"Peer Reviewed Research and Studies" - Exactly. Peer Reviewed is the key.

You said what I was trying to say much more succinctly, haha. Good job.

From a purely biological perspective, you are built to eat meat (you are also built to eat vegetables). What do I mean? Let me share! Let's start from the top of your digestive tract, your teeth. If you were meant to be an herbivore, all of your teeth would have broad, ridged surfaces for eating plants; if they have any…

I'm totally getting a boob job one day. No qualms about it.

I have an old friend coming into town tonight, so we'll probably go out. Beforehand, I'll probably try to go to the gym to be able to "afford" it calorie wise. Which may be tough since I'm also craving pizza from the pizza post.
-
This thread is making it very difficult not to order a pizza, especially from the place that makes the best pizza in town that just so happens to deliver and is only just 1 mile away.
-
Well then, either way, I suppose it's a good thing that my doctor agrees with me. :)

Thanks for the tip! My middle finger and thumb actually overlap. . . that also explains a few things. I'm 5'7" and my goal is 120-125 (the bottom end of a healthy BMI, underweight is 118), and I don't post much about it because whenever others have similar goals they're usually told by people on MFP to reassess their…
-
Yes. Yes it will, along with a bunch of other things that I'm sure other MFPers will cover for you. Is there a physician watching your weight loss?
-
So true. I'm actually a smoker myself. I'm a double major bio/chemistry, so I know exactly how horrible it is for me. After I tackle weight loss, smoking is my next hurdle. But there's nothing about smoking that's beautiful (except that it can sometimes look very pretty). It's disgusting, and rips you apart from the inside…

These have always really bothered me. Someone said that it helps you get the self esteem to take care of yourself, but that's never how I've viewed it. I've always viewed it as a way to have your cake and eat it too so to speak. It always felt like a way to justify being obese, I think because often it's accompanied by…

I exercise when I can, but it's sporadic. Sometimes I go 6 days a week, others none at all. I'm a full time college student (Majors Biology/Chemistry, Minors Math/Physics) and I work two jobs so I go when I have time. Otherwise, I stick to my allotted calories. I've lost 33 pounds since I started MFP on October 9th. So…

Whoa, dude. "Or hanging with the opposite sex. . ." Talk about trust issues.

Studies show that it's actually being around each other constantly and not having any other life that breaks up couple. You get sick of each other, feel trapped, etc. My significant other and I have always taken time apart, and more than most couples from what I've heard, but we like it. As far as the party is concerned,…

I don't EVER count my morning coffee. :/

We are not physicians. Well, some of us may be, but most of us aren't and most of us have not gone to school for 8 years so that we can devote our lives to figuring out what is wrong with you. Go see your doctor; don't ask us to diagnose you.
-
I was told by my physician that typically people who wind up experiencing the side effect of weight gain on birth control typically had weight problems to begin with. Of course, when we had those conversations we were talking about the pill and Nuvaring, not Implanon (which I've wanted for awhile).

To everyone asking how to get/what are graham crackers, as usual, Amazon has the answer. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=graham+crackers&x=0&y=0 Those are graham crackers, that's Amazon, an that's where you can buy them (unless you live in the U.S., then just go to the store.).…

I eat them a lot. I'm a full time student and I work two jobs, so they're ideal for me (quick, easy to make and easy to log). Smart Ones has started coming out with larger versions in steam bags that still stay under 400 calories. They aren't so much filling as satiating, but I'm not hungry after I have one (typically). If…

I actually usually feel energized after the gym. If you go maybe you won't be so tired. DO IT. Also, you'll regret it if you don't, and then you'll really want to whine.
-
You can. It's not good for your body.

158 is my weigh in for the week. Healthy BMI!!
-
Hahaha! Right??? Like I said separately, I was getting sick doing it the way I was. I had actually stumbled across your page a couple weeks prior to this and saw your story and was like "Yeah, whatever. . ." LOL. It doesn't help that I just hit a healthy BMI (YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!) and so the deficit I was running…

Also, I'd like to point out that since I started eating back at least 1/2 of my exercise calories every day, I've stopped having headaches that last for hours and don't respond to medication, major muscle cramps from normal movement, and random exhaustion in the middle of the day. Go figure. It actually makes me feel kinda…
-
Yeah, actually I do. The only problem is I'm a nighttime calorie hoarder, and so after exercise (which is usually 600+), sometimes I have trouble eating it all before I go to bed. I'm considering buying some calorie dense foods to make it a little easier (for example, I have 1400 to kill before I go to bed tonight).
-
This same thing happens to me. I try to eat a piece of fruit or a vegetable and drink a full (usually 16 oz minimum) glass of water and wait ten minutes before I ever eat anything. I also drink water while I'm eating dinner so I fill up faster.

Olive oil, grapeseed oil. When cooking, try cooking your veggies in a little bit of it. A.) It's delicious and B.) All good fats. Fish has great fats too.

Today I weigh in at 162.

Instead of getting our answers, here's answers from Harvard: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/healthy-weight/healthy-weight-full-story/index.html The whole site is good, but I would specifically scroll down to Lessons from Losers. Basically, people who lost weight and kept it off did it through diet and…

Not only do they not work, but I finally started being consistent about my diet when I stopped being concerned about whether or not the scale was moving. Guess what? It is, but that's because I'm doing what I need to do with diet and exercise. The rest takes care of itself if you take care of those things. Even if diet…
