Huh -- the BMR calculator that site links to sure gives me a different BMR than the calculator on here does (when you set your goals) -- according to that website, MFP is overestimating my BMR by about 500 calories a day! Wow...I wonder which is more accurate.

Thanks for all the tips -- it sounds like the consensus is water, low sodium and fiber. :-) What are people shooting for in terms of water and sodium?

I'm in, but I'll have to set my goals during the first day (will be getting a pedometer on Monday).

I couldn't figure out how they wanted you to measure the elbow, but according to this I have a large frame, which doesn't surprise me at all. I always have, even when I weighed less.

Glad to hear you're already improving, and I hope you can find extra motivation on here. For me, it's been very helpful. I was never athletic at all, but I'm starting to discover that I do enjoy it -- just trying to fit the time in has been challenging, but hearing other people's strategies helps because it convinces me…

I need foundation, because I wasn't gifted with great skin even when I'm taking care of it properly, and when I cover up the imperfections I feel like I (and others) can focus on the entire thing and not just the parts I don't like. A little mascara and tinted lip balm or lipstick during the day makes my features look…

I am gonna have to try this one...it looks really interesting, plus a pretty good pre-workout mix of macronutrients!

It definitely helps to have another snack ready to go. Is it primarily happening at work, or at home? At work, I try to always keep a healthy snack handy (fruit and cheese is perfect because you get some sugar, but also fat and a little protein), and in case I get really desperate, I also have a couple of Zone Perfect bars…

Awesome job! You look great!

GREAT progress!! I bet you have a spring in your step now. :-) Keep it up!

From everything I've read, it sounds like the majority of evidence indicates that the gimmicky supplements just create expensive pee, and not much else (except, with the few dangerous ones, heart attacks). One of the nice things about tracking your intake in the food diary is that you can see where you have deficiencies in…

That's great!! Motivation...I'm looking forward to buying the first size down myself. :-)

Howdy! Add me if you like. :-)

Heh, I can relate to the family thing. Feel free to add me. :-)

I'm thinking you probably have to go into any drinking situation with a definite pre-set limit. I didn't on Friday and Saturday and had way more than I intended. Tracked it all, though...!

Welcome! Feel free to add me if you want. It's really motivating to watch everyone's progress!

"Supahstah" just makes me think of Molly Shannon. ;-)

I know, huh? The app is making a huge difference -- I've tried tracking before but now I have no excuses. Love the app!! And this website is great.

Ditto. I was really happy when I found out how to do this because it can really help keep you motivated when you reach plateaus (lots of times, your measurements will still change!)

Yes, totally log everything anyway, I agree. I've had a couple of days since I started where I went over (one day, *way* over) but I felt good about entering it anyway. Plus, over the whole week things worked out fine. You can also see the report that gives you your weekly average, and it's a good reminder that everyone…

I have a large-ish frame and am busty, and I will be very happy with 160, but am aspiring to 150. The "girls" aren't filled with helium, after all, so I have to be realistic. My lightest after puberty was 145 and I looked great, although I didn't know it at the time.

This thread is reminding me that there is a TON of stuff I had when I was in high school that didn't survive the voyage from tapes or CDs to mp3.....time to start building up the music collection again...!!

Thanks for the feedback -- nice to know I should go ahead and try to get through the first few minutes now. Is the weights one a different video?

It might just be a result of the fact that your brain is in hibernation mode, so you're storing up (so to speak) all of the bathroom trips you *would* have been taking if you had been awake, even if you weren't currently drinking water. Maybe? I have heard that it can take your body a while to adjust if you increase your…

Feel free to add me -- I'm new too. :-)

Great job!!!!

About how fit are people when they start 30DS, and what do people recommend in that regard? Right now I am a total newbie but am building up to it; would like to have an idea of when to break out the DVD. Thx!

Hi, welcome! Am new too but enjoying it so far.

Hi! What's P90X -- never heard of it & curious.

Great job on the 55 lbs!!! Keep it up!
