  • Hello! I will answer your question in 2 parts. 1st - as the other poster stated, MFP (JUST) added Zumba fitness as an activity TODAY :) So, you can log it that way. 2nd - asking how many calories it burns is totally subjective. Your personal calorie burn for ANY activity will vary depending on your sex, age, weight and…

  • Hello and congratulations on the loss you have already achieved! That's awesome. The folks here are amazing, so you should definitely find the support you are looking for to reach your goal Great job so far!
  • I have you beat, barely :) I am 4'9"! I am already at goal and maintaining at approximately 99lbs.
  • I am locking this thread because the conversation is getting a little out of hand. Keep in mind that even if the member is no longer active on the site, it is still against MFP forum guidelines to post comments such as many that have been made in this thread. (From the guidelines) 4) Do not attack/slam/insult other users.…

  • Hey there! As a Zumba instructor I just have to say how cool I think it is that you like Zumba :) You don't have to know how to dance or anything to enjoy it. Just move and have fun :) That having been said, Exhilarate is the newest home dvd set and it is awesome. It has so many new routines on it and it introduces Senteo,…
  • Hello! it's amazing how much people learn when they actually write down/log/track the food they eat. SO many people are under the (false) assumption that they don't eat too many calories. So, just putting it down on paper is often an eye opener. I have no doubt you will find success if you keep track, and you continue to…
  • It isn't bad to go over on protein. Unless it's EXCESSIVELY high, you are fine if you go over on stuff like protein and/or fiber (I am routinely over on fiber :). You can do other little things to up your calories without actually having to eat more. If you drink lowfat milk, switch to a higher fat. Drink the same…
  • I started with a Polar F6. I LOVED that HRM. However, I am moved on to fancier gadgets as my fitness geekness has grown. I now wear a BodyBugg (similar to the FitBit). It is the bomb. It is an investment, however, if you need the additional feedback and help finding out your most accurate calorie burn and other data, it is…
  • Aw, shucks :) :blushing:
  • I agree w/ Alexa. Both are great, but to lose weight initially, it's best to ramp up the cardio. I have both programs and love them. Do Turbo Fire first, then, do CLX to get tone and still keep some cardio in your routine. LOVE Chalene. She rocks.
  • Hello and welcome! MFP is a great site. As you get settled in and are looking around, please feel free to ask questions :) It's great to have you here!

  • Hello and welcome to the forums :) I am glad that you have enjoyed the site so far and that you do have some friends already to keep you motivated and encourage you. You will find tons of other like minded folks around here :) We all do better with support and encouragement so this site is WONDERFUL for that. Feel free to…
  • Hello and welcome to MyFitnessPal! This is definitely the place to be if you want/need support :) So, you are cutting back, or cutting OUT sugar? Sometimes you need to ease off of something instead of going cold turkey. For one, it helps to lessen the urge to binge because you have been depriving yourself, and 2, because…
  • Hey there! I am not looking to participate in any challenges, but I just HAD to say hello. I saw some folks that are close, but I THINK I have you all beat. I am 4'9"!! 38 yrs old and wear a CHILD size 2 shoe :) I am currently maintaining after losing 12lbs when I started working out and counting calories back in 2007.…
  • I must agree w/ ZumbaDNR. I am also a Zumba instructor and while I started out doing it at home, once I went to a class I LOVED it even more. You feed off of the other people in the class and you stay motivated and tend to give more effort into it. Until you find an exercise or activity you LOVE, you will continue to get…

  • Great minds think alike. We posted at the same time :)
  • I actually add cottage cheese into my hot oatmeal. I used to have them separately at my mid-morning snack and one day decided to mix them and OMG it was yummy. The oatmeal didn't taste very different, just very filling and and thicker. And yesterday I used yogurt (not greek though, just regular yogurt) and it was good.…
  • Hey there! Well, you know what? You learned something during your time w/ WW. You learned that you DO see progress when you track your food. SO, now that you have MFP and can do it for free...your wallets can be a little fuller again and your pants will get a little loser again :) I love the community here. Ask questions.…
  • Congrats! I am Turbo Kick certified but haven't considered HHH. I AM considering PiYo though. Congrats again :)
  • Hey there! SO nice to meet you. You are SO right. The tools are great, but once you get to know the other members of this community you will see that it is SO helpful. The encouragement, support and advice from others who are going through the same thing you are can be just the push you need to get the ball rolling. Good…
  • Hello and welcome! Phew....I am tired just reading about all the stuff you have going on. While adding exercise AND a proper diet is the most effective way to lose weight, it is NOT the only way. You can lose weight without adding exercise to your routine. It just takes a bit longer. The goal is to burn more than you eat,…
  • So, are you counting calories then? Are you tracking how many calories you BURN? (your BMR PLUS your exercise burn?) There are several reasons you could be gaining (or sometimes people just plateau). If your deficit is TOO large (the difference between what you are burning and what you are eating) you can often times gain…
  • I find motivation in seeing the changes in my body, my attitude, and my overall health. I have slowly learned to love exercise. I think that this community and the members here are also a wonderful source of inspiration, motivation, and support. Make friends, share your experience and you will see it does get easier :)
  • Hello! Well, it certainly sounds like you have mastered the trick to eating delicious and healthy meals! They sound delicious. I also love Greek Yogurt. Chobani strawberry/banana is my absolute favorite. Congrats on discovering that you really CAN eat well and enjoy delicious and satisfying food.
  • Hey there! It sounds like you have learned a LOT through your journey. The one thing that caught my attention is you said "to stay below 1200 calories". You NEVER want to be BELOW 1200 calories, at least, not intentionally and NOT on a regular basis. That is the bare minimum that any female NEEDS for their body to…
  • I'm in Western AA County, but I wanted to say hello to all my locals!
  • Hey there! Glad that you are enjoying MFP so far (the tools) and that you are finally coming to meet the community. Having that extra support and encouragement is definitely going to help you. It is SO beneficial to be able to share your journey with others who have traveled the same road. Again, welcome!
  • Hello! It's nice to meet you :) You will find that this site will DEFINITELY help you . The tools alone are great for keeping you on track, but the members are SO supportive. USE the forums. These folks have been there, done that, and often have a lot of advice to share about how they got HERE :) Welcome, again, to MFP.
