier than apple pie, you get your apple pie fix without the guilt. I make this a lot, it is good for the sweet tooth craving. http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1725,158160-232204,00.html Can serve with a bit of vanilla frozen yogurt on the side. I add walnuts into the oatmeal topping too.
  • I forgot to include some water, you need to put some water in with the apple mixture.
  • This is not low carb but it is delicious and low in fat. Try making apple crisp, chop up some apples, melt a bit of margarine or butter, mix that in with the apples with cinnamon, lemon juice and some brown sugar. For the topping, mix a cup and half of oatmeal, a bit of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans or walnuts.…
